"Scarlett? You ready yet? You've been in there for an eternity!" I stared at myself in the mirror and wondered if I should change for the thousandth time in five minutes. It was just a party my boyfriend was throwing for my 18th birthday, it's not like I was having dinner with the queen or anything, but I just feel like nothing is good enough.

"Almost! I'm just going to change my shoes!" I went to my closet to change my sliver pumps to the black ones and once again stepped in front of the mirror to stare at myself. Maybe I should have gone for a simpler dress like the light pink, off the shoulder, knee length dress over this black, thin strap, backless, mini dress. "Hmm... maybe I should change again." I whispered.

"Sky I swear I will go up there and drag you down here myself if you don't hurry up!" Crystal really wanted to go to this party because of a boy that she liked. He was a new guy and I've never seen him before but the way she describes him makes him sound like he was carved by angles.

"I'm just not sure if Tyler would like what I'm wearing." The last time Tyler caught me in something like this he absolutely lost his mind. In forty-two-degree weather he took off his jacket and covered me up like as if I was selling myself on the street, I had my own jacket by the way, sure it might have been a mini one because it was really cute with my outfit at the time, but it was still very unnecessary.  Part of me thinks that maybe he reacted that way because I was only 16 at the time, and I hope today he tells me how beautiful I look over something else.

"Tyler needs to get that stick out of his ass and shut the fuck up. I still don't know what you see in that guy, he needs to respect you and it feels like he lacks that part of the relationship... A LOT." She has a point, but it doesn't make me feel better. I love Tyler and I don't think I ever want to leave his side. I grabbed my bag and began to walk down the stairs, "Finally we can go. Also, you look hot, I can see why you took forever." she said rolling her eyes sarcastically. I giggled and shook my head.

"Not so bad yourself Crystal, where's Bella?" I asked looking around. Not another person in sight, not even my parents, even though they said they'd be home for my birthday, but I guess not. They do this every year which is why I'm going to a party my boyfriend threw for me instead of staying here.

"She's already at the party duh, she's the most impatient person I've ever met." She said rolling her eyes again.

"Right let's go."

...

I parked the car and took a deep breath, "Okay we're here." I said looking over to Crystal who looked like she was going to pass out. She wasn't the best with big crowds of people, but she wasn't introverted either. "You, okay?" I asked.

She nodded "Yeah I'm sorry I pushed you to go faster I just didn't realize there were going to be this many people. I thought Tyler said that it was going to be small, you know like... Your parents, Bella and I, his parents...you know?" She put one of her hands to her cheek and shook her head. "Do you even know this many people?" she asked, I looked at all the cars and the house full of people, they may be some of Tyler's other friends and relatives. The truth is I don't know all these people.

"It can't be that bad, look it's my birthday party, if someone isn't to your liking I'll tell Tyler to get rid of them." I really didn't know what to say to make her feel better, I mean it's not like someone in there is going to actually bother her in that way, right?

"Okay yeah honestly screw it let's go." She stepped out of the car while I followed and as we approached the door there was a person waiting there with a list.

"Name." They said sounding like they were really bored.

"Seriously?" I asked but they just stared at me and waited for me to actually give them my name like it wasn't my party. "Scarlett Grey." I said lifting an eyebrow, "And Crystal Kelly." He lifted his eyebrows and cleared his throat. "Sorry, go right in."
