Chapter III

Whenever people said "God moves in mysterious ways," Maricar never really understood it.

Most of the time, those words were only used when something painful or confusing happened—especially when life didn't go as planned.

But now, she finally understood. And she could say it with confidence: It was all by His grace.

It wasn't because of anything she did—or didn't do. Everything she had now wasn't because she deserved it, but because God was simply gracious.

Seven years had passed. She wasn't 28 anymore. Now that she was 35, she didn't just feel older—she felt wiser.

"Happy Birthday, Mommy! Happy Birthday, Mommy! Happy birthday, happy birthday... Happy birthday, Mommy!"

Her kids entered the room with a cake in hand.

"Wow..." she smiled, her heart full of love.

"Make a wish, My," said Gryffin, the second child, holding the cake. Slyther, the youngest, hugged her from behind, Huffle sat beside her, and Raven stood in front, carefully supporting the cake.

Was there really anything else to wish for?

Everything—everything—had already been provided.

In the last seven years, God had given her everything she needed... even the things she never dared to ask for.

But still, she closed her eyes and whispered a silent prayer.

Lord, I can't ask for more. I'm grateful for everything You've done. I became the best version of myself.
Just make me stronger when trials come, so I can face them with a brave heart. Amen.

She opened her eyes and blew out the candles.

Seven years ago, she didn't even want to celebrate her birthday—because it was also the day Dominic left her. She used to dread this day. But somewhere along the way, she had moved forward. And before she even realized it, she was already free.

A lot can happen in a year. Take Wizards, for example—a themed restaurant she built in honor of her children. Inspired by her love for Harry Potter, she named her kids—and now the restaurant—after the magical world she once adored.

But the real magic wasn't fantasy. It was love.

Wizards is a child-friendly restaurant designed for families. Here, parents didn't have to worry if their children ran around. They could enjoy their meals without stressing over safety.

During Wizards' first year, many doubted it would succeed. But one day, a tired mom came in—just looking for a quiet place to rest with her two kids.

Maricar offered them anything they wanted. She even helped care for the children so the mom could relax. Later, the husband arrived and thanked her.

The next day, people started coming in. By the hour.

Turns out, that family was influential. They hired her for private catering. And even now, they're still loyal clients.

Because of Wizards, she was able to send her kids to good schools. She was living a life full of purpose, peace, and joy.

She never imagined life could change this much—and so quickly.

It's true: when God takes something away, it's because He has something better planned.

New people entered her life and helped her heal. They taught her how to forgive and trust God again.
