THE NEXT DAY
Allison woke me up bright and early and forced me to explain the whole falling incident on the cross country track. "How many times do I have to tell you? I was running, my hair fell in my face I didn't see the branch as it hit me in the face I fell then hit my head on a rock which also cut my face." I walked towards the door after getting ready to go to the store.
"but-"
"Allison." I stopped her. "let it go, this is nothing I've been through much worst." she finally stopped and I quickly grabbed the keys out of her hands before running away. "I'M DRIVING!" I called out from the elevator doors when they opened my smiled dropped.
Allison and I got in the elevator and stood there awkwardly before the doors shut and we were moving down. "Are you okay?" I felt his breath on my neck as he spoke. I stepped away from him and looked at Allison.
"Hey, are you okay?" She asked me, not knowing what happened between Aiden and me.
"Yeah I'm fine," I said as the elevator doors opened. "Let's go."
After a quick trip to the store, Allison and I were sitting in her room when Scott walked into the room with an arrow from the other night, my smile dropped. I stayed quiet as he talked to Allison about my arrow. "I found this at the school where Isaac got Cora and Boyd to turn around."
"Maybe it's from the archery team," I said with a shrug.
"We don't have an archery team," Allison informed me.
"Even if we did I don't think that they'd be using a military grade, armor-piercing titanium arrowheads" Scott explained. "I looked it up. I thought you and your dad had some kind of agreement where you would stay of out it""Is that what you came here to tell me, to stay out of it?" Allison asked, Scott, stayed quiet. "I can take care of myself,"
"I know you can, but these guys are big, strong and they have claws,"
" you're pretty strong and I can take on you." I smiled at her answer, she is confident even if her odds at winning a slim to none, I, on the other hand, had I lifetime worth of training with the hardest huntress on earth.
"Me?" Scott asked surprised.
Her eyes widened. " you don't think I could win against you."
"I never said that,"
"In case you didn't know I'm pretty great with a bow and arrows."
"Okay what if you didn't have any of that," Scott said.
"I got skills and training."
"I have claws," Scott said with a smile.
" I'm smarter." She said I smiled amusedly at their bickering.
"Well, I'm faster."
"Prove it." She said to him, she smiled I watched as she jerked her body one way, before kicking out, Scott blocked her blow with ease each time she went again, her form wasn't that bad, she moved quickly but she could use a little more practice. I stayed back as Scott found an opening, using it to pin Allison against the wall it's her hands behind her back. "Okay I get it you can let me go now."
"I'm sorry,"
"Don't apologize?" she said as she sat down by her bed, Scott looked to me asking if it was alright for him to leave her with me, I nodded before he walked towards the door.
"I'm only telling you this because they scare the hell out of me and they should scare you too." He said as he shut the door.
I blew out some air, "I'm going for a walk." I said before walking out of the room, I knew she wanted to be alone. I stepped out of the apartment and headed for the stairs, halfway down I was stopped by Aiden.
"Look, I'm sorry." He said.
"You shouldn't have to apologize." I told him, he looked stared at me weirdly."I got in your way and I shouldn't have." I felt him stare at my stitches
"Does it hurt?" He asked softly.
"No" he smiled knowing that he caught me in a lie. He took my hand in his before black veins travelled from my hand to his, he was taking my pain.
"You're a horrible liar." He said.
"You're a horrible bad guy," I remarked.
"What do you mean?"
"Bad guys don't worry about the people that they are fighting against."
" I'm not fighting against you." He said
"You're against Scott," I said
"Maybe but I'll never fight against you," he said stepping closer. I scoffed and looked away.
"What if I fight against you?" I asked.
"I'll heal and eventually you'll realize that I'm not going anywhere." I felt him lean in to kiss me again. I knew it was wrong that he was the enemy but I felt myself leaning into him too and the next thing I know is that we're making out in the stairwell.
"This is a one-time thing," I said as he lifted me and I wrapped my legs around his waist.
"Of course princess," he said. I rolled my eyes and tangled my fingers in his blond hair as he pressed me against the wall.
A COUPLE HOURS LATER
"Are you sure about this?" I asked Allison as I screwed a flash arrowhead to the arrow"You don't have to come," she said I laughed.
"Like I'm going to let you walk in alone. Let's do this."
I listened to the fighting as we waited for the perfect opportunity to fire. I saw Boyd, the boy from the other night, lying on the ground then I looked at Scott and Isaac who was being held down by a weirdly combined werewolf. I nodded at Allison as we both stood, bows at the ready and we fired.
"Cover your eyes." I heard the alpha leader yell to the other alphas, Allison shot an arrow that electrocuted the combine werewolf forcing them to turn back into Ethan and Aiden and I couldn't help but wince. I kept shooting until I shot one of the alphas, Kali, in the shoulder. when Allison stopped shooting she looked at Scott as he found the confidence to stand up and fight again. I looked at Allison who was smiling at the boy she still loved. We watched as the beta went against the alpha standing beside Boyd who was still lying on the ground. the bigger werewolf threw Scott down again, we all watched as Scott slid back, he lifted his head and from his eyes, a new colour shined in the dark building. My eyes widen as I caught glimpses of red before he shook them back to golden yellow. I smiled and looked at my sister.
"Alli, Let's go." I nudged her and we walked back to her car.
