CHAPTER ELEVEN, MORE MISSED MURDERS

Days later and it seemed that the town with pep was no longer filled with the cheer from retro night, the shocking discovery of Moose and Midge's accident at Lover's Lane was the gossip of the town, one that had lasted all night through locked doors. Both Maya and Lauren had stayed awake that night, not knowing what to think about but simply seated in each other's presence.

When Lauren and Jughead had arrived to the Common Room, Betty, Kevin and Veronica were already seated there, waiting for more people to arrive before Kevin could have started his story on what exactly happened. "Hey, guy's we heard what happened, how you doing Kevin?"

Lauren frowned at the boy sympathetically, Kevin shrugged, waving it off. "I'm still pretty shaken from Jason to be honest, Laur."

Lauren nodded, grabbing Veronica's hand and squeezing it ass a greeting, quickly hugging Betty as Jughead sat on top of seat, guiding Lauren to sit on the actual chair.

"Kevin was just going to tell us about the whole thing." Veronica informed as Kevin nodded.

"It was full-on Carrie, Midge covered in Moose's blood, screaming like a banshee. It was insane." Kevin winced at his own story, shaking his head as he stood opposite of Betty and Veronica.

Archie approached them, his forehead creased due to worry. "What were you doing there anyway, Kev, you could've gotten hurt."

"I was just night-jogging," Kevin defended falsely, his voice going higher, something only Betty and Lauren noticed, the two girls briefly glanced at each other, both acknowledging it but deciding to question him about it later. "... suddenly I hear gunshots."

"Guy's can we agree that there is a killer on the loose?" Archie pleaded, glancing at everyone.

"With terrible aim." Lauren scoffed, glancing at her sling.

Everyone shot her a look of anger, glaring daggers at her, the girl nervously raised her good hand, giving them a sheepish smile before awkwardly looking away. Archie then continued, still glaring at Lauren. "He murdered Ms.Grundy."

"We don't know if these crimes are connected, other than your dads and Lauren's case we don't know if the others were because of the hooded man." Betty told him softly, glancing at Veronica.

"Guys, can we focus on what really matters?" Veronica proposed, interrupting her boyfriend. "Lauren, our best friend, is alive, Archie's dad is alive and so is Moose. The new season of Matchlerette starts tonight, you're all invited to watch-"

"There's a shooter terrorizing the town. You really want us to watch a gross dating show?" Jughead scoffed, confused at the sudden shift in conversation.

Lauren felt a little uncomfortable at the idea of meeting Veronica's dad who had barely been here and impacted their lives, it was strange but not something that was worth investigating or worrying over. She hated always being reminded of what had happened to her almost a week and few days ago, it was exhausting and not something she was fond of.
