I sit down on a park bench with my shave ice, a classic red, yellow, and blue. I get a text from Ada.

'We'll be coming back tonight. Don't think we'll find all ingredients in time. We'll meet at the Sunset Resort, room 7b.'

'Okay,' I respond. A resort? That's a fancy place to meet. I slurp melted shave ice. I remember when I'd get this kind of shave ice every afternoon with my family. I sigh.

I wish I could go back in time sometimes.

I try to get away from my thoughts for a second, looking around, when I spot someone approaching me. He seems to be a pretty young guy, like me, except way taller. He has short black hair and chocolate brown eyes, and is wearing a dark blue Hawaiian shirt and khakis.

A classic tourist, I'd say (although he's pretty good-looking).

"Hey," he greets.

"Hi," I say, trying not to let my sarcastic side get the best of me.

"My name's Andrew." I do a mini-wave, because I'm awkward like that.

"I'm Robin. It's nice to meet you."

I'm so good at keeping up a conversation.

"You visiting?" he asks timidly. Quick! Spin a lie, Robin!

"Uh, yeah I've always wanted to come here. It's so beautiful here," I blabber.

"Yeah, I just got here not too long ago," he says with a sigh, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Nice, I got here yesterday," I lie.

"Where are your parents? If you don't mind me asking," he chats. My mind immediately goes to Ada's text about the resort.

"They're back at the resort we're staying in," I answer as casually as possible. Andrew's eyes widen. I probably sound like a rich prep or something now.

"Are you talking about the Sunset Resort?" I curse myself under my breath. Of course he'd know what I'm talking about.

"Yeah, why?" I finally say.

"That's where we're staying, too!" he exclaims. I smile crookedly.

"Nice, I hope to see you around the place," I say, truthfully this time.

"Yeah, maybe we could hang out sometime." My heart skips a beat for two reasons: because he wants to hang out and because I have no idea what to say in response. I come up with a quick excuse.

"If my parents are nice enough to let me hang around a boy that is," I chirp before giving my best girlish giggle. I'm cringey, I know, but that's all I could think of when I thought about what Anjulee or the others would think.

"Well, we'll see," he shrugs, peering off into the not-so-distant ocean. "I gotta go now." My heart does a little dance, trying to find an excuse to see him again.

"Wait, I'll give you my number if you ever want to hang out," I stutter stupidly. He stops and smiles.

"Oh, alrighty then." He pulls out his phone, and we exchange numbers.

"Hope to see you around, Robin," he declares. We both wave, and as we part ways I realize something. If I'm going to see this guy again, do I even know if he is real? This is supposed to be the reality accessible from dreams. Even if he is real, he may not be an Elemental, and I don't know the restrictions on that. I drop my hand into my lap and slip my phone back into my pocket, only to feel it buzz. I sigh and retrieve the phone, unlocking the screen hurriedly. It's from Arik to the whole group.
