After about 30 minutes of fighting off his nap, Kuron finally fell asleep after Keith bounced him and sang to him. Keith carefully laid him down on his bed. He walked back to the living room and laid on it face first, groaning. Lance laughed.
"He was a hassle to go down?" He asked. Keith nodded and groaned.
"He's been fighting naps more and more." Keith said sighing. "He's also been asking more questions about Shiro. And I cant answer any of them..." he said sighing. Lance frowned a bit.
"I can talk to him." Lance offered. Keith sat up and looked down at his lap.
"How could I have mated with him, birthed his child, became a werewolf and still not know much about him." Keith said irritated. "And Kuron will never know what Shiro was like. And it's all my fault." He said tearfully. Lance frowned.
"It is not your fault Shiro is gone." He said sternly. Keith glared at him.
"No it is! I over heard Alfor! Its cause he was with me. Cause he mated me!" Keith said accusingly. Lance froze and swallowed hard. "So it's TRUE? It is my fault!" He said as tears streamed down his cheeks. "How can I face Kuron with that? What if he finds out?" He said.
"How do you think he'll feel?" Keith asked. Lance sighed and pulled Keith into a hug.
"Stop. It's not your damn fault. You loved Shiro. That's it. The damn elders decided they hated the relationship. It's their fault." Lance said. Keith sniffled then pulled back. "Don't blame yourself for what someone else picked for him. They had it out for you. They wanted you two apart." He said. Keith stayed silent looking into his eyes then down at his lips. He pressed forward kissing him. Lance's eyes widened before closing them and kissing him back. Keith moved to wrap his arms around Lance's neck. Lance sighed slightly before pulling back and standing up.
"Lance? What's wrong?" He asked frantically looking up at Lance worried. Lance shook his head.
"No. We can't do this. This is wrong... Even if I want it." Lance said sighing and running his hand through his hair. Keith frowned.
"Why? It's been years." Keith protested. "Don't you want me? You've been here since I've had Kuron. You're practically his father figure!" he continued.
"Of course I want you! I've wanted you since you came into the damn pack house the first time! But Shiro had you and I had to let go." He shot back. "Even if Shiro passed, it doesn't mean I step in and mate with you!" Lance said firmly.
"Why not?" Keith asked. "We both want each other. And we can have each other." Keith said looking up at Lance.
"It's wrong. We can't be together." Lance said shaking his head. "I can't do that to Shiro." he said sighing. "I know you still feel lost and you haven't gotten over Shiro." He said as he grabbed his coat. "I won't do that to you or myself." Lance said as he turned to leave. "I need to leave you alone for a while..." he said before walking out. Keith frowned and curled up pulling his knees to his chest.
"Shiro... Why can't you be here? Why did you have to leave me?" He asked himself sniffling trying not to cry.
_____________
I'm coming home
Shiro took a deep breath as he rode in the back of the taxi from the airport. After settling everything down with Lotor and the new order of the clan. He finally got a flight back home. While he was happy and more than excited to see his family. He was extremely anxious, he didn't know how he'd react to Keith's grave. He'd broken down before dealing with it, having to actually see it as confirmation... He didn't know if he could handle it.
I'm coming home
He watched as the scenery went by slowly going by. He took a deep breath and rolled down the window taking in the smell. He leaned back, what does he even have to come back to? Aside from his family, what else did he have with his pack?
Tell the world, that I'm coming home.
He smiled a bit, he missed Pidge, Hunk, Lance, even his father. He missed Pidge knowing everything, Hunk's cooking, even Lance being a pain in the ass know-at-all. He sighed, even Alfor being strict on him about training to become the pack leader.
I know my kingdom awaits...
Shiro frowned a bit, after he reunited with everyone and caught up... What was next? He didn't have a mate, how could he have another? He didn't want another one. He wanted Keith.
And they've forgiven my mistakes.
As he pulled up to the pack house he paid the taxi driver he stepped out walking up to the doorstep. He knocked and waited taking a deep breath. Once the door opened he came face to face with Alfor. He smiled a bit.
"Hey dad..." He said simply. Alfor pulled him into a tight hug and stood there shaking a bit.
Let the rain wash away all the pain of yesterday
Soon Pidge and Hunk came down.
"Dad who was at the-" Pidge froze when she saw Shiro. He turned to her and before he could speak she jumped to hug him, she sobbed into his shoulder. He smiled and hugged her back tightly as tears streamed down his cheeks. "I knew you weren't dead! I knew it!" she cried. Hunk stood there in shock.
I'm coming home
Hunk ran to him and hugged him tight crying as well. "I didn't know Pidge was gonna be so right about you being alive." He said as he hugged them. Shiro chuckled and pulled back looking around.
I'm coming home
"Where's Lance?" Shiro asked. Hunk and Pidge fell silent. Alfor sighed.
"He's with Keith, in an extra home for Keith." Alfor said. Shiro blinked at him in disbelief.
"What?"
Tell the world that I'm coming...
Home.
