[*Sorry for the delay. I was busy yesterday, therefore couldn't publish this chapter. Tomorrow there will be a new chapter.*]

Simon

After that night, things with Elio started to get normal. After school, he’d come over and I’d invite over Nick, Leah, and Abby. Then we watch TV. It’s fun, but whenever Elio stares at me, I start to lose my mind. Up to this point, I just want him to be mine.

That sounds a little possessive, but it’s true. He is such a calm, quiet, and nice person. The only problem I have is that when we are at lunch, Elio always sits somewhere else. So what I did is I invited him to sit with us. When I asked him, he had an expression on his face. It looked like he was shocked that I asked him. But I didn’t say anything.

As I sit down, I see Elio walk up to me with his lunch tray. I give him a gesture to sit down next to me.

“Hey, Simon.” he says. I smile when he says my name.

“Hey.” I say. I’m usually an open-minded person, but when Elio talks to me, I start to get shy. It’s not like me, but that’s the power that Elio has over me. The problem is that he doesn’t even know he has it.

“Where’s the rest of the group.” he asks.

“They’re probably in the lunch line.” I say. They usually get at the end of the line so I can get as much as alone time with Elio as I can. Even though I have three classes with him and he comes over all the time.

“Oh. Okay.” he says. He looks down at his hands. He starts to play with them. I like when he does that for some reason. I think to me it’s great to know that even though perfect things like Elio has their flaws.

But seriously, Elio is a beautiful, perfect human being. Honestly, I think God probably thought “Hey, how about we give this gay guy some happiness in the future by turning this angel into a normal human.” I just want to say a “thank you” to God for that.

As at least five minutes go by, Nick, Abby, and Leah come over to the table.

“Oh my god!” Abby says. “Hi, Elio!” she goes to hug him.

    “Hi, Abby.” he says.

“He obviously is annoyed with your hugging.” I say. “Let him go.”

“Aww, you’re just jealous that you don’t get as much as hugs as Elio does. You’ll get over it.” she says.

“Okay, that’s partially why. Why don’t you give me hugs anymore?” I ask.

“Because I’ve known you for a while now. You need to share the Abby love with Elio.” she says. She looks at Elio, who looks confused. “See, he looks this way because he agrees with me.”

“He only is looking at you this way because you’re freaking him out.” I say.

“He has a point, Abby.” Leah says. “You do tend to freak people out.”

“Shut up, Leah.” Abby says.

“Hey don’t get into a fight.” Nick says. “I hate when girls fight. It never ends well.” The girls roll their eyes and Nick makes a look that says But it’s true.
