Chapter 8

Shai Pov.

When I wake up in the morning, I feel warm arms wrapped around me. Wait! Warm arms?! I sit up like a flash of lighting. Then I remember I'm at Eric's. And ever thing that happened yesterday runs through my head. Apparently when I jumped up it woke Eric. "What's wrong?!" He asks. "Nothing, I just forgot I was here." I say with a sigh. He sighs in relief and plops back on his pillow. "What time is it?" I ask. He looks at his watch. "Six even though training not in till two hours we should probably be getting ready." He says. I nod. "Get in the shower and I will wash your clothes." He says getting up from the bed. "No, I'll just go back to the dorms." I say standing up. He sighs and shakes his head. "Why is it every time I try to offer you something you have to down it?" He says grinning at me. I shrug and smile. "Go take a shower." He says pointing at the bathroom. I sigh. "Fine." I say and walk to the bathroom and shut the door behind me.

Eric Pov.

Shai walks in the bathroom and shuts the door behind her. I grab her clothes and throw them in the washer. I decide to go get some muffins for breakfast. I write Shai a note and stick it back of the bedroom door. As I walk through the halls, I turn corner to find Peter and Stacy making out. I glare at them in discuss. "Really Peter, first you hit on Shai and then on her friend. Your really sick you know that." Peter whips his head around and his eyes widen. Stacy looks down embarrassed. "But I guess she's not really her friend any more after your little lie you told." I cross my arms and walk by them but stop before I turn the corner. "And Peter I hope you know we have cameras." I glance at him and his face goes pale. I smirk and continue to the cafeteria.

Shai Pov.

I get out of the shower, with a towel wrapped around my body. I walk out and find my clothes freshly washed on the bed. I walk over the door to lock it while I get dressed then I see a note.

Shai,

Went to the cafeteria to get some breakfast be back in little while.

I smile a little and I really don't know why. I mean all it said was he was getting breakfast. I quickly get dressed and wait in the living room for him to get back. I decide to look around the living room. Then I find a book shelf. I look at the title of each book. I stumble upon this one called 'Dauntless World Records'. I grab it and read it on the sofa.

Eric Pov.

When I get back, Shai is on the sofa reading a book wide eyed. I chuckle at her expression. She looks up at me and smiles. She looks a lot better than yesterday. Her tear stained eyes are gone. Her frown is replaced with a smile. Her frizzy hair, is now a smooth, shiny brown. I stare at her for a long time. When she realizes it she blushes and covers her face with the book. I snap out of my gaze. I hand her the muffin and mumble, "Sorry." For staring at her like I did. "It's okay." She says with a smile. "I have to tell you something I saw in the hallway, and your probably are going to win your fight today with a lot of anger." I say sitting on the sofa with her. She swallows her piece of muffin, probably so she won't choke on it when I tell her. She's still got that Erudite brain. "So in the hallway I saw Peter and Stacy..." I say and pause for a moment. I glance at her, I can already tell she knows what I'm going to say. She's just not sure of it yet. "Kissing." I finish and she just stares right into my eyes with anger boiling inside her. "But let me just tell you what I said to them." I say with grin. She gives a nod. "I said, 'Really Peter, first you hit on Shai and then on her friend. Your really sick you know that.'" I say and she smiles. "And then I said, 'But I guess she's not really her friend any more after your little lie you told.'" I say with a grin. "Finally I said before walking off was, 'And Peter I hope you know we have cameras.' And Peter's was as pale as snow!" I explain. She starts to laugh a little and smiles. Shes so beautiful when she's smiling, laughing, happy. She's always beautiful even when she's crying her eyes out or fighting to the death. I think I like her more than a friend but I'm not sure if she likes me back.

-Ohh! Eric just admitted she has feelings for Shai that aren't just for a 'Friend zone relationship'! But does she have those same feelings towards him?! I guess you will have to find out!
