The chosen one

True potential

Aris POV

It's just not fair. everyone has there true potential but me! i wasn't feeling hungry tonight even though Zane was cooking my favorite food hamburgers with fries, he even added smoothies. I didn't feel like being sociable.

I sat in my room reading my book when I heard a soft knock on my door. "come in." I said glancing at the door out of the corner of my eye. the door opened and Kai stuck his head in my room. "hey aris, you coming to dinner?" he asked. I shook my head. "I'm not hungry." I told him. "Oh, ok then." he said.

I continued to read but Kai lingered in the doorway. "you ok?" he asked me. "truthfully, no. but I don't feel like talking." I said now pretending to read. "Are you sure?" He asked me. I put my bookmark in the book and closed it. Kai came in and shut the door.

"I guess I'm jealous. I mean you guys all have your true potentials, including Robbi and jhosephina when we've only been here four days. and I still don't know what my special power is. I..." I sighed. I looked up at Kai who's eyes were as big as saucers.

He quickly sat down next to me. "I know exactly how you feel!" he said "I don't have my true potential either!" My mouth dropped open. "you don't?" I asked him. he shook his head violently making his hair fly around. I giggled. "what?" He asked. "your hair, it's like dancing." I said stifling another giggle.

He blushed a pink and smoothed his hair down with his hands. "No, it's totally cool! it's unique!" I said taking his hands and moving them away from his head. He brushed my hair from my eyes. was he making a move on me? there was a blast of light and we were both sent flying back.

I opened my eyes and there was light bouncing off the walls. I looked down and I was wearing an army green ninja gi. the light faded. I threw off my hood and looked at myself.

AGH! NOW I REALLY AM THE ONLY ONE WITHOUT MY TRUE POTENTIAL. I heard Kai say. I chuckled "its ok you'll get it soon." I said helping Kai up. "what? I didn't say anything." Kai said. "No,you said 'now I really am the only one without my true potential'." I told him. his eyes widened. "I was thinking that." he said.

I gasped. "that must be my super power! reading minds! Hurry think something else!" I said to him. uh, aris can I tell you a really big secret. Kai thought. I smiled. "yeah Kai?" I said to him. I really like you, do you think we could go on a date sometime? He thought with a pleading look on his face.

I blushed. "Kai, can I tell you an even bigger secret? I like you too. of course we can go on a date." I said with a smile. He smiled. "well everybody's waiting. you still not hungry?" Kai asked me. I shook my head. we both walked into the dining hall and sat down next to each other.

Everyone began eating with small conversations. Robbi stared at me. "you found your true potential?" she asked. I nodded with a grin. "really! what is it?" jhosephina said feeding sassy a couple French fries. "reading minds.... muahahaha!! nobody is safe!" I said in a low ominous voice.

A few people laughed. with my left hand I continued eating, but with my right hand I stuck under the table and weaved my fingers through kai's. he smiled that smile that I love so much.
