After a Large Caramel Frappuccino and 8 hours of Harry Potter, I finally managed to calm down about my car breaking down. Just the perfect start to summer vacation I thought to myself. After watching Harry Potter: And the Goblet Of Fire I was too exhausted to start Harry Potter: And the Order Of the Phoenix, so I curled up under my blanket and drifted off.
The next morning, I woke up to the sound of the Garbage Truck flying by which resulted in a box of recycled glass dropping and shattering all over our driveway. Don't they know people are trying to sleep? I groaned to myself. I had no luck trying to fall back asleep, so I ended up stretching so I could get up and start the day. I made a pot of decaffinated coffee and poured myself a mug while I added my favorite creamer, Coffee Mate: Hazelnut Flavored. After my first sip, I found myself lost in the mouth warming, dancing tastebuds, heavenly, delicous flavor of coffee; that is, until I heard a familiar voice. "Don't drink too much, you'll end up peeing buckets" snickered my 16 year old sister, Bonnie. I just about choked on my coffee as I desperatly tried not to laugh and let it all spray everywhere. I smiled at her and took my chance to tease her, "Well look who's up at 10 o' clock, don't you teens sleep till noon?"
"I would be but you really can't go back to sleep after you hear glass shattering on your driveway. Oh and FYI guess who had to clean it up?" She answered as she shook her head and rolled her eyes. Bonnie was tall, reaching about 5'8, with long honey blonde hair, crystal blue eyes, and was super model thin. I always admired how pretty she looked compared to me. I was short of stature (perks of having OI) reaching about four foot, had long golden brown hair, big fish like hazel eyes, and skinny like a twig.
"What do I look like your keeper?" I teased. She scoffed and rolled her eyes once more, she learned that from me.
"Where's Mike?" I asked changing the subject.
"He camping for a couple of days with the Parker's. He paractically had to beg Mom and Dad just so he could go." She stated. Mike was our younger brother, the baby in the family. He started his freshman year this Fall so he'd been pretty nervous as how football tryouts would go. Even though I was the oldest in the family, my siblings always had to pick up the slack if I got hurt. Since my parents lives pretty much revolved around me, they often would forget about Bonnie and Mike and that's something I always felt bad about. Erasing the thought I asked Bonnie, "Are you doing anything today?"
"No just chilling I guess," she said looking at her phone while she scrolled through her Instagram photos.
"Well, why don't we go shopping at the mall? my treat." I said cheerfully. She looked over at me and I could see the smile spreading across her face as she locked her phone and rushed to her room to change and grab her bag.
She was just about to race out the door when I called after her, "Hold up, there's a catch, since my car is at the shop, you're driving." She groaned, with an annoyed expression, and crossed her arms. I couldn't even try to contain my smile. She let out another huff of annoyance before she reluctantly grabbed her car keys and we were off.
Bonnie and I are your typical sisters, we fight, argue, yell, scream, you name it. But when it comes down to it, we love each other no matter how much we don't want to admit it. As a child, Bonnie was always jealous of me- claiming I had all the attention and no one cared about her, to play it simple, she was a drama queen. We were constantly butting heads and argued about anything and everything. We were sworn arch enemies and rarely had anything nice to say to each other. Yet in those times, when I was hurt, I could see the saddness and worry in her eyes, she hated to see me in pain but she would never admit it. When I went off to college all the hate and grudges we held over each other seemed to disappear. We finally realized how much we loved each other and we became closer. All those years of childish bickering and hate was just as it is, childish. She was my sister and she was always there for me, yet I can't help teasing her any time I can, I mean come on, she's my sister, it's my job! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
