Out of the many worries and hazards of kingship, the greatest of these is the betrayal of family. Treason was our greatest threat. After I assumed the pride's throne I made sure to kill all cubs to ensure that only my genes would be passed on. Msaliti was a great huntress with three teenage sons.
I had let her sons stay in the pride as long as they followed the rules. There names were Hila, Kujifanya, and Mchezaji. Msaliti often spoke to her boys away from the pride. I was beginning to sense a funny feeling from Msaliti.
Meanwhile the feeling that had plagued my mine tortured me. Msaliti was definitely up to something. As king I had to put everyone in their place. The best way to see lion hierarchy is in picking order. I eat first, then come the cubs, then the adult lionesses, then the poor miserable weak lions and teens.
I was told that while I was on patrol Msaliti and her sons took over the pride. I had to patrol and told my lioness CEO Haki to keep the pride in shape. I went out on patrol again the next month. When I came back a horrible surprise awaited.
When I left Haki took charge. It turns out Msaliti and her sons got mad because of their place in the picking order, they had revolted and attacked and attempted to kill Haki. Luckily Mthunzi intervened and put Msaliti in her place.
Haki was badly injured so I stayed to watch over my CEO. Msaliti and her sons were punished for there actions, and a growing resentment began. Msaliti had tried to takeover the pride. Her first act of treason. Her sons I kept under my radar to. They had began to take a position as leaders.
They led hunts, making bad choices, and getting others injured. They had began to feel what real power felt like. They fought for their food,Got into many fights, Bullied the cubs, and began to act like they were king.
There ego had grown to big. I needed to show them to respect their king. Hila was the leader of the coalition. He led the band of brothers in all their troublesome deeds. They were traitors I knew that but they could change.
I had to set these boys in there places to avoid any trouble. Treason was the last thing I wanted. Minor acts of treason occurred but an attempt on my life would be the last straw.
