Bed Rest

Tonight is going to be horrible I thought to myself as I remembered my sister's party. "I wonder if she's still going to have it?" I asked myself before crawling out of bed. I had been trying to sleep all day but it was no use. I was wide awake. I made my way down the stairs when I heard Alyssa talking. "Alyssa, are-" "Shh. I'm on the phone" She said before going back to her conversation. I patiently waited for her to get off the phone but she just kept on talking. I eventually gave up and made my way back up the stairs.

I climbed into bed and tried to fall asleep. "This is useless."I said to myself as I turned to face the other wall.*Tick-Tock-Tick-Tock* I could hear the clock in the hallway. I couldn't see it but I could definitely hear it. It seems like I've been laying here forever, I thought to myself. I turned around so that I was now facing the clock. I checked the time. "What! It's only been 20 minutes! ARRRRGGGGHHH" I jumped out of bed and stormed down the stairs. When I got to the bottom I picked up the phone to see if she was still using it. Sure enough she still was.

I marched around the house for 10 minutes before I finally found Alyssa sitting on the old swing set in the back yard. I was shocked to see her. Alyssa rarely sits outside unless she's trying to tan but she usually goes to a tanning salon for that. I watched her as she sat there swaying back and forth. About 5 minutes went by before she said goodbye to whoever she was talking to, and hung up. She looked up and I guess she noticed me staring at her because she motioned for me to come outside.

I sat next to her as she asked me: "How are you feeling?" I was feeling better but I was still sore. "I feel fine" "Soooooo, I'm guessing the meds are working. "ya-" "Speaking of meds, you should probably take some more." Alyssa tends to interrupt me a lot but I don't mind...anymore.

I walked inside and as I was searching for the bottle, I remembered that Alyssa had left them in my room. I walked towards the stairs and when I reached the top I collapsed in front of my door. My rib hurt a lot and I wanted to scream in pain but I knew Alyssa had her party and I didn't want her to cancel it. I just laid there waiting. I didn't know what I was waiting for. I slowly stood up and grabbed onto the door nob. I turned it and walked into my room. I examined my room until I found my pills. I dumped 2 more out and slide them both into my mouth taking a glass of water with it.

I could hear Alyssa in the background, calling my name. "Desi!" She shouted over and over again like she was a robot or something. I went back down stairs and carefully walked to her. "What toke you so long?" She asked. "I uhm erm- I couldn't find the bottle." I hate having to lie to Alyssa. Actually I hate lying to everyone but I especially hate lying to Alyssa.
