She was lead to a table where she sat down at in front of the judge who was an older man with salt and pepper hair.
Today was Andreas trial after she was arrested and held without bail.
Her heart was pounding as she was sitting and hoping for the best which was ten years with the possibility of parole according to her lawyer.
"Ms. Andrea, you are being charged for Fraud and theft what do you plead."
She looked down as she tried to keep the tears from flowing her eyes after losing her husband, mother, and Daughter since after everything that happened she's not allowed to have any contact with Alice.
Ms. Andrea what do you plead the judge said sternly tapping his gavel
She looked at her Lawyer.
"I plead guilty." she said sadness was in her voice.
"Since you stole twenty thousand dollars I sentence you to twenty years in a federal prison without the possibility of Parole."
the judge said slamming his gavel down.
"Twenty years Andrea shouted!"
The judge slammed the gavel down again.
"I'll add more if you make another outburst." the judge said.
Andrea was led out of the courtroom by two guards.
"Do I have to go to school? today Alice whined as she was walking into school with her social worker who was an average sized lady with black hair.
"Yes you do sweetie."
she smiled at Alice who responded with a frown as she walked into her classroom.
The other kids looked at her as she sat at her desk the teacher wasn't in the room.
She put reached into her purple backpack and grabbed a book and started reading with her head in hopes no one will tease her.
She felt something wet being poured on the top of her head.
She touched the top of her head to find out it was glue.
Alice heard the laughter of other students as she turned around and seen one of her classmates, Billy, holding a bottle of glue pointing and laughing.
She was about to cry until the teacher came in after that everyone calmed down and Alice kept her eyes on the board.
She was used to stuff like this happening to her.
It was lunchtime Alice was sitting at circle wooden table by herself eating her food when chocolate milk was spilled all over it again her eyes met with Billy's he had short brown hair and brown eyes.
"There you go loser I'll sure you'll take anything." he smirked.
Alice said nothing as he walked away and sat with his friends at another table.
She got up and went to throw her food away.
"Oh my god someone help him!"
A teacher shouted.
Alice turned around and seen a bunch of students and teacher surrounded around where Billy was sitting.
She moved closer to the crowd to see what was going on.
"Whats going on?" someone asked.
Billy was laying on the floor his face was red, he had a rash and he was unable to breathe after he took a bite of the brownie that came with his school lunch he had an allergic reaction.
"Why are there nuts in the brownie he has a nut allergy!?" A teacher yelled
The ambulance was called but it was too late Billy was gone.
Alice looked at the EMT cover his lifeless body and for some reason, she felt relief and was at peace.
For the last few days, Trevor has had a weird feeling of guilt on him he didn't know why but he felt bad for Alice only though he only met her a few times and he let her play in his office one night when Andrea had to pick her up early from school.
She was a sweet and also kind of quiet girl. He felt bad that she lost both of her parents her dad was killed because of him and her mom is basically spending the rest of her life in prison.
So he did the only thing he could do to clear his guilt.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Layla asked him asked they walked into the adoption center.
"Yes, I'm sure I have to help her." Trevor told Layla.
Layla smiled at him.
"Ok meet your new parents."
the social worker who Alice has been spending the last few days with walked with into the room with Trevor and Layla her hair was in a ponytail and she was wearing a pink dress holding her black suitcase by the handle.
Layla's eyes lit up.
She walked up to Alice and hugged her.
"I'm so glad to have you back." she said to her.
Alice had a warm feeling she felt comfort which was something she hasn't felt in awhile.
Trevor smiled at Alice and Layla he decided to fill out the adoption papers for Alice and now he has legally adopted her.
The social worker smiled at them.
"I think she is going to like you guys." the woman said to Trevor.
Trevor smiled back
"Yea I think I like this too." he said with a grin.
Then, Trevor, Layla, and Alice walked out of the building got into the SUV and pulled off.
