Chapter Two

It was now Thursday and Joey was sitting with me. Mara and everybody else were busy with something.We were talking about random stupid things when I noticed the Witch coming our way.

"Hey, Nancy and her crew are coming over our way" I said quietly. Getting ready to leave.

"No they're just jealous of you" He smiled softly, then motioned for me to sit back down.

Really? What is with him...

Nancy started walking towards us.

"Hey Nohlan" she said rubbing his chest.

"Bye Nancy" he said removing her hands from her chest.

That's the thing! Whenver he was with me and girls would flirt with him he always shifted uncomfortably or acted as if their touch was poisoning. I never understood that. He always had a girlfriend but not recently . Usually he would hook up with someone but for a while now, he has been single.He would sometimes cancel with his date just to come over to my house and hang out togethe-

" Tell your hairball friend she needs to leave Nohlan"Nancy said,cutting my thoughts out, still all over Joey.

I picked my stuff up just not wanting to punch her if she called me 'hairball 'again.Then he caught my arm,I looked back at Joey."Where are you going?"he asked."I was going to the library to finish my chemistry project"I lied."Well I'll come with you" He gathered his books and left Nancy standing there with her crew, dumbfounded.

He turned to Nancy and his face was so pale but you could tell in his eyes he was angry.

"Call her a hairball again and that will be your last time " he warned.

As we walked to the library Joey didn't say anything but when I went to open the door to the entrance he stopped me."What's wrong ?"I asked pretending nothing happened. "I know you don't have a chemistry project to do Mandie "he said. That's when I remebered I had chemistry next period with him and that he had caught me in my lie.

"Alright Joey you win! I just didn't want to have a bad permanent record for beating her face in! "I said

"You? A bad girl? Never!"he chuckled.

"You know I wasn't going to make you leave right?" he asked.

"I just really didn’t want to be there in her presence it makes me want to gag"I said honestly"Alright so what are we going to do? I asked.

"Hey you want to skip school?" He asked. My eyes widened. I was a straight 'A' student with almost a perfect record except one or two incidents, but that was a different story.

"C'mon it'll be fun!" he pleaded.

"Alright fine".

We decided we would go to the local diner since at lunch we didn't eat anything.

"So how’s your hand?" I asked sipping my drink we had ordered.

"That's a question I should be asking you,how are you doing?" He asked.

"Oh I'm fine ....I guess?" I twisted my napkin under the table just thinking about it.

To be honest with myself everything was still fresh on my mind.I wasn't okay at all.

"Amanda you know you can talk to me okay?"He said softly.

He is sooo sweet sometimes.He is truly like a big brother to me.He'll fight the dude who broke my heart,and also be there for me when I'm down.

"Well...he told me that I had this unbearable attitude and that I was a bastard and the only reason why he dressed as a nerd was to get me in bed,then of course I slapped him" I said quickly.Just then Joey's face went into cold dark mode,instead of the chuckle I was hoping for.
