"cause i cant breathe when you talk to me, i cant breathe when youre touching me, i suffocate when youre away from me so much love you take from me, im going outta my mind"

MADISON'S POV

Matt was the first to pull away after a few seconds. He looked at me tentatively before cracking a grin. "You didn't yell at me this time!" He shouted, doing a mini dance behind the wheel of the car.

"You spillt burning food on me last time, you idiot!"

I leaned over to swat the side of his head with my hand but he leaned out the open window where I couldn't reach him and pretended to look around.

"You don't think anyone saw that and took a picture do you?" I asked, not wanting to cause anymore trouble for him.

Matt shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe, but it doesn't really matter."

"But you just-"

He cut me off. "Don't worry about it, okay? They already think we're a couple, it's not like it's news to them."

I raised my eyebrows quickly and looked down at the seat, not replying.

Eventually Matt put the car in drive again and began on the way home. We were accompanied by silence for a few minutes before my phone chimed with a new text.

Lexi: what kind of car does gage drive??

"Do you by any chance know what kind of car Gage drives?" I asked Matt, myself having no clue.

A gut wrenching feeling settled in my stomach as I reread her text message. She definitely wouldn't just ask this out of the blue, I don't think... Although I hope she is.

"I don't know. I've never even seen the guy, Madison. Why?" He snapped at me, before shooting an apologetic look in my direction.

"Lexi wanted to know."

Me: No idea... why

Lexi: i think someones following me and the only thing i know for sure is it doesnt look like john

Lexi: do u know how dangerous texting and driving is? lmao can u call em

Lexi: me*

I did as I was told and hit the call button next to her name. Lexi picked up after the first ring and I put her on speaker.

Matt sighed loudly as he turned the blinker on and made a turn. "Lexi what's wrong now?"

"What's with your attitude? You could be pleasant for one day, you know." I snapped at him, as Lexi waited on the other side of the line.

"I think I'm being followed!" She said.

"It's probably just someone going the same direction as you, calm down." Matt told her, ignoring my comment. "God," He muttered under his breath.

"No they're definitely-"

"Goddammit, just pull over somewhere and keep everything locked and tell us where you are." He cut Lexi off.

"What's going on with you? You weren't acting like a dick until after we ki-" I stopped short, remembering Lex was still on the phone. I didn't want her to know about that yet because we have far more important things to talk about.

"Huh?" She chimed in, as Matt gave me a confused look.

"Kick. After we kicked the... soccer ball. Sorry, I had to uh, yawn."

"Sounded like you were gonna say kiss. But that's funny. Because you don't like Matt, do you?"

Matt turned his head towards me and waited for my answer.
