Bad Blood (Gabentine Fic)

Three Questions

"Thank you guys for helping us out back there. We probably would all be dead by now if it wasn't for you guys."

Ada and Leon had pulled the truck over and gotten out to get into the car they stole from Gabe. They had claimed that they needed to get back to their mission and go separate ways from the group. Javi had taken Leon's seat and Gabe had gotten out to say goodbye and thank you to the two.

Ada looked carefully at Gabe as he said his thanks and offered out his hand for them to shake, Leon taking it firmly and shook it. Gabe looked at Ada as she hesitated before shaking his hand very quickly.

"Don't mention it, kid. Next time don't try and make friends with cannibals, yeah? And take care of the little one."

The teen nodded at the woman with a small smile and waved goodbye to the two before getting back into the back of the truck with the others. Gabe stayed in the front with Javi while the others stayed in the back and they drove opposite ways of Leon and Ada.

The others felt the truck jolt and then they were moving again. Ellie and Joel were bickering over where they were going to go after they recuperate while Kate and Clementine were playing with AJ. Clementine felt relieved that AJ was safe and sound and in her arms again, but she could tell something was bothering him because he kept looking around. Clementine tapped his shoulder and smiled at him, wanting to know what the problem was.

"Hey, goofball. What's wrong?"

AJ turned his attention back to his Clemmy and pouted while pointing outside the truck.

"Where's Gabe? I want Gabe."

Shock and surprise were evident on Kate and Clementine's faces as they heard AJ's pleas, not expecting him the five year old to say that. Kate finally shook off the shock and pointed towards the front of the truck, showing AJ that that is where Gabe was.

"He's in the front with Javi."

AJ ignored the woman and looked where she pointed, a frown coming over his face from not being able to actually see the boy. AJ was about to stand up and holler for him when the truck came to a stop, the action causing the occupants in the back to fumble around for their footing before Joel poked his head out to see what was happening. Gabe and Javi were outside the truck and talking to a scroungy looking man on a motorcycle, the man pointing ahead of the road and then starting his bike up and riding off. Gabe and Javi walked to the back to inform the others what was happening.

"Alright, that guy said he has a community up ahead called 'Alexandria' and said we were more than welcome to follow him and go there. What do you guys think?"

Javi looked optimistic at the thought of the place, but didn't want to make a decision without their input. Seeing as how none of them really had any other options on where to go, they unanimously voted they all go there and check it out. As Gabe and Javi were about to go back around to the front of the truck, AJ ran towards him with his arms out.

"Gabe!"

The teen seemed in shock from the hug he was now receiving from AJ and looked at Kate and Clementine for answers. Kate shrugged her shoulders and gave Gabe a small smile before hopping out of the truck.

"He was asking about where you was. I'll go join Javi up front and you can sit back here with him."

There was no room from agreements from Gabe as the truck started up and he climbed up into the back, setting AJ down as the truck began to move. The teen smiled sadly down at AJ and ruffled the bit of hair that was beginning to grow on top of the kids head.

"How you doing, Goofy Goober?"

AJ giggled at the silly name and pushed away my hand, diving in for a hug as Gabe let out an 'OOF' before returning the hug once more.

As Javi drove ahead and spotted the man on the motorcycle and followed him, Kate decided to ask him about David. She had guessed that something had happened to him when she seen Javi crying back at Terminus, but she had to know.

"Javi, what happened to David? Please, I need to know."

A pained look crossed Javi's face from the question and Kate almost felt bad for asking and was going to take it back, but Javi cut her off.

"They cut him up, Kate. The bastards cut him up and ate him. Kate, they-they fed him to Gabe and he didn't know it and he ate two plates. Fuck. Fucking cannibals. Gabe just snapped when he found out and bit out the side of this guys neck, Kate. I had never seen Gabe like that."

Kate didn't know what to say, hearing what happened to David, what Gabe did, and just sat there in silence. She knew something bad happened to Gabe in there from the blood that was all over his face, but she didn't expect to hear that.

"This must be the place, Alexandria."

The truck rolled inside through the gates as they opened up and then came to a stop before everyone got out. A group of people approached them and a man with a beard and a gruff look on his face stepped in front with a hand on his hip. He looked at the man on the motorcycle, who gave him a curt nod, before looking at Javi and the rest.

"Well, if Daryl approves you guys then I trust his judgement. My name is Rick and this is Alexandria. Now, before we get you folks settled in, I have three questions that all of you must answer individually."
