Chapter 9

I woke up the next morning early. I mean not that early because I'm still all jet lagged but ya know 7:00 o'clock is yeah. I rolled over. Everyone was still sleeping. I carefully got out of Kaley's bed and crawled to my suitcase. I mean literally crawled. I couldn't walk and I didn't want to make a bunch of noise so I just crawled. I took all my meds and shoved them back into my secret pocket. The boys were still asleep. So were Sammy and Kaley. The tv was still on from last night. I crawled back to bed and posted a pic of my boys on Instagram. I proceeded to Twitter of course. Then I texted my mom to say hi and that I loved and missed her. Ya know that usual. The boys all started to stir at the same time. They're so cute like that. Ahhh my brothers.
"Good morning beautifuls" I said looking at them with the look you give to baby's.
"How did we all end up here" Matt said confused.
"You fell asleep there... Together" I shook my head as they untangled themselves.
"What time are we leaving for DC" a voice said behind me. I looked back. Kaley was sitting up looking at her phone.
"We'll try for 9 because I wanna get a good start ya know" Nash said.
"Alrighty" I said standing up and grabbing a pair of jeans and a crop top that said 'oopsy daisy' I limped into the bathroom and changed clothes. I brushed my teeth and let my hair down. It was getting so long now. Skylar always kept her hair long. I looked at myself in the mirror. Something had changed about me over night. I don't know what it was. Maybe it was the dream that I had. Maybe it was just being by myself. Whatever it was, it was ok. I smiled at myself. Today was gonna be a good day. I hope. I hopped out of the bathroom. The boys were completely dressed which was surprising because ya know they're them. You see me because you are me. Saylor logic right.
"Matthew I'm gonna ask you to do something very specifically ok"
"Uh oh" he said.
"Over in that corner are purple converse high tops. Bring. Them. Over. Here" I said slowly.
"What? Oh" he said grabbing them and giving them to me.
"God Matt you screw up everything. You GAVE them to me. I told you to BRING them to me. Jeez" I said slipping them on. He rolled his eyes standing up.
"But I love you" I said slipping into my wheelchair.
"Awe" he said ruffling my hair. I grabbed a jacket and a pair of sunglasses. Kaley and was changed and we were off.
"Where are we going first" I said looking up at Cameron who was pushing me. Well actually we were in the elevator so...
"Yeah uhm I'm thinking we could go to Washington Memorial then work off from there" he said. I nodded slipping my sunglasses over my eyes as the doors opened and we paraded into the lobby.
"Oh my god" I said putting my head down as I saw the one and only Ryder. Why just why.
"What" Kaley said looking down at me. I looked up and my eyes met his. He smiled and I rolled my eyes giving him a half smile.
"Is that the same kid from yesterday" Nash said quietly.
"Uh yeah" I said. This time he was with a blonde kid and two younger blonde kids.
"Was it Ryder" cam said steering to the right towards him.
"No. No we're not doing this. The doors that way" I said pointing in the other direction.
"Hey Ryder" Kaley said happily just to annoy me. I face palmed.
"Oh hi guys" he said smiling.
"What's up" cam said.
"Just hanging with my uh cousins," he hesitated, "this is Sam, Kylie, and Cole" he said. Sam was the older one.
"Nice to meet you" Nash said extending his hand.
"Oh my god" Kylie said her hands flying to her mouth.
"You must the the one coming to Magcon" cam said. She just nodded.
"Hey I'm gonna text Shawn" I said slipping out my phone. I heard her gasp and giggle.
"I'm guessing Shawn's your favorite" I said looking up at her for the first time. She had blonde hair blue eye a she looked about ten. She had braces. Ah I remember the days of braces. I was ten when I had mine. Well I got them on at like 9 and a half and got them off at 11 and a half. Now my teeth were perfect. I half smiled again and looked back down at my phone.

"Shawn's coming" I said putting my phone back down in my lap. I looked back up my eyes meeting Sams. He had the same color as his sister. His hands were shoved down in his pockets.
"Hey Matt" I said looking back at Matt who was on his phone.
"Cha" he said looking up.
"Are you going to the MTV movie awards in April"
"Maybe. I don't know"
"My mom texted me about it"
"Isn't O2L going"
"Yeah probably" now I know you're going to ask, Damn girl you know everyone! Yeah not everyone but I have collabed with too many. Sky and I stayed with the O2L guys for like a weekend and stuff. Yeah so they're my frands. Most people are.
"Wait what month is it" I said all confuzzled for a second. This is what home schooling does to you.
"March" Ryder said raising his eyebrows.
"I'm here. I'm not late right" Shawn Said running up next to Matt.
"Nope" Kaley said. Kylie squealed.
"Oh yeah. Shawn this is Kylie. Kylie this is the one and only Shawn Mendes" I said smiling at Kylie's reaction.
