Chapter 27

"So where's Jason?" She asked looking at me with a hopeful look. My mouth stayed shut I couldn't find the words to say anything. Tears began to form in my eyes. "Cole?" She asked once again looking anxious. "Where's my baby?" She asked.
"Scarlett-" I stopped and took a big, deep breath. "I- I failed you." I stuttered. Scarlett gulped and tried to figure out what I was trying to say or mean.
"Cole? What are you saying?" She whispered with glossy eyes.
"Jason was-" I broke into tears and tried to pull myself together.
"Scarlett, your son Jason he's home and being taken care of by my sister." Grayson said. I looked up at him to know what's going on.
"So he's okay?" She asked.
"Yup. Perfectly safe." Grayson said.
"Okay that's good but why is Cole crying?" She asked putting her hand over mine. She looked at me with a worried look.
"It's nothing. I'm only crying because I watched him grow a little more and I've been getting attached to the little guy. I just began to think about him finally growing up and leaving to find his own life." I said clearing my throat.
"Oh that's great. I can't wait to see him." She said smiling. My heart ached at the thought of her finding out he truth about her son. I guess it was a good thing Grayson told her a lie. She needs to get better and needs to come home healthy. I don't want to put her in any sort of risk.

Days pass...
Scarlett's POV...

"Here I brought you some clothes. Get dressed and we will head out of here." Cole said kissing my forehead then handing me the clothes.
I got dressed and felt so exited to be home with Jason and Cole. I will finally be happy with the both of them in piece. No more pain, just happiness.
"Ready?" Cole asked.
"Ready." I said with a big smile.

We got home and a smile formed on my face. I turned around and put my arms around Cole.
He smiled as we both watched each other's eyes. "I'm so happy to be home." I said.
"Me too." Cole said resting his forehead on mine without breaking eye contact with me.
"How about I make you something to eat while you rest for a little while?" He asked.
"Yes please I'm need to eat something that's not hospital food." I said giggling. "I'm going to go find Jason." I said. Cole grabbed my arm to stop me.
"He's not here." He said clearing my throat.
"Then where is he?" I asked giving him a worried laugh.
"He's with Grayson. Grayson volunteered to take care of him today. He'll drop him off at midnight." He said.
"Why midnight?" I asked.
"I don't know. He wanted to make sure that we have some time completely alone." He said.
"Oh okay." I said slowly.

We had dinner and we talked for a while I looked at the clock to see it was midnight.
"So when is Grayson going to come back with Jason? Is he on his way? I miss my baby so much." I said. Cole just stared at me with a blank expression on his face. It looked like he was trying to tell me something that I won't like but couldn't. "Cole is everything okay?" I asked.
"Sky it's about Jason." Cole said.
"What about him? Is something wrong?" I asked.
"Something is very wrong. Dominik has done something unforgivable and terrifying to him." He said hesitating. It was driving me crazy. What the hell was going on?
"To who? What did he do?" I asked.
"As you were in your coma he took Jason and he-" I stared at him with wide eyes about to explode.
"What?! What did he do?!" I yelled getting up from my chair.
"He buried Jason alive." He said. His eyes got glossy, he was holding it all back but I couldn't control myself. I felt everything in me brake. My mind, soul, world, everything has broke.
I was on the floor crying, I've never cried so hard in my life. He wasn't even a year old. How could this happen?! Dominik Levy is a sick bastard that deserves to die and rot in hell for what he has done to my son.
Cole had his arms wrapped around me as I cried. He cried a long with me. We didn't care if we were in the kitchen on the floor this was horrible.
"I'm sorry Sky I let you down princess." Cole whispered. I couldn't find the words to say anything. All I felt was pain and all I wanted to do was cry until I couldn't any longer.

Cole's POV...

I held Scarlett so tight I almost felt like she couldn't breath. She was crying really hard but soon fell asleep with her head buried in my chest. I picked her up and put her down softly onto the bed. I looked at her face; it was full of dried tears and pain. I know she's asleep but I can tell she's not calm.
As I started to walk away I heard Scarlett's pained voice behind me. "Cole?" She asked.
I hesitated to turn around. I did fail her and her kid. I couldn't do something as simple as giving them protection I feel so ashamed. I turned around hesitantly, "Yes?" I asked.
"Don't leave me please. Please I don't want to be alone." She said beginning to cry again. My eyes got glossy and my heart began to ache. I slowly walked over to the other side of the bed and scooted closer to her. I wrapped my arms around her and took a deep breath. I kissed her forehead and rested my chin on top of her head as she stuffed her face in my chest again.
"Cole." She said.
"What is is sweetheart?" I asked.
"What did you mean when you said you failed me and our son?" She asked. I looked down at her to make sure she was serious about what she just said.
"Our son?" I asked slowly.
"He was way more yours then Dominik's." She said.
"I didn't protect your or him." I said.
"You did as much as you could and I could never blame you for anything." She said holding me tighter. In my thoughts I still thought she deserved better than me. I still felt guilt. If I would have just stayed with her that night none of this bull shit would have happened in the first place.
"I could have just stayed with you but instead and we wouldn't have this problem." I said.  She has said nothing because she knew I was right.
"I love you." She whispered.
"What?" I asked.
"I love you. I will never blame you for trying to make my life better than it was. Please don't even think about leaving me. Please don't blame yourself to the point where you want to leave me." She said.
"I was thinking about it." I said clearing my throat.
"Cole don't. I can't lose anyone else."  She whispered.
"I will stay with you until death comes over me. I promise."
