Chapter 3: Let the GMG begin

As the clock struck midnight, the five of you went to the balcony, the announcing voice of the mascot of the grand magic games flooded Crocus.

"Attention all contestants participating in the Grand Magic Games. Gooood Morning. To narrow down the 113 guilds in this year's games to a bore manageable 8, let's begin the preliminary round!"

" So 112 guilds decided to go up against us in the grand magic games?" Sting questioned, leaning on the edge of the balcony as he smiled.

" The rules for the preliminary round are simple." The mascot said he guild inn began to rise, " Now you all will be participating in a race! The finish line is in the Domus Flau colosseum. Only the first 8 teams to reach it will move on to the Grand magic games!" A path starts to form in front of you leading to the sky labyrinth. " You see to use magic however you see fit. There are no restrictions!"

You formed a little ball of light in your hand, confidently smiling down at your magic, " This is my kind of race." You closed your hand, making  the ball of light go out to focus on what the mascot was announcing." So without further or due, let the Grand Magic Games preliminary round, Sky labyrinth, begin!"

Sting jumped the balcony onto the path, leading the rest of the group, " Well let's get going."

As you guys entered, you saw a lot of platforms, stairs and doors, expected for a crazy labyrinth, " So any ideas how to find the way out of this place?" You asked

Rogue looked around, " It has to be on the walls of the labyrinth so we should go to the center of this hell maze and look for the finish line there."

You guys neared the center of the sky labyrinth when a sound went off and the labyrinth began shaking and rotating.

Sting jumped onto another platform to prevent himself from falling, " Is this thing rotating?"

People from other guilds were falling out of the labyrinth. Personally, you found it amusing as you jumped to the same platform as Sting so you wouldn't fall " Geez, these people are pathetic. They can't even survive one simple gravity change."

" Open, gate of the balance, Libra." Drawing your attention to Yukino, one of her spirits was able to alter gravity for her and Rufus so they wouldn't fall.

" Cool spirit." Sting complimented.

You, on the other hand, we're thinking of better ways to take advantage of the spirit. When you looked up at the center of the labyrinth, you got your idea, " Hey, maybe your spirit can bring us down to the middle of this place."

Yukino asked her spirit to put the team on the center and she did as she was told. You guys looked around to see if there was a finish line anywhere.

" It's over there." Rufus pointed at a path that led to a door. None of you wasted another second to head for the finish line.

Mato , the mascot of the games, came up in front of you, " Congratulations team Sabertooth! You are the first to finish the preliminary round. You can now head back to your inn and rest up for tomorrow's opening ceremony."
