SO this is it. The final chapter. I've taken about 2 years to complete this because I'm so bad at organising my life, but I've finally finished it.

This is an epilogue and it features snapshots of their life.

Please enjoy and vote and comment.

[3 Months Later]

When Shawn and Camila had slow, they really meant it.

After their dinner with Rio, they had been very hesitant to spend any more time together than a couple of nights of the week, both with Rio for the next couple of the months. They were focused on easing the boy back into the life he'd known before the drama, where it was as simple as Shawn and Camila dating because that's what they were returning too, just with a biological mother as well.

They hadn't stayed at each other's places since that night when they made amends, they were that hesitant and unsure.

Their kisses were soft, unsure and doubtful and their conversations were somewhat more withdrawn then they had been previously. They were basic, barely touching the surface and it was affecting them, but neither of them would take the next step.

But the pace was felt to be too slow in the eyes of their friends as after about three months when they returned home from a rare evening without Rio, they found the house bare and empty with no signs of life.

"Rio?" Camila called out as they stepped over the threshold and glanced around the house. "Bud?" Shawn called as he popped his head around the corner to see if he was in the living room. "Rachel?" She tried calling out and stepped into the kitchen, to find no one in the vicinity, sighing she placed her bag down and rested her arms on the counter.

She felt the rough surface of a sheet of paper and pulled back looking down to find a quick note with the familiar handwriting of both Rachel and Rio.

Went over to Dean's for the night. Enjoy yourselves. 😏

-Rachel

Love you, Daddy! Bye Mila!

-Rio

Camila couldn't help the small smile on her face at the sweet message from her boyfriend's son, even if he had avoided mentioning any sort of affection for herself.

While Shawn and Camila's relationship may have seemed slow-moving to many, the real relationship that had taken its time was the one between Camila and Rio. No matter how hard she tried, the little boy just couldn't seem to push behind the memory of Camila declaring that she was not obligated to look after him.

She'd tried appealing to him, through simple conversations while sitting at the television or while waiting in a shop for Shawn, but he would merely reply with one-word answers to her despair.

She'd spent some nights crying to Shawn about it and he'd tried to reassure her that they would fix their relationship eventually, it would just take time but she was struggling because the little boy's animosity hadn't faded, even after three months.

She shook herself out of her thoughts as she felt Shawn's arms wrap around her waist in a rare display of affection. "What are you looking at?" She held up the note and he quickly scanned his eyes over it before chuckling. "Meddlers." He murmured causing Camila to giggle.

"Well, guess that means I've got you all to myself." He smirked as he grabbed her hand and dragged her behind him and up the stairs. "Shawn?" He didn't answer her calls. "What are we doing?" She laughed as he opened his bedroom door and rushed in, slamming the door shut behind him before chucking her onto the bed and crawling over her.
