Prom. It's supposed to be one of the greatest moments in high school. One of the moments that you're supposed to look back on and reminisce. It's supposed to be like a milestone. A milestone of life, high school, and memories.
It's early in the morning when the guys get to my house. I decided since they all agreed to come over, I'd make them a big breakfast buffet.
I'm making Noah and the twins get mani pedis with me. They kind of refused at first but then I told them that if they didn't come then I would have to do it by myself. They finally agreed and we decided to meet at my house.
"You cooked!" Says Noah as he walks into my house.
"It's our last prom! I had to make it special." I say.
He smiles and starts digging in. Our nail appointment is at 10:30, our hair and makeup appointments are at 1:30.
The guys agreed to get haircuts but won't wear makeup. I'm wearing sweats and a dance shirt as we head to the nail salon. I can't wait for tonight. It's going to be magical.
After everything thats happened we all need some good in our lives. Even if it is just a high school dance.
"So, tonight's the night?" Noah says to me quietly.
"Yeah. I'm going to tell him. It's going to be amazing. Hopefully. Unless he doesn't say it back. IF he even says it back." I say starting to get nervous.
"If it's meant to be, then it will." He says to me.
Once we get back to my house, I usher the guys up to my room. We turn on some music and just have fun. We dance around and we get easily distracted. Eli is going to Prom with his dance tutor. I guess something good did come out of us making the basketball team join the dance team.
We are pretty good match makers. Noah chose someone from the Volleyball team again. I think Hannah again. I swear he's obsessed with Volleyball players. I think Jo and Drew are taking the Limston Twins to prom. I'm not entirely sure though. I'm finally wearing my dress and just slipped my shoes on.
I'm staring at myself in the mirror wondering how I got to be so lucky to go to prom with Brody Daniels. The Brody Daniels is my boyfriend.
Noah comes into my room.
"You look hot." He says straight out.
"Thanks I guess." I say.
"You're lovely date is here." He says.
I smile and we walk down the stairs. The entire way down Brody is beaming at me.
"Hi." He says.
"Hey." I say.
"You look utterly beautiful, like always." He says.
"As do you." I say smiling admiring the way his tux hugs his body. God you can still see the muscles bulging from his body.
We all head out to a limo and are off. We all have a few glasses of Champagne before we head into the dance and I may or may not be a bit tipsy. I'm dancing with all of my friends and all I can think of is, this is it. In a week we graduate. We have finals this week and than that's it.
And then we're all off to college. To chase our dreams. Most of us will never speak again. Others will grow old together. I look at Brody. Tonight is the night that I tell him that I love him. I've been waiting for the right moment and I can feel it coming.
"Alright, Rangers! Who's ready for you 2018 Prom King and Queen?"
Everyone screams and our principle smiles.
