The Babysitter

Chapter 11

•Kaitlyn POV•
I woke up in what I believe to be Joey's guest bedroom. To the right of me was a nightstand where my phone layed plugged in. I grabbed my phone and saw that I had 47 missed calls from my mom, oops? I opened my phone and called her back, but when I called her I heard ringing from downstairs. She didn't answer so I got up and used the bathroom. I washed my face and then put my hair in a ponytail to contain the mess. I walked downstairs to find my mom asleep on the Birlem's couch. I swear this woman could embarrass me just by blinking. I walked into the kitchen to find the whole Birlem family sitting at their kitchen table eating breakfast. Jen noticed me and said, "oh Kaitlyn you're awake come sit down" she patted the chair next to hers and I sat down.
"Would you like something to eat" Jen asked.
"No I'm ok thank you" I smiled.
They started to make small talk with each other and I sat there thinking about last night. Joey must have noticed because he whispered,
"Are you ok?" From across the table.
I looked at him and shook my head yes.
He smiled and then looked away and listened to the conversation Drewski and Jen were having. This is a new side of Joey ... and I kind of like it.
•After Breakfast•
I was about to leave when Joey pulled me into his room.
"What?" I asked confused.
"Are you sure you're okay?" He asked.
"I'm fine Joey" I sighed.
He gave me a look of disbelief, and then pulled me in for a hug. I hugged back and memories from last night flashed back. Tears brimmed my eyes and Joey said,
"Just let it out"
I broke down in tears for the second time in 24 hours.
"Shh shh it's ok I'm here" Joey whispered as he rubbed my back.
I laughed and pulled back from the hug and wiped my tears away.
"What?" He laughed.
"You're acting weird" I answered.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"You're being all nice" I laughed again.
"What I can't be nice?"
"Well what I mean is you've been so, so ew this whole time I've known you" I answered.
"Well you saved my little brother, that says a lot about you and I appreciate that" he smiled.
I smiled back and gave him another hug which he greatly took.
"Plus you're pretty hot" he smirked.
"Anddd he's back" I laughed as I pulled away.
