Chapter 6

Shai Pov.

It has been a week since the Peter thing and Stacy has been ignoring me since. When I come up to her, she gives me a look and walks away to this Candor snob, Lucy. She has all the boys over her and she acts like a slut all the time. But I think I am the only one who doesn't like her. When I get to the cafeteria for dinner I sit alone and just stare at my food. My friend won't talk to me and Peter won't leave me alone. I thought joining Dauntless would make life better, but I guess I was wrong.

After I'm done I walk to the dorms. When I get there Stacy and Lucy are there. I walk to Stacy. "Can we talk?" I ask and she just nods. When we get in the hallway, I ask her, "what's going on? Why are you ignoring me?" I raise my eye brows at her. She rolls her eyes. "Like you don't know why." She snaps. " I have no idea what you mean." I say. "You told Eric that Peter tried to rape you, when all he done was kiss you!" She shouts. I put hands into fist and clench my teeth. "That dick!" I yell. "Everything he said to you was not true, he did try to rape me! He touched me!" I yell so load it bounces off the walls. She rolls her eyes and shakes her head. "He came from Candor, he wouldn't lie." She states.My eyes fill with tears and I shake my head and run away from her. While I'm running I run into a wall. And fall to the ground I look up to see that the wall was Eric.

Eric Pov.

I walk through the halls toward the dorms to find Shai. I need to tell her that she needs to tell Four about her past. As I walk the halls some girl runs into me and falls on the ground. I'm about to yell at them but she looks up and I realize it's Shai. She has tears pouring from her eyes. I just stare at her and look into her icy blue eyes. I get out of my gaze and help her up. "What's wrong?" I ask her. "Peter told Stacy a lie about what happened a week ago and she believes him and not me." She says with a sob. "Let's go to my apartment, I need to talk to you." I say and turn and walk to towards my apartment and she follows.

When we get there we sit on the sofa in silence. "Shailene." I say breaking the silence. She looks at me and raises her eye brows. "I really think we should tell Four about your past." I say. She shakes her head looking at the door. "Shai, he doesn't have a very good past either and I think he can help better than I could." I say trying to get her to look at me. When she finally does she nods and looks back at the door. "Okay, but before I go get him, tell me what Peter said to Stacy." I say and she nods. "Stacy told me he said, 'that I told you that Peter tried to rape me when all he did was kiss and nothing else'." She says with clench teeth. I ball my hands into fist and shout, "that asshole!" She nods in agreement. "I'm going to go get Four now." I sat walking towards the door. She nods.

I get to Four's and knock on the door. He opens it and raises his eye brows. "I convinced Shai to tell you what happened to her past in Erudite." I say. "Why do you want her to tell me?" He asks. "Because I don't know any one else who was abused in their past, that I trust." I say quietly. His eyes widen and he quickly grabs his keys and follows me to my apartment. We get back and Shai gives a shaky breath. Me and Four sit and wait for Shai to speak. "Shai, you can trust me I was..." He pauses and takes a deep breath. "I was abused too." He says with unease. Shai's mouth drops and her eyes widen. After she gets over that she begins to tell Four every thing she told me. When she's done she burst into tears leans into my chest. I wrap my arms around her. I look at Four and he stares wide eyed. I mouth "I know" to him and he nods. "Shai, my father abused me by whipping me with his belt on my back." He says trying to comfort her but it doesn't work. Then there's a knock on the door. I answer it and there stands Max and...
