Chapter Eight

The day went by smoothly but there were a lot who actually gave me death glares.

I'm not afraid if they'll hate me and all but I'm actually kind of scared that they will put NCT and the girls in line, even Lami! Just for me to stay away from them.

I'll be prepared to whatever they'll do to me as long as NCT, the girls and Lami won't be in trouble.

It's Saturday and we don't have classes. 

I checked the clock and it said 6:34 am.  I need to go to work at exactly 8!

I took a shower and picked out clothes. 

I wore a baby pink dress and pink doll shoes.  I braided my hair, put some light make-up on then left the dorm.

I saw some students relaxing and playing outside their dorms.  It's really quiet during the weekdays but I nevet imagined it would be this good to see people outside during weekends.

I was walking while taking small glances to the students having fun when a very familiar voice called me.

"Where are you going?" I looked up to see who it was and to my surprise...

Jeno's here.

I wonder why though.  Oh! maybe the dorm of the girl he likes is here.. Tss..

"What are you doing here? Isn't your dorm at the other side of this village?" He smiled at me while shaking his head.

"I was about to visit you.  The principal texted me your dorm address.  I was worried if your bruises are not being treated well." He's worried about me? Gosh! I feel really happy to hear that.

"Now that I've answered your question, I think it's time for you to answer me.  Where are you going?"

"Work.  If we're still gonna keep on chatting, I'm gonna be late for work." I told him and walked passed him.

As much as I still want to talk to him, I can't.  I have my goals.

"Wait up!" He yelled trying to catch up on me.

I just let him tag with me since that's what he wanted to do.  I wouldn't really mind having a very handsome boy following me though.

Exactly when we got to the bus station, There was already one waiting to be filled.  I was about to bring my wallet out to pay for our ticket, but Jeno stopped my hands and payed instead.

"I can pay you know." I told him.  He did nothing but smile.

He lead me to the vacant seats.  He let me sit beside the window while he sat beside me.

I couldn't help but smile.  This is actually the first time Jeno has been this close to me.

"Why do you go to work? Does your parents not give you any money?"

I didn't reply.  Instead, I just looked outside the window.  I never like talking about those people.  Those what you call "family"

"I see.  It must be personal.  I'm sorry for asking.  But where is your work?"

"I work at a restaurant cafè.  The owner's really nice and today is the day that her nephew will visit the cafè because he will take over her business when she retires." Jeno just nodded while smiling. 

Why does he always smile like that?!

Soon after the bus stopped, I told Jeno that we're here.  He got up and escorted me out the bus.

"Kids these days remind me of me and my husband" I heard a grandma say.

Me and Jeno turned our heads to look at her and she just smiled at us.

"Go to your date now.  Don't mind me.  You're a very cute couple." I blushed at her statement.

Me and Jeno went out and walked to the cafè.

The view is very calming here before going to the cafè.  This place may have a lot of buildings but it's really pretty.  It's actually one of my favorite places.

Since I admit that I kinda have a crush on Jeno, this made me feel like it's a date. 

He looks really handsome though.  He matches what I'm wearing.  A pink sweatshirt, ripped jeans and adidas sneakers.  It's very casual but it fits him very well.

A few minutes of walking together, we arrived at the cafè.  I faced him and he looked at me.  I was lost of words because of how he looked at me but I managed to speak.

"T-thank you for coming with me.  I'll get going."  I said and smiled at him.

I turned my back and walked towards the entrance.  I was about to open the glass door when someone opened it for me.

"After you, my lady."  I looked at the person and saw Jeno.

He must've noticed that I wasn't moving so he grabbed my arms and gently took me inside.

"What are you doing here?" Instead of answering me, he just smiled.  Seriously? When will he stop smiling at me and just answer me?

"Oh! Jeno! You're here! you too Jie!" I heard my boss say. 

She quickly ran to us and hugged Jeno.  After hugging him, she kissed me on the cheek.

"Jie, this is Jeno.  My nephew.  Jeno, this is Jie.  My favorite little worker." What?! Jeno is her nephew?!

"I know her aunt. I came with her." My boss seemed surprise but her expression then changed with a teasing look.

"Oh is that so? How? Are you somehow dating?" My boss asked while wiggling her eyebrows.

We both shook our heads and my boss laughed.

"Aunt she's a close friend of mine and she goes to the same school as me.  Besides, you already know that I like Jenny." I suddenly slumped down.  He didn't need to say it out loud in front of me.

My boss' smile disappeared.  She just nodded and gestured Jeno to go to the office which he immediately went.

When he entered the office, boss took my hand and made me sit with her at one of the tables and sighed.

"I don't like that Jennyfer girl.  She made my little nephew drift away from his friends and even take his time for this cafè.  Can you do me a favor Jie?" She looked at me with pleading eyes.

I had no choice but to nod my head.  She smiled at me sweetly and held my hand tight.

"Can you please be close to Jeno and make him stay away from Jenny? Even if it means staying with him and spending time with him?" Oh no...

"I-I don't know if I c-can do it because he's so attached to her.  B-but I'll try." She then smiled very wide and hugged me.

"Thank you sweetheart!" I smiled and hugged her back.

Hhmm, it's just like a thing called may the best win.

I just hope Jeno won't make it hard for me, since things are going to change around him.  I feel that me and Jenny will fight for his attention...
