Ronnie's POV:
After our little chorus of hello's we all had to figure out our next move. We walked outside and stopped in our tracks when we saw the wreckage in front of us. The truck Austin, the guys, and I had been wrapped around a hydro pole mearly a few feet away from the entrance.
"So.....do you guys have a car?" I questioned, turning to Alice and the Killjoys. They all looked at me and nodded, but I could tell by the looks on their faces that I wouldn't work out.
"Yea! Yea we do! But it was hardly big enough for the Killjoys and I! Than Ginny came around and we had to squish...what are we going to do?" Alice shot out. We all stood for a minute in silence and thought.
I pulled my Jennings-22 out of the back of my pants and checked the ammo. It was half full now and I sighed heavily. I grabbed my two Springfield SD-S guns out of either of my boots and did a check. They were full. I checked the holsters that were settled on the side of my hips. I pulled out my GBB pistols with purple undertoning and checked it; full.
"Alright. Who has a good amount of weapons to kill the bastards from a distance?" I called out. Alice, Austin, and Party and all of the Killjoys stepped forward. I nodded my head and counted who was left.
"Alice, how many seats are in the car?"
"Six, it's a full bench car."
"Okay. Tino, Ginny, Phil, Kobra, and Ghoul go in the car. The rest of us will follow behind you. Don't drive too fast though. We need to be able to hop in if we are getting ambushed." They nodded their head and ran to get the car.
"Why do we have to walk?" Alan whined. I turned around and stepped up to him. He visibly shunk at the weight of my glare, but I grabbed the collar of his shirt before he could step back.
"I swear to all the Gods above, Alan, if I have to go another two hours listening to you complain again I am going to shoot you in the dick and leave you writhing in pain. Please tell me you understand?" His eyes widened and he nodded his head vigorously. I smiled a little and kissed his nose before releasing his shirt and moving forward.
The five pulled out in the car and Kobra honked the horn. Tino popped his head out of the front window and Ginny out of the back.
"Okay, so we'll move ahead of you and make sure everything's alright. Austin, do you need anything?" he shook his head and held up his guns and showed off his knife. Tino nodded and pulled his head back into the car. They drove off ahead of us, sending up dust along the way. They slowed down when they got about 100 feet ahead of us.
"So, what happened with the Dracs?" I questioned Alice as we began to walk. She looked up from the ground and glared at the space ahead of us. "We were just driving when we were rear ended. Party kept driving, but the engine ended up over heating. We armed ourselves, but there were a lot of Dracs. They were pointing their guns at us so I just kind of snapped. I took a good beating, but Party pulled him off me and beat the shit out of him. He stopped mid-punch when the dude said something about someone being back. He said that he wanted me, wanted to get to know me. Party knocked him out cold and we left and came here. I told them my story and what not so yea." I nodded my head and wrapped my arm around her shoulders, kissing the side of her head. I didn't push her any farther cause I knew she didn't want to talk about it anymore.
It was silent for a minute before Austin spoke up. "What's your story, Ronnie? Or are you just gonna be mysterious?" I looked at Austin and back to Alice. She nodded her head and I sighed a little. Here goes nothing.
"I moved from Tennessee to New Jersey when I was 2. It was just me, my brother and my mum. Dad left us when I was born. When we got there I quickly got used to the rough neighborhood and met Alice. We became the best of friends and were joined at the hip. Her parents became like my other family. When I was 13 my house caught on fire while we were sleeping. The fire fighters could only get me out, my mum and brother were dead by the time they got to them. I was so broken and depressed. I didn't have anywhere to go after that so I lived on the streets for about six months before Alice took me in and showed me the illegal road. I followed her and we got into some shit with really bad people; drug lords, pimps, all of it. I just wasn't dumb enough to get caught.
When we were 15, Alice got caught and sent to Juvie for six months. I bided my time by doing a few other jobs along the side for the bosses, but when she got out I was waiting for her. Than we ran. She got taken by Korse, so for the months she was gone I did a few more jobs. When I got good with guns and breaking into places people started hiring me to kill their enemies. I became a hit woman. The cops were after me, but every time they thought they had me, I would just slip through their fingers.
I was a lone wolf. Making hits and taking the cash. I was in the middle of a hunt when Alice found me and told me everything. I dropped the job and we ran. The boss wasn't too happy about that though. We've both been on the run since. Her from the Dracs, me from the Drones. It's been hard, and they've almost caught us a few times, but we've always managed to slip away. Running just brought us closer."
Alice smiled up at me and wrapped her arms around my waist. I tossed mine back around her shoulder. As we continued walking.
I looked over at Austin and saw the look of complete shock and sympathy on his face. I smiled up at him a little and nudged his shoulder. He grabbed hold of my wrist and pulled me into a tight hug. I was shocked at first before I wrapped mine around his strong waist, leaning my head against his chest.
I heard Alice, Party, Alan, and Jet stop ahead of us but all I could focus on were Austin's words being whispered into my ears.
"I am so sorry you had to go through that and I promise that I will do everything in my power to make sure you do not lose Alice. I realize she is the only family you had, but now you have all of us. We will take care of you. I promise, and I never break my promises." Did I finally soften the hard heart of Austin? I could fear tears welling up in my eyes and I wasn't going to let them spill. I just met these people and I am not going to let them see me cry. I sniffled a little bit and pulled away, looking up into his eyes.
"Thank you, Austin. So much. It means a lot to me." he smiled down at me and kissed my forehead before releasing me. I looked over at everyone and saw the looks on their faces. I had to break the serious vibe!
"Hey guys! I got Austin to soften up!"
