CHAPTER TEN, RETRO NIGHT

Lauren was seated behind the counter at Pop's, she was there to support Betty, her friends but more specifically Pop's who had been there for her when she was out of place and had no money. A chair was specifically put behind the cashier for Lauren, since she refused to sit on the side and do nothing, she was even insisting that she could wear the roller skates but that's when Jughead stepped in and said she was crazy.

Her hair was down and she leaned her head on her palm as she watched the empty diner. Nobody had shown up, everyone still too scared to approach. Lauren let out a sigh, playing with the bracelet on her wrist.

"Nobody's coming." Lauren huffed out, looking around. Jughead sighed, shaking his head, he as well was wearing the Pop's uniform, Veronica and Betty were seated on the opposite side of the brunette.

Betty stood up, reaching over to her phone. "I have an idea."

Not even twenty minutes later, the diner was filled with people, families, friends, even people from the Southside, Lauren was starting to get busy with orders, her smile was real as she greeted smiling people.

Jughead was admiring Lauren from afar, her bright and radiating smile was one of the things he had always loved. When it vanished from her face a while ago, he had never thought it was possible for her to leave that behind especially after everything that happened. A part of him was happy Lauren finally had the comfort of her friends and family when she was going through these things, she deserved it.

Unfortunate things happened to Lauren over the past few years, memories he can't even imagine happening to himself, but she was finally starting to find serenity in her life. Lauren Davis's smile was truly a blessing to the world and it was upsetting to know that it was the world that took it away from her not too long ago. Jughead was excited to have a proper relationship with her, where he can explore in the eyes of her boyfriend rather than his best friend.

Betty approached Jughead, smiling as he watched her, the blonde's eyes light up. "Hey."

Jughead snapped out of his train of thoughts, giving the blonde a small smile. "Whats up?"

Betty shrugged, looking over at Lauren. "I'm just really happy that she's finally happy."

"Me too," Jughead nodded. "She deserves it the most."

"Yeah." Betty agreed, before looking at him. "I want to say sorry, I just, I don't want to seem like I'm unhappy or awkward around you both because of how our relationship ended and how yours started. I'm really happy seeing you two together, you both are perfect for each other and I'm totally over everything that happened between us."

"Thanks, Betty, I really appreciate that, what happened between us for a few weeks shouldn't affect our friendship or your and Lauren's okay?" Jughead added with a smile.
