Recap:

Pan jumps to life, "What if I could cure you? I could find a way to sever the tie between you and the disgusting pirate so you can remain a mermaid. I know that's all you want to be."

She scoffs, "I highly doubt you could. I've been searching for a cure for longer than I care to disclose. But sure, if you by some miracle found a cure for me, it would help change my mind." Taking note of his grin, she continues, "The key word is 'help,' Pan. It doesn't fix anything, but it would be a start."

"I'll take it. A start gives me a chance at setting things right. I can't lose you, Rena. Especially not because of a stupid mistake I made."

The next morning, Sirena wakes up in her hut and stays in bed for a while, considering if she should stay in bed all day. Her choice was made for her when Charlie bursts in and jumps on her bed. She lets out a groan as his knee hits her stomach.

"Charlie, I thought Pan told you to be gentle with me. I know I'm back, but do we really have to do this every morning again?" she chuckles.

"It's the only way we know you're up! You'd sleep past noon every day if I don't!" he cheers.

She sits up and pushes the boy off her gently, starting to get ready for a day with her Lost Boys. Pan may try to claim them, but the boys will always put her before him. "And there would be a bad thing?" They laugh together and she ruffles his hair. "Now, off with you so I can change."

"I duel you first today, so be ready!" he teases and runs out with a grin.

After changing into her old fighting outfit, she ties her hair up and looks in the mirror. She admires her outfit: black leggings, a brown leather vest, belt, and a loose blouse in her signature turquoise. She puts on her favorite boots to complete her outfit: brown leather that laces in the back. She grabs her sword, attaching the scabbard to her belt, then leaves her hut.

AN: This is what her outfit would look like, but with a pale turquoise blouse.

As she leaves, she hears the shifting of leaves outside her door. Drawing her sword as quietly as she can, she throws open the door and hits Charlie's sword with her own. "You couldn't let me get out of my hut and eat some breakfast before our duel?"

"What would be the fun in that?" he replies. They exchange several thrusts and blocks. Then Sirena rotates her blade around his and it flies into the air, disarming him. She catches his blade and they grin at each other as he raises his hands in surrender.

"You've gotten better since we last dueled, Charlie. You're becoming a skillful fighter." She returns his sword to him and ruffles his hair. "Now, I'm going to enjoy the breakfast I was on my way to before I was so rudely attacked."

"I'm still your favorite, right?" he says with his best puppy dog eyes.

"When did I say you were?" she jests. She leans in to whisper to him, "You'll always be my favorite Lost Boy, Charlie. As long as you stop jumping on me to wake me up." He laughs and she walks off to the food supply.

After she finished her breakfast, one of the younger boys approaches her with a curious look on his face. "Can I see your mark again?" He looks nervous, but he grins when he sees her smile.

She unlaces the cuff on her shirt and pulls up the sleeve. "Why the sudden interest in my mark, Mason?" she questions.

"Oliver saw your mark the other day and said that people sometimes make their own in whatever shape they want. Do you know how to do that?"

"Well, the permanent way is painful and probably not safe to do here." He frowns and hangs his head, disappointed. "But there is a way to get your own mark, temporarily."

His head snaps up to meet her eyes. "Can you give me one? I want a snake around my arm, like your mark but cooler!"

"My mark is magic, how can yours be cooler?"

"Cause it's a snake! Snakes are cool."

"How can I argue with that logic?" she laughs. " I'll need to get a couple things, but I can give you your mark in about an hour, okay?" He nods in excitement. "Now, go ask if any other boys want one, too." He nods again before dashing away with a huge grin on his face.

Knowing there are no henna trees in Neverland, she returns to her hut to conjure some of the ink. She shuts out the sounds of the camp and focuses on her task. After a few moments of reciting the spell mentally, she opens her eyes. She sees a large bottle of the ink appear in her hands through a cloud of deep blue smoke. Satisfied, she places it on a table and leaves camp to find something to use as the applicators. After finding some thick grass and using her magic to dry it, she returns to camp and is attacked by Mason.

"Do you have everything yet?" he asks as he tugs on her arm in excitement.

"Indeed I do. Gather the boys around the campfire," she instructs. Then she leans in to whisper to him, "I'll let you be the first, though." Excited, he runs off to get the others. Over the next few hours, Sirena draws whatever the boys want for their tattoos. By the end of the night, she has been hugged more times than she can count. She sits by the fire, happily massaging her sore hand as she listens to the excited chatter of the boys, admiring their new marks.

AN: Sorry it's been so long, I've had a crazy summer so far, but I am going to try to write more often once I adjust to working at 5 am... On another note, does anybody recognize Sirena's fighting outfit?
