"Forgiving and forgetting is the only way to go sometimes."
.....

The following morning, I woke up to the smell of pancakes being made. I turned to my alarm clock, 7:00am.

Pulling the covers off my body, I swing my legs over the edge of my bed and stretch. I place my hair into a messy bun before making my way of out my room and down the stairs.

I walk into the kitchen and seen my mom and dad making breakfast. Except they had music playing and they were dancing. Dad had spun mom around who then saw me and smiled. She laughed a little as she walked towards me.

"We didn't wake you, did we?" She questioned as dad turned down the music.

"No I need to get ready for school anyways," I trailed off as I look around the kitchen. "What's going on?"

Mom took a look around the kitchen as well, "oh your dad and I decided we should make breakfast and eat before you go to school."

I nodded my head in response. Is this how it's gonna be? Drop life changing news on your daughter then pretend everything is okay?

"Breakfast won't be ready for about five minutes." My dad chimes in. I nodded my head and told them I was going to get dressed then be back down.

I went up to my room and closed my door. Walking to the bathroom, I quickly brushed my teeth and brushed through my hair. I heat up the curling iron as I make my way to my closet.

I grab a pair of black jeans with holes in the knee along with a white tank top and a beige cardigan. Going back to the bathroom, I quickly did soft curls at the ends of my hair before applying mascara and chapstick to my lips. I grab a pair of black socks from my dresser and slip on my white converse.

I grab my phone from the night stand along with my charger and headphones, placing my phone in my pocket and charger in my backpack.

I quickly jog down the stairs, placing my bag on the couch. As I take at seat at the island, dad hands me a plate in which mom places two things of pancakes and two pieces of bacon. Dad pours me a glass of orange juice. I go to take a bite, but then realize that they are both staring at me.

"What?" I looked at then.

"We have something to tell you." Mom starts off. My heart seemed to race.

"You're mother and I are going out this weekend." Dad chimes in. That was totally unexpected.

"What?" I found myself asking again.

"You're mother -" dad tried to repeat but I shook my head.

"No I heard you, it just took me by surprise." I said. They both chuckled.

"Is that okay?" Mom questioned me while butting her lip.

"Are you insane? Of course it is!" I jumped off the stool to give her a hug. She laughed as she hugged back.

I went back to the stool and finished eating. After ten minutes I finally finished eating and placed the plate in the sink. I kissed my mom and dad on the cheek before grabbing my bag and walking out the door. Emmet sits in his truck at the curb on his phone. I got into the passenger seat, placing my bag at my feet. My hands slammed on the dashboard causes emmets attention to turn to me.
