"Pizza night!" Someone in the office yelled when work ended.
I smiled brightly as I saw Ron walk to me: "Wanna come?"
"Sure." I said grabbing my bag from the floor. "Are you coming?" I asked when I noticed that Clark didn't stop working to join us.
"No... I don't really get asked to these things. I'm sure they don't want me to come." Clark said smiling sadly.
"Oh... Hey Ron. I have to take a rain check. I'll join next time." I yelled to Ron who had already walked to the elevator.
"Okay!" He yelled back and left with the others so it was just Clark and me in the office.
"You didn't have to do that. If you are quick you can still catch them." Clark said, standing up to usher me out.
"No Clark I wanna stay here with you." I said and smiled up at Clark who was now standing very close to me.
Clark stared at me silently before he opened his mouth to ask: "Why?"
"Because I like you." I said like it was oblivious. Clark stared at me surprised and looked happy at the same time. "We could be friends." I didn't notice that Clark's face slightly fell when I said that. "All the other employees treat you like air. I don't like people like that. I was still going to give them a chance and maybe try to make them notice you." I said blushing because I knew that I shouldn't meddle.
"They are good people even if they don't seem to see me." Clark said.
"See! That's it!" I said excitedly stepping closer: "That's why I like you so much. Even though I don't yet know you well, I think that you are genuinely kind and calm. I feel like I can be myself around you and relax."
"You can be yourself around me." Clark smiled. "Because I like you too." He pulled me in for a warm hug. His arms (that were surprisingly strong) wrapped around me and held me tight.
After a minute I pulled away and said: "I am going to order us our own pizza while we do the rest of our work." I took my phone and searched a pizzeria that was nearby. "What do you like in a pizza?"
"Well certainly not pineapple." Clark said.
"What?" I asked. "Pineapple belongs to pizza!"
"No. Just no." Clark said shaking his head. "How about chicken?
"Sure. And tomatoes?"
"Yeah and mushrooms." Clark smiled licking his lips.
"Oh yeah! I love mushrooms." I moaned and ordered the pizza. "It'll take almost 20 minutes." I said and walked next to Clark looking at what he was writing over his shoulder.
"That's really good." I said happily. Clark wasn't writing anything; he was drawing. Clark flinched at my voice.
"You sneaked up on me." Clark said clearing his throat, adjusting his glasses and covering the drawing with a magazine.
"I already saw it." I giggled and pulled the magazine away uncaring of Clark's objections. "Wait is that me?" I laughed and took the paper running away. I heard Clark start chasing me and we laughed running around the office.
Then I ran into a wall. "Ugh!" I moaned. "Wait you were over there." I said looking from Clark (who I had just ran into) to where he had just been less than 10 seconds ago.
"Give it back." Clark said.
"No." I said hiding the paper behind my back.
"I'll tickle you." Clark threatened.
"You wouldn't." I said squinting my eyes.
"Oh trust me, yes I would." Clark said with a gleam in his eyes.
'Shit.' I thought and started running again, but Clark quickly catched up with me wrapping his arms around me starting to tickle my sides. "Noo! This is torture!" I yelled between laughs and fell to the ground but Clark just got on his knees next to me continuing.
"Umm, I have a pizza for Fay Queen." Came an awkward voice from the elevator.
Both our heads flew up to look at the pizza boy. He had greasy red hair, big teeth and too big clothes on.
"That's me." I said blushing as I stood up and accepted the pizza.
"Look I get that people have weird sex habits but that's new even for me." The boy said sounding stupid.
"We weren't... I mean we were just..." I stuttered not knowing what to say: two adults playing tag? I was blushing furiously and feeling like I wanted to sink to the ground.
"She stole something from me. I was trying to get it back." Clark said.
"Sure, sure." The boy said, leaving after getting the money.
"That was awkward." I mumbled.
"Yeah." Clark said sitting back to his desk making room for the pizza. I took a chair from someone else's desk for myself and sat next to him.
"It's really good bye the way. I am not that pretty though." I said as I layed the drawing on the table.
Clark smiled and said: "You are way more beautiful than that drawing."
"Awww. Thanks!" I smiled and took a piece of pizza.
We ate and laughed well into the night. "Oh, no it's that late?" I let out a little shriek when I saw the time. "I'm gonna miss the buss." I hurried to grab my bag. "See you tomorrow." I said to Clark, and in my hurry I didn't think what I was doing ending up pressing a quick kiss on his cheek.
"O-Okay." I heard Clark say before I rushed to the elevator.

Clark's pov (Point of view)

'Did she just...?' I thought as I pressed my fingers to my cheek where her lips had been pressed. I felt warm inside. She was the kindest person I have ever met. I was just afraid that she was too gullible to survive in this world on her own.
I packed my things and left the office. I had to make sure she was okay. I stayed on roofs, dressed as Superman watching where she went. She ended up at an apartment building couple miles (about one and a half kilometers) away.
I watched her enter the building and wished tat I could be there with her...
