"Sometimes the lie is better than the truth."
•••Its only been a couple of weeks after the funeral and I feel myself getting better. I'm eating more, I'm talking more, and I'm not hidden away in my bedroom under the comfort of my blankets. Brandon has made sure not to leave my side in his attempt to make it up to me for not being here. Despite my constant reassurance, he just won't listen and keeps doing the most.
I kept quiet in the kitchen as I continued to make myself something to eat, which only consisted of a sandwich and chips. Brandon sat on a stool placed at the counter, keeping his eyes locked on me.
"Why do you keep starring at me?" I chuckled at him.
"Not starring, just admiring." He replied with a cheeky smile.
"It kinda goes along the same lines." I laughed as I stood cross from him.
His eyes flickered down to my chips then back at me. I rolled my eyes playfully as I pushed the chips in front of him where he happily took a chip and shoved it into his mouth.
"Hey do you wanna do something today?" Brandon asked.
"Like what?" I questioned with my eyebrows furrowed.
"Well seeing that you're feeling better, I was thinking that we catch up with Justin and Emma and maybe go to the carnival that is happening downtown?" He offered shyly. I smiled at him.
"Well what about Jacob and maya? And Adrian?" When I spoke their names his muscles tensed.
"Sure." He tried to play it off like he was okay with it, but with his hesitation to answer I knew he was uncomfortable with them coming.
"Babe," I walked over to him where I stood in front of his figure, "I know you aren't very fond of them, but they're my friends. Like you said, I've been getting better and I haven't seen them nor spoken to them much. I miss them."
"Okay," he nodded his head, "but if ether of them try anything I won't hesitate to intervene."
I simply nodded my head before walking back to my plate where I finished my food then placed my plate in the sink.
"When are we going?" I asked him.
"Maybe in a few hours." He shrugged his shoulders.
"Okay well I'm gonna go shower." I kissed his cheek before heading up to my bathroom.
I stripped of my clothing and turned the water on before getting in. Quickly washing my hair with my shampoo and conditioner, I washed my body with the soap as well. I cut the water off and wrapped my body in the towel that hung on a railing. I exited the bathroom and walked to my closet, deciding on a pair of ripped jeans and a lose T-shirt.
I slipped on my underwear and bra before pulling on my jeans and shirt. Walking back to my bathroom, I used a brush to comb through my hair. I then brushed my teeth.
I grabbed a pair of socks and slipped them on before heading back downstairs where Brandon was found laying on the couch.
"How do you just manage to get out of the shower, wear simply jeans and a shirt, and still look gorgeous as hell?." He told me and I laughed. I hadn't even noticed he was looking at me.
