Inside the room was dim you could see a young Andrea sitting at an old wooden circle table in front of her was a pink birthday cake with two white candles which were zero and the number one. Her curly black hair was in two pigtails and she was wearing a purple dress.
"Happy birthday to you." her family sung to her.
She blew out her candles as her family cheered. After she was sitting on an old green couch next to her mother and father her mother was an average sized woman with ebony skin and was wearing an orange dress with short curly hair.
Her dad was a tall man with ebony skin also he was wearing a green shirt and brown pants. Andrea picked up a long box covered in red wrapping paper. There was a tag on it that said
From: Grandma
To: My lovely Granddaughter.
"Open it, baby, her grandmother said with a warm smile on her face sitting across from her. Andrea then quickly tore the red gift paper off as it fell onto the floor.
Once all the paper was off revealed a box with a doll the words Layla were written on the box next to the pretty ebony doll with long black curly hair. Her eyes quickly lit up as she looked at the doll then she smiled at her grandmother.
After the party as everyone was about to leave the house as the grandmother was about to walk out of the house she stopped and turned to Andreas parents.
"Make sure that doll is never taken out of the box," she told them with a serious expression.
Andreas parents just looked at her in surprise.
"Ok, momma I think it's time you go home and take your medicine." Andrea's dad said laughing.
She said nothing as she walked off from the trailer.

Andrea, her husband Mike and her daughter Alice have just recently moved into the city from their small country town the went from a small trailer to a spacious two bedroom house.
Boxes were still littered all over the house as they were still unpacking things. Andrea was in the kitchen unpacking pots and pans she was wearing a yellow sundress as she stood by the kitchen window looking at the sunny blue sky. She felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist it was her husband mike she smiled as she turned and kissed him.
"Are you nervous about being in the city he asked her.
Mike was a truck driver and was constantly doing deliveries in the city so instead of driving back and forth he and Andrea decided to just move to the city permanently.
She shook her head.
"No baby I'm fine I actually got a job interview tomorrow she told him with a smile on her face.
"That's great baby Mike said pulling her close.
Just as they were about to kiss their daughter Alice walked into the room they looked at her she was holding the doll.
"Mom can I play with this?" she asks.
She smiles back at her daughter.
"Sure baby she said to her daughter who walked off happily.
Then Andrea turned back to Mika and gave him a kiss.

"I thought we were going to get Ice cream Alice said as she was being led by Andrea into Trevor's apartment building.
"We still going to get ice Mommy just got to stop here and handle some business first," Andrea told her daughter.
She couldn't hold it in any longer she was going to give Trevor a piece of her mind.
Originally she didn't plan to have her daughter with her but since Alice's school let out early she had to pick her up since Mike wouldn't get off until later. She could hear her daughter's feet paddle against the floor following her she was carrying her doll in her hand.
Right when they were at Trevor's door and was about to knock from the corner of her eye Andrea seen Trevor all over a girl with red hair and was making there the way to his door. Andrea fought back the tears and grabbed her daughter's hand.
"Where we going?"Alice asked.
"To get ice cream she told Alice.
She was moving to slow for Andrea which caused her to lightly yank her which made her drop her doll.
"Mom my doll!" she yelled but by that time they were already in the elevator and the doors closed on Alice's saddened face.

Even though this is a flashback chapter tell me what you guys think.
