Chapter 6

The rest of the week passed so quickly and before I knew it, it was Friday.

I had been right about Calum and I was kind of getting sick of seeing him around all the time. Dani was bringing him over almost everyday since the first day of school. I guess I was just tired of his face and it sucked that Dani had already a really close friend, and I didn't.

This morning when I woke up I decided to finally ask Michael if he wanted to hang out after school. I had to start making friends after two weeks of being here, so I decided I had to step up my game today by hopefully hanging out with him.

The bell rang indicating it was time for my first class. I entered my science class and sat down next to Michael. He gave me a little nod acknolodging I was there and I returned him a smile.

30 minutes into the class Michael spoke, "shit this class is so shitty" he whispered to me. I laughed at his choice of words and how funny it sounded coming out of his mouth.

"I totally agree" I answered.

"You know what?" he randomly asked.

"What?" I asked back.

"I think that your hair would look really good with streaks of pink in it." I thought for it for a second but then I shook my head sticking my tongue out at him at how ridiculous that would look on me.

I decided it was a good time to ask him if he wanted to hang out later today so I just went for it. "Hey wanna hang out after school?"

"Hmmn sorry Lou I'd love to but I have a shift at Starbucks tonight.." for a second I thought he was going to answer no, so I was glad he did like the idea of us hanging out, but I was still dissapointed that I had to spend another Friday night alone. Once again. I was getting sick of having Netflix marathons, I think that I had finished all the seasons of all the TV shows that ever have been made.

"Hey but you could still swing by the coffee shop and hang out there? Ill sneak you in the back and you could even help me make drinks" he offered. I think he felt bad for me but I still accepted. I don't think that sneaking me is legal but I was up to it. Still better than staying home alone and this could maybe be the start of a new friendship, who knew?

The rest of the day was boring as hell for me, including lunch. Ashton wasn't there once again which was so odd. He was kind of on and off. I saw him only twice since he told me his name but I didn't understand why he was missing all this school. It certainly wasn't because he was sick unless he had a rare disease or something. Oh god I wish he didn't. I tried to put that thought out of my head because I really didn't want anything bad to happen to him.

After school ended I went straight to Starbucks to meet Michael there. Dani was spending the night at one of her friends, Kali I think her name is, so I don't have to worry about her tonight.

When I get to Starbucks i'm suprised by how empty it is. I see Michael behind the register with his barista name tag and apron.

"Hey!" I walk up to him.

"Hi, come on back" he points to a door which apparently leads to the back. We go in the back of the store where all the supplies are. I see a bazillion types of syrops, several cans of whipped cream and many fridges lined up against the walls filled with Starbucks secret ingredients. This must be the storage room.

"Woah" is all I manage to say. "Yeah working here isn't as easy as you think" he laughs.

Michael dissapears and I dont know where he went to. "Michael?" I call out. He comes quickly back with an apron in his hand and a name tag. "Here he hands it to me, you'll be.." he checks the name tag, "Sarah for today!" he laughs. "Btw you can call me Mikey." he says as I put on my apron, already feeling like an official barista.

Minutes later, our first customer walks through the door.

"Hellllloo!" I tell our customer clearly over excited about this. Mikey let out a small laugh behind me clearly taking me as a barista not seriously.

The guy ordered his drink and Mikey know exactly what to do so he started to prepare the drink. The guy paid me and went to get his drink at the counter.

After an hour of serving customers and being behind the cash register, I started to feel tired being on my feet for so long.

"I should be paid for this just saying" I joke to Michael.

"Well," he looks at my name tag, "Sarah, you're not a real barista here." he laughs.

"So do you mean Sarah's gonna get all the money I made in an hour?" I whine messing with him.

"Trust me it's not a lot of money anyways." he answers back.

"But I can give you this," he starts taking syrops and weird ingredients all putting it in the blender. He pours the drink in a cup and puts whipped cream on top.

"Here!" he hands it to me with a large smile on his face.

I take a sip out of his drink and let out a big "Mmmmmh" sound.

"Michael this is amazing!" I say surpised by how good this drink is.

"It's my invention, I call it the Nutella frap. I'm glad you like it!" he smiles gladly. This tasted exactly like nutella, i don't know how he knew that I absolutely love nutella. It's one of my guilty pleasures.

My feet truly started to hurt after that and I felt tired so I told Mikey that it was time for me to head home. I take off my apron, my Sarah pin and stored them in the back room.

"Thanks for inviting me this was really fun" I tell him truthfully.

"Yeah thanks for helping me out Sarah, whenever you want to help me again come back i'll probably be here. Oh and I take that back, pink hair wouldn't be pretty on you but blond would. And I tell you one day i'll make you go change your hair up." he winks at me as I exist the shop laughing.

"Ok whatever you say bye Mikey!" I yell as I wave goodbye.

I knew that this was the start of a great friendship.

OK i know it seems like they are gonna date but their not. Michael's just gonna be Lou's best friend and this is just how this started their friendship haha. I feel like they would be really cute together but they won't date OR WILL THEY?? jkjk

omg u probably hate me rn haha you'll see as the story advances what will happen (: Oh and don't worry i'll get more into ashton in the next chapters kk.

((also idk if you guys like the authors note, ik i do one at the end of each chapter but it's just clear things up for you guys and give a little update if needed so if you dont like them just skip through ok thanks. i just really like interacting with you all so sorry if it gets annoying ha))
