PROLOGUE

After the death of her father, Lauren had started to feel like her spirit was no more and she was simply skins and bones. Lauren was afraid she would never feel again. And slowly and slowly everything was getting worse everyday, her will to live was vanishing along with her sanity. However it had been a very long time since she had felt whole and complete with more to think of other than her misery.

Lauren had weirdly enough, always had a certain liking towards Jughead, it had been pretty obvious to her friends and family members but she had never really acted on it. But now, a warmth had spread her heart, and it had merely been a morning but th happiness that radiated from her glow.

And she had always found herself far away from the feeling she got when she was with Jughead, she was stripped of it, trying to keep everyone around her happy and protecting herself from pain when it might have not been happened because as revealed Jughead had ignored his feelings too.

Despite the new happiness she felt, she worried about Betty Cooper's reaction after she would find out about the beginning of Jughead and Laurens relationship especially after Veronica and Archie's relevation. Lauren didn't want anxiety to swallow the feeling she was feeling but she couldn't help it.

Once the morning had arrived, she kissed Jughead goodbye and made her way to Pop's for her shift. Her eyes were struggling to stay open but nevertheless she tightened her coat and walked out of her car, seeing the chock' lit shoppe unusually empty, not a soul present except for what seemed to be the owner.

With furrowed brows, Lauren made her way to the shop, she locked her car and walked not missing the eerie vibe left around the building. When entering the shop the air truned cold and the hairs on her back stood up as Pops face grew solemn his tired face looked at Lauren as the bell above her dinged.

"Pops?" Lauren questioned as her eyes widened at the atmosphere and pool of blood on the floor. Her shaky hands wiped her forehead and her breathe hitched in her throat as flashes of her father's blood interrupt her reality.

"Lauren, you shouldn't be here right now." Pops let out with a disappointed sigh. He grabbed a mop, turning back to face the frozen girl. Her eyes were glued on the blood but her eyes finally fell in the older man. She took a step closer.

"What the hell happened here?"

"Fred Andrews was shot, Archie just left for the hospital." Pops let out quietly.

Lauren's eyes widen, get heart beats faster as her mouth is left open her mind found completely blank at the information she was just given, almost as quick as the blank state came it was gone and frantically Lauren let out muffled breathes as she struggled to understand.

"I-I need to go, pops. I'm so sorry." Lauren rushed out already making her way towards the door.

"Make sure they're okay, Lauren."

Lauren could barely keep her shakes in as she struggled to get in the car and just drive to the hospital not even stopping to call everyone else.

The drive felt agonizingly slow but she got there in under five minutes definitely getting tickets. As she entered the hospital she first saw the chaos that Archie's arrival had caused. Her eyes looked around the emergency room ferociously, looking for a certain red-head. When she spotted the boy on the chair, bouncing his leg with blood all over him, she almost barfed until she called his name.

Archie's head snapped at the sound of her voice his face filled with panic and it falling into relief as he stood up with so much speed, Lauren almost though it was a trick of the eye.

"Archie."

Suddenly, Lauren was enveloped in hug, her eyes widened not expecting the affection from the boy until she heard him let out a cry making her forget any bad blood they had, immediately wrapping her arms around him, she soothed him, they bonded over the remembrance of their fathers and with their arms wrapped around each other, they were still best friends.

Heyyyyy

Welcome back everyone!!! I am so sorry for not updating in so long, I've been on a pause with all my books because I've been really demotivated with everything going on in my life but yesterday shit happened to me involving a guy I liked and well, lets just say it went bad and it motivated me to write more.

Things happen and the sooner you accept it the more you'll feel better, any way, after everything that happened yesterday I needed to vent and decided to let it out through my writing and it made me feel so much better, so while I go through this, expect some updates cuz I'm back and motivated and ready to write better.

Thank you so much for respecting the fact that I've been gone so long but I'm back and my wrist is perfect my hearts kinda weird but i'm figuring it all out.  But I'm good. :)
