he moved out of the apartment three months after hailey came back. throwing out most of his things and keeping all of ashton's.

while cleaning up, he found ashton's old Zepplin shirt. and that's when he really broke down. a tear slipped down his cheek and then a few more and his knees gave out as he dropped to the floor in a shaking mess, holding the material tightly to his chest.

the only sound he heard were his desperate gasps for air. he blocked out the sound of hailey knocking on the door, calling his name in panic. he ignored everything except for the thought of ashton being gone forever.

he wished he could stay asleep long enough for ashton to tell him that he would be okay. long enough to feel the warmth and safety that washed over him when ashton held him.

he wished that the hurt would wash away the way his tears did when he stood under the shower.
