***if you see book that i mention below, do nOT continue reading because there will be some spoilers ahead (not sure if it's going to be major spoilers but just skip to the next chapter just in case. ok you've been warned.***

hi the title is a bit misleading. yes i am updating in this "book" but that's not what i mean. i've been reading a lot lately and i just want to update on what i have been reading. 

so, i've just finished reading the book "Esperanza Rising" for spanish class a few days ago and honestly it's definitely better than the whole "Tia Lola" series (though there are some parts i liked in tia lola) but Esperanza Rising is quite boring for me :P 

i was hOOKED in the beginning where most of the main characters were introduced in personality and the plot was amazing. the father died. tio luis wanting to marry the mother. the house burning down. they all go to california except abuelita. basically their whole life gets thrown off of balance. lots ofdrama, problems, and angst.

yeah yeah that's great and all BUT WHAT THE HELL WAS THE WHOLE MIDDLE AREA OF THE BOOK. YES THEY WORK IN THE CABINS AND THE GUYS WORK IN THE FEILDS. YES ESPERANZA SHOWS CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT BUT IT WAS THE SAME THING. EVERY. TIME. THE SEASONS. CHANGE. ALL WORK.

i suppose the only interesting parts were when mama got sick from the dust storm or when isabel realized she wouldn't get picked to be la reina (the queen) for the may thingy (i forgot what its called and i'm to lazy to look back lol).  

overall i just thought most of it was boring. my opinion, sorry.

OKAY. now, i'm currently reading "Everything, Everything" and i'm almost done with it. and i've got to say that this book is what's currently keeping me WELL ALIVE. i need to know what happens towards the end! THIS WHOLE BOOK HAS LOTS OF DRAMA, ANGST, ROMANCE, A GOOD PLOT, WELL DEVELOPED CHARACTERS,A ND GENERALLY THE EPITOME OF WHAT I FIND AMAZING IN A BOOK MIXED INTO ONE AND I HAVE NO IDEA HOW NICOLE YOON MANAGED TO DO THAT.

is it weird that from the beginning when Olly made the bundt cake do the whole suicide thing i automatically imagined him as bo burnham from his cynical humor. 

i'm up to the part where maddie finds out that she isnt really sick and she's with carla outside on the porch and blah blah talking about how she can't leave. 

can i tell you how many times i've cried during this book and it's not even the end yet?!?!?! 3. 3 fricking. times. a BOOK HAS NEVER MADE ME CRY BEFORE WHAT THE FUCK. AND ESPECIALLY NOT 3 TIMES. 

i really like the way the book was written because it describes something that's not really essential to the story really really descriptively. this doesn't really work well in other books because it doesn't advance the plot, but in everything, everything it really truly does. you can see how maddy thinks of a life she's never lived before even if the author is just describing an astronaut in space.

i ALSO like how it seemed like  olly, or carla, or maddy herself was the antagonist or the bad guy in the beginning when the mother was the bad guy all along??? that was such an unexpected plot twisst that i didn't see coming until the doctor in hawaii sent maddy the results.

i love how this book makes you think. a lot. there had been times where i just sat there wondering the same thing maddy is. this is the type of book that really gets you involved and sucked into the plot. everything, everything is now my fAVORITE BOOK EVER. 10/10 i will definitely read again. and again. until i'm satisfied. (sorry "by your side" by kasie west. you've held up until this moment when i've read everything, everything :P)

i've ranted so much bout everything. everything that i don't know what to talk about next bwahahaha. OH. RIGHT.

okay. so after i finish everything. everything (which is probably tonight if i read fast and long enough) i will then read a manga-- ok stop

YES SOME PEOPLLE MAY NOT CALL A MANGA A REAL BOOK BUT IF IT'S GOT A COVER AND A BACK COVER AND PAGES IN BETWEEN THEN IT SURE AS HELL IS A BOOK. (well it's sort of a comic but cough)

okay so my friend viv gave me not one but 2 mangas which is "a silent voice" pt 1 & 2. i was immedietly attracted by the cover as how pretty and amazing it looks. the art style is defnitely influential when making comics or mangas. it helps bring the book alive. the plot of it also got me hooked to the idea of a bully and an impared girl somehow ending up liking each other (correct me if i made any mistakes on what the book is about) i'm definitely excited to read this series!
