"You're okay, Clark, I'm right here." I said.
When he finally took his face out of my hair and just placed his head to my chest, heavily for support, I started running my hand through his face, hugging him to my body. He seemed so calm yet his muscles were all tense.
For an hour we stayed like this, however, my body was becoming numb and I couldn't really mode under him, uncomfortable on the floor. "Clark. Let me up."
At that, his hands flew around me fast like a cheetah, squeezing me to his body tightly.
"Clark let go." I commanded, trying to wiggle out causing him to tighten his grip.
"You'll disappear again. I won't ever let that happen again." He said, his voice hoarse.
"I can't feel my legs. You need to get up, we'll move to the bed." I said. "Clark please, I'm uncomfortable." I mumbled and placed a kiss on his forehead.
He craned his neck and looked at me. Very slowly he let me up, rising with me, holding onto my hand tightly. Before I could take a single step he picked me up and carried me to his bedroom. I wasn't surprised. I'd known that he wouldn't let me go. That he wasn't ready, not completely calm yet. An anger and engulfing amount of pain still inside him. I could feel it, rippling under his skin like a disease.
His bedroom was horrible: everything smashed into pieces, all except a photo of me and Clark together that was neatly placed on his bedside table. I understood why his bed wasn't in pieces: the frame was made out of metal and the mattress was the thickest one I had ever seen.
Clark lifted the blanket and placed me on the bed getting in next to me, but something was off. The mattress seemed lumpy. 'What the hell?' I thought and while Clark was getting in next to me I pulled something out from under me: my hoodie. I was about to throw it off the bed, but Clark grabbed my wrist in the middle of my movement. "No." He growled.
"It's okay." I said and let go of the hoodie, letting it fall to the floor.
Clark and I just stared at each other for a while until he reached out and gently touched my hair. After a moment against his cheek. It seemed perfect. Just being there with his waiting for him still irregular breath to calm down. When his fingers ran along my neck and made me feel ticklish, I started.
Smiling slightly I relaxed slowly, feeling much more comfortable than on the floor. Clark looked at me like he would never see my face again, taking in each detail and each little imperfection. I felt like his whole world.
I hugged his chest, placing my head there with a small smile, feeling him start to again.
When I looked up at him down at me brightly for the first time, he crossed his arms under his head and relaxed. His whole being went calm and soothing like the Clark I know.
Today he had seemed like a whole other person and was now getting himself back.
He hugged me to his body . I was growing more tired by the second.
I turned around on the bed and saw the clock hanging upside down on the wall. 0:05 Past midnight.
"You aren't going to leave me again." I wasn't sure if this was a question or just a fact he was stating. I didn't feel like he was being possessive. I didn't want to leave him ever again so I was comfortable with his words.
