"I'm sorry for trying to keep my mistake from tearing this family apart!"

I felt my anxiety rise as I neared the principles office. I hadn't been in there for at least five months, the feeling walking through the doors felt foreign to me. The receptionist looked at me with a small smile before nodding her head. I softly knocked on the door of his office, then hearing a faint 'come in'. Opening the doors, he sat in his chair.

I walked in and softly closed the door behind me before taking a seat in the chair placed in front of his desk.

"Hello Jessica." He greets as he cleared his throat.

"Hi," I hesitantly replied.

"Haven't seen you in my office for a while, for a second I though you transferred." He joked. Him making joke made me feel somewhat relieved, almost as if he wasn't as pissed as I had expected. Which was odd.

"Yeah," I chuckled softly "I guess I had a change of heart, I wanted to spend my time in my classes rather than the office."

He shook his head softly before speaking. "I'm sure you already know why you're in here."

"Look, I can explain-" I tried to talk but was interrupted by him.

"Jessica, I'm sure you had you're reasons. But because I'm punishing miss Vargas, then there has to be some punishment established for you as well. I'll be giving you detention for the rest of the week after school." I nodded my head. Sounds reasonable. I guess I could've gotten it worse. "I also called your parents. You are suspended for the rest of the day."

My eyes grew wide. But I knew better than to argue so I just nodded my head. He told me to go gather my things in my locker and to wait in his office until my parents came to pick me up.

I grabbed my back pack from my locker and everything else I needed to complete my homework assignments and stuffed them into my bag. Unintentionally, I slammed my locker shut causing a loud noise. I leaned my head against the locker as I took a deep breath. Leaning my back against the lockers and slid down them until I was sitting on the floor. A couple seconds later, someone sat beside me. I turned my head to look at who it was and a smile crawled onto my lips.

"Hey stranger." I said with a smile.

"Hey Jessica." Adrian smiled back. "Everything okay?"

"Yeah. I'm just suspended for today, then have detention for the rest of the week after school." I signed as I leaned my head against the lockers.

"Could be worse. You could've gotten expelled." He shrugged.

"Yeah." I agreed.

"At least you didn't get your ass kicked like Shelby, she deserved it. Congrats by the way." He laughed beside me and I smiled at him. I let my head fall upon his shoulder for a couple of seconds before sitting up.

"I should get going. I'm supposed to be in the office waiting for my parents." I groaned. He quickly jumped to his feet, wiping his hands on his jeans before offering me one and helping me up. Taking his hand, he helped me up and I thanked him.

"I don't know if I'll have my phone, but but I'll text you after school if I do." I quickly hugged him before making my way back to the office.
