THE DAY HAD turned to night, the sun slowly crept away becoming one with the earth's surface as the moon began to light up the city. The window I sat by had a beautiful view, well a tiny bit beautiful, it showed every inch of the east side of the city, as well as a nice view of the big dipper that stood in the sky, with other shapes that the stars made as well. I saw feral's roaming down below, they seemed dormant. Most stood in place hovering, while others lay or sat by the floor. We're lucky that they weren't affected by the acid rainstorm, if they had been this entire city wouldn't have been safe. The acid's would've taken over, forcing our people to find elsewhere for shelter. We wouldn't have made it. We still wont make it. I let Poppy stay here, with all the signs with everything I knew. From what Eliot and Oscar knew, and the fear they showed from the whole situation. I saw what happened to Mira, what Poppy did to her, yet I fell asleep with ease. Maybe my mind was playing tricks on me, I was tired after all, plus if Mira was infected it'd take longer than one night for her to turn. Everyone turns in two days. Everyone.

There was a nice sound of silence in the room as everyone slept comfortably. It was around 3 am roughly so I was used to getting up this early compared to everyone else. I just spent the spare time scanning the room and everyone in it. Everyone slept in a different position, some in funny ways and others not so much... well I couldn't imagine sleeping like that. Liam snored while he spooned Rae in her sleep, poor girl I thought to myself. Tatum was by the door in a chair, his arms folded and his head bobbing, the guy never sleeps fully, I'd bet money that he's sleeping with one eye open right now. Lilith slept in a small cot by the far window, tossing around in her sleep, I had only just now realized how much these people counted and depended on her. They were angry that she hadn't had shared the news with them earlier and decided to cool down by sleeping with everyone else in the other room, than staying in here with her. Oh and Poppy? The little cuddle bug, lay sprung out on my belly, her legs and arms, came out over my sides and her head was buried into my boobs. I didn't mind it but I know it sounds kind of weird, but it didn't bother me. I brought my hand up and stroked the side of her head, moving her hair out of her face. Everything was peaceful until like always something interrupts those peaceful moments, that so rarely come by.

Everyone got up from there sleep in a panic to the loud banging noises, we were all alarmed, we thought maybe people were just fooling around until the blood wrenching screams followed. Tatum and Liam along side Lilith acted quickly, they un-holstered they're hand guns, picking up flashlights, that they swung over top of their guns turning them on. The door had three lights hovering over it, as they walked slowly towards the entrance that leads out to the hallway. Rae got up and moved at a fast pace over to me. She ushered me to move backwards as she stood in front, her left hand out as if to block me, as she held her gun tightly in her right. Liam opened the door first and was immediately attacked. Two feral's pushed him in, falling on top of him. Tatum lined up his gun and shot the first while Lilith mimicked his positions and took out the second one. They were loud and caused my ears to ring from how close we all were, as the stink that feral's give off filled the air, the blood squirting from both of the feral's head flooding the floor. Liam got up with wide eyes until calming down and nodding at Tatum and Lilith, he brought his hand up and motioned them to follow him out the door, where all you could hear was the snarling of the undead. I tried to hush Poppy's cry's, and when I realized that I couldn't I covered her mouth with my hand. A minute later people came rushing through the main door to our room, it was all the people that were apart of the community, following them was Tatum, Lilith and Liam. Lilith slammed the door behind them, until commanding two of the larger men that had entered to hold it tight. They obeyed and I watched as they struggled, the hinges of the door rattling almost breaking off from the pressure pushing inwards on the other side. Lilith was quick to hush the people and commanded them to push the furniture in front of the doors, you could hear that terrible screeching noise, of the beds moving scratching the floor. It sounded just like nails on a chock board. As the others continued to push furniture in front of the door, Darrin, Dane and Lilith soon approached.
