Keith sighed as he held Kuron in his arms close to his chest. He slept through most of the funeral service and Keith hoped it stayed that way. He held in most of his tears as Shiro's siblings all gave their speeches, first Lance, the oldest, then Hunk, the second youngest, and last Pidge the youngest of the four. Now Keith was shocked when Pidge spoke, she was usually very to the point monotone about her words. But, when she came to say Shiro's name she burst into tears and finished up quickly to sit next to lance and cry into his shoulder. Now it was Alfor's turn, the look on his face was a mix of pain and anger. Not cause Shiro was dead, no he knew Shiro was very much alive. But he had a choice of whether to kill Keith and Kuron or have his son beheaded for being with Keith. He thought about the first option except sending Kuron off to another pack. But after seeing him, and seeing how much he looked like Shiro he couldn't bring himself to do it. Not to mention the fact that if Keith was killed, no doubt the vampire clans in the area would wipe out the entire pack. No questions asked under their leaders orders. He took a deep breath and looked over the crowd.

"We are here to mourn the loss of my son Shiro. He was a great warrior, a role model to the pups, a fierce leader, a good brother, a good son... and most of all, a loyal friend. He was taken from us during the war across the seas, fighting honorably to protect the pack and the elders. He was a loving mate, and I would like to read a letter he sent to me 'Dad, I'm sorry that I-" Alfor paused to swallow the lump in his throat. "I'm sorry that I made most of my time with you difficult. I know all your scolding was to make me grow up. But, I just wanted to make you proud, and training was the best way I could do it. Being chosen was an honor, I hope that I made you proud through my efforts in the war. I love you. P.s. Don't be so hard on Pidge, she's young. Don't make another me" his breath stuttered. "My son was selfless when he knew he needed to be. Brave for his siblings, his pack, and for me... And with a new life he created, his legacy can be carried on forever." He said before stepping away. Keith held back a sob so he didn't alarm Kuron.
Soon they rose to take turns seeing the body. They left the casket open for the pack to lay to rest with his scent but covered his body to shield them from the mangled mess they claimed his body to be in. Keith went first after the family. He gently woke Kuron and leaned him over the casket letting him take in Shiro's scent. Kuron cooed and whined when they walked back to their seats. He cried softly wondering why he couldn't go to the scent.

"Shhh, it's okay my love. Daddy's in a better place. I can tell you all about him. So you don't have to miss him." He whispered to him. "You'll be okay. I promise. We'll be okay" he said kissing Kuron's head.

They had the rest of the pack stay at the house along with Keith and his father. All reminiscing over their experiences with Shiro. Most of the females gathered around Keith to see Kuron. He was fine at first until they began to touch his feet, hands and pinch his cheeks. He squirmed and began to  cry curling into Keith to hide from the females.

"Sorry, he isn't used to strangers playing with him." He said as he stood to find Lance and Alfor. Kuron slowly stopping whining and tugged at Keith's shirt whimpering and gurgling. Keith nodded and turned to his small diaper bag and shook up a bottle and popped it into Kuron's mouth. He sucked on it happily. Keith swiftly moved through the house until he found Alfor, his dad and Lance talking. They turned to him briefly.

"Keith are you sure you want to change? There's no promise that you can become a vampire again." His father said. He nodded.

"Yes. Dad. I do, I'll still be your son if that's-" he shook his head.

"I just wanted to know you were sure about this." He said. "I will support you in this. I trust your choice." He said before hugging him and ruffling Kuron's hair. "Besides, it'll be good for Kuron." Alfor nodded in agreement.
