CHAPTER THREE AKA 'THE IN BETWEEN'

Panic.

Panic is the only thing seen the minute Lauren Davis entered the hospital with a non-beating heart in her chest. Nobody was telling the crying teens in the waiting room what was happening in the operation theater and they refused to give them any sort of hope that she would make it. And while Lauren was taken away on a table, laying still, her hand leaving Jughead's bloody one.

The Nurses that were running around, didn't leave before sending a sad smile towards the teens who couldn't grasp the situation.

Jughead was silent, Betty was crying whilst Veronica sobbed in her knuckles, Archie nowhere to be seen, at the moment nobody could function or let others know about the situation Lauren Davis was in.

With the parents sitting with just as much as stress their kids were in. They wondered what would happen if something happens.

"She," Jughead whispered, shaking his head and tightly grasping at his beanie, with his eyes shut closed. "She told me to tell her sister and Mom in the ambulance before she..."

Betty gulped, her usual tight ponytail gone and replaced by flat and messy hair out of the pony as she tugged at it with a solemn expression. Veronica laid her head on Betty's shoulder, exhausted from the stress that Lauren had brought, she cursed herself for letting Lauren go home in the first place.

Before anyone could speak, two people rushed into the Waiting area, stopping right in front of the teens.

The Sheriff and his son stood in front of the group, them looking up to acknowledge him but not in the mood of conversing. "I-I don't know what to say."

"Guys, why didn't you tell me?" Kevin rushed out, taking a seat next to Betty who let out a cry and hugged the boy.

The Sheriff shakes his head, with his hat in his hand, his eyes fall over to Jughead's angry expression, his red face showing clear emotions, but Jughead wasn't ready to let go of the girl and he couldn't just sit around.

"Who found her?" The Sheriff asked, looking around the group, none of them wanting to answer.

"Um, Jughead." Betty answered quietly, her eyes drifting over to

"Can we please talk, Jughead?" The Sheriff questioned softly, his eyebrows dipping in concern.

Jughead nodded finally standing up and walking away with an idea in his own mind.

****

Everything Lauren saw was dark at first and slowly it turned to memories flashing past her eyes, stuck in an abyss that seemed to go on forever, confusing Lauren deeply. Her eyebrows furrowed as she looked down at her sudden change of clothes, now adorning a silky, white gown, her hair in natural waves and placed on her shoulders, her skin glowing as the scene around her changed.
