*Tick-Tick-Tick* Everything was calm as the clock slowly ticked *Tick-Tick-Tick* I could hear Alyssa talking to her friends on the phone, Austin was at school and I was lonely. I rolled around the room looking at all the elderly and sick people. I didn't see anyone that I recognized. "I wish someone was here." I said to myself as I rolled off towards the elevator. I would normally take the stairs but my wheelchair made it impossible.

*Ding* I was at my floor. The doors opened and I was about to roll out when I noticed that the short blond girl was standing in front of me. She pushed by me not even acknowledging my presence. "Well that was rude." I said to myself before rolling out. I was half way to my room when I heard someone call my name. I turned around to see Lexi.

"How did you know I was here?" I asked her in disbelief. "Your name was in the newspaper the other day so I decided to come down and say hi." "What do you want from me?" I said rudely. "That's no way to talk to your friends." She said before making her way towards me. "Get away from me." I said before rolling off down the hall.

I could hear her right behind me. "Are you deaf?" I yelled at her. She froze in her tracks and let out an evil grin. She then threw something at me and it hit me on the head. "What the hell is yo-" She was gone. "Where did she go?" I asked myself. I looked around trying to find the object. It was another key chain. This one had a little cross on it. "What does this mean?" I mumbled under my breath before rolling towards my room.

I entered my room and pushed my way into bed. I then pressed the button for help. I nurse quickly arrived a few minutes later."What seems to be the problem?" She asked. "Can you help me get into my bed?" "Sure." She walked over to me and lifted the rest of me out of the wheelchair and onto the bed. "Would you like the covers on?" She asked. "No thank you." "It that everything? She asked sounding concerned. "Yes. Thank you for your help" "Anytime." She said before walking out the door. I was alone. Again.

Alyssa entered my room. "What room number is this?" I asked her. She jumped. "I didn't even realize you were in here." "Sorry." I said. "So what room number is this?" She walked out and look around. She came back in a few moments later. "It doesn't say." She walked over and sat down in the chair beside my bed.

"Why do you want to know?" She asked. "I'm just curious." "Curiosity killed the cat." She said. She smiled and looked around my room. "Arn't you lonely?" She asked. "Very." "Why are you in bed?" She asked looking very confused. "I'm bored and there's nothing else to do." "Where's Austin?"  "He's at school." "But it's 5 PM?!" "He's working on a project."  "I think he's cheating on you..."  "He is NOT cheating on me!" I yelled.

A nurse quickly ran into the room. "I'm sorry but you must leave. Your upsetting the patient." "What kinda place is this?!" Alyssa said before walking out.  "Are you okay?" The nurse asked in a calm but caring voice. "Yes" "I'm going to go now. If you need anything just press the button." "Wait!" I said before she left. "Your always here giving me food and taking care of me... You know my name but I don't know yous. What's your name?" "Brielle" She said before she started walking towards the door. She stopped at the doorway and turned around to face me. She instantly winked and walked out the door.

"Brielle" I said to myself trying to think of where I had heard that name before. That's when it hit me. Brielle was Lexi's older sister. She moved out a few years ago. That's why I didn't recognize her. Brielle stood for Gabrielle. She hated that name though, ever since high school musical came out. She didn't even look like herself. "Knock knock" I heard a familiar yet friendly voice say. "Austin!" I said in a sigh of realif. He snapped me right out of my thoughts. Now the only thing on my mind was Austin.

"I thought you weren't coming today?" I asked him. "There was a change of schedule. Someone didn't show up so we got off early." "I'm so glad your here I said. I wish I could get up and kiss him. He must of read my mind because suddenly he leaned down towards me. He kissed me sending even more shocks down my spine. His touch always drove me crazy craving more.

"How ya feeling?" He asked as he pulled away from me. "Much better now." He smiled and gave me a quick kiss. Something about him was telling me that there was something wrong. "What's wrong?" I asked him while propping myself up on my elbows. "It just... I'm sorry." "For what?" I asked sounding confused. "This is all my fault." "What?! How is this your fault? You did nothing wrong. It was Carme-" "I should've taken the bus home like I was going to. If I did then non-" He started to cry. I didn't realize that he was the sensitive type. I was sitting up now.

I quickly rapped him in my arms and held him. "Shhhhhh. Don't cry. It's not your fault. It could've happened to anyone.Bad things happen to good people." He stopped crying. He turned around so that he was facing me now. Then... he kissed me. I was sucked into my own thoughts. All of a sudden there was a knock on the door. Austin pulled away from me and walked over to the chair. He sat down pretending that nothing had happened.

"Come in." I said trying to sound weak and innocent. The door flew opened widely but there was no one there. "Hello?" I said. Austin stood up and walked towards the door. That's when 'Daddy' jumped out of the hallway laughing at the expression on Austin's face. "Daddy! What are you doing here? How did you know I was here? What toke you so long to come home? Did you see Carmen yet? Did you-" "Whoa whoa whoa. Hold yer horses" He said.

"First of all tell me, what happened to you?" "She got in a-" Austin responded before being interrupted. "Who's this?" Dad pointed towards Austin. "That's Austin. He's my uhm...er... uh boyfriend..." "Yer boyfriend!?" He looked straight at Austin.  "Daddy?" "Sorry love, I was just checking out your boyfriend." He turned his head away from Austin so that he was looking at me instead. Dad gave me a look telling me to kick Austin out of the room. "Austin, can you-" "Sure" He said. He got up and walked out of the room.

"He hasn't hurt you, has he?"  "No daddy. He's a really good guy."  "If he hurts you, I swear..." "DAD!" "I'm sorry. You're my daughter and I want nothing more than to protect you." "It's okay. No driving this one away. Okay daddy? He's a keeper"

"I love you" "I love you too" *Knock-knock-knock* "Come in!" "I'm sorry to inform you but visiting hours are over." "Well I guess this is goodnight. Stand up and give yer father a big ol' bear hug" "I thought you knew..." "Knew what?" He looked puzzled. "I'm paralyzed from the waist down" "You're what!" He shouted. "Sir, you must leave" said the nurse. "Hold your horses there Missy" He turned back to face me. "Why didn't you tell me?" "I'm sorry. I thought you knew." "How the hell was I suppose to know?!" He sounded mad. "Daddy..." "Sir." said the nurse again. "I'm outta here." He quickly left the room with the nurse slowly behind him.