"Hi" he said leaning down.
"Oh my god" she said turning towards Sam then back towards Shawn. Sam smiled to see how happy she was.
"You want a picture"
"I don't have a phone" she squeaked.
"Sam?"
"I... Left mine in the room" he said looking down at his shoes.
"Oh it's cool. We can take it on mine" Shawn said pulling his phone out and handing it to me.
"Whale ok then. You have social media Sam?"
"Y-yeah actually" he said smiling down at his sister. I took the pictures and then went onto Shawn's twitter and of course after hacking him I waved Sam over.
"Twitter or Instagram"
"Instagram" I nodded and went onto Shawn's Instagram.
"It's @SamEvans" he said. I tapped his name and followed him. I mean I didn't follow him. Technically I followed him but really Shawn followed him. I think. I posted one of the pictures and tagged Sam. From Shawn's account I said:
Met this sweetie today @samevans tell your sister I miss her already. (Ps this is Saylor whoops hacked haha my Shawny bear)
I posted the pic and handed Shawn his phone back.
"Hey could you actually text me one of those pictures so I could print it out for her." He said shyly.
"Sure" I said taking Shawn's phone back.
"Hey" he said.
"Hold on Shawn" I said sticking out my phone and texting the pictures to myself.
"Here what's your number" I said handing him my phone.
"Oh. Here" he said typing in his number.
"Ok. I'll text these to ya for sure" I said chewing on my lip.
"Yeah thanks" he said looking around awkwardly.
"Alright we better get going" Nash said turning back to the boys.
"Yeah uh nice meeting you guys" I said looking at the blondes.
"You too"
"Thank you" Kylie said staring at me wide eyed. I smiled at her warmly.
"Sure. Anytime. Come give me a hug beautiful" I said extending my arms and leaning forwards. She hugged me and then backed away to her brother.
"Ok uh yeah. See ya guys around" Nash said. After those awkward few seconds of staring at each other cam pushed me out the door with the guys and Kaley.
"Well that was-"
"Unnecessary" I said looking behind me at the boys.
"I was gonna say nice. It's ok to interact with fans Saylor"
"I'm not saying that's not ok but really we had to go our of our way and we're now like oh I dunno 20 minutes out"
"Stop being sour Say. Let's go enjoy our day" Matt said putting his hand on my shoulder.
"Fine whatever" I said grabbing my phone. I scrolled through twitter and Instagram.
"Ok so which way should we go"
"My phone says left" Cam said blocking the sun so he could see his phone.
"So left we shall go" Matt said turning my wheelchair fast almost tipping.
"Jesus Matt" I said gripping the arms.
"Lez go" Nash said.
"Shawn what song are you singing at Magcon" I said looking over at him.
"Top secret" he said winking.
"But not for us because we're your favorite girls"
"Not telling"
"Ugh" I groaned rolling my eyes.
"Pleasssssse" Kaley whined.
"Patience young ones" Nash said.
"Wow" I said looking behind me at them.
"Ok have you ever thought what if our lives are just dreams. Like we're living a dream right now and we'll wake up and be either really disappointed or really happy it's over" Kaley said.
"You have no idea how many times I've thought that and then proceeded to dunk my head in water" I said trailing off.
"You get that far?"
"That's some deep thinking man" Cam said nodding.
"I owe my followers a YouTube video" I said tilting my head.
"Oh I had an idea about that" Matt said.
"Enlighten me Matthew"
"Ok so what if we just do the sibling tag"
"What do you mean"
"Ok so what if one of us is like the "sibling" in the Sibling Tag. So we could take Ryan's place"
"Hmm. Yeah that's cool" I said looking up from my phone. We were approaching the Washington memorial.
"So which one of us" Cam said. I could hear him wiggling his eyebrows. I could just hear it. Don't judge me. You know I'm not normal.
"I'll decide later" I said. Ok I don't get it. Our fans are like ninjas. That or stalkers. There'll be posts on Instagram saying stuff like 'Saylor and Kaley surfing today' ok that was a bad example because most days Kaley and I were surfing but you get the point. How do they know exactly where we are. And how do they take the pictures without us seeing or knowing. My point is later if you look on line you can see exactly where we were at what exact time.
"Ok picture time" Shawn said getting up.
"Oh am I the camera man really" I said as Nash handed me his phone.
"No you take the best selfies"
"Awe thanks... I think"
"Come on stand up say" cam said.
"Fine fine. You know it's not easy getting up. Physical activity does not fly in Saylor land" I said hopping over to them. I grabbed the phone and positioned it so everyone was in.
"Ok so this is how it works. We do smiley, silly, and weird" I said brushing the hair out of my face. The boys nodded and Kaley slumped her arms around me.
"Ok one two three" I said smiling. Then we did the silly and weird and I handed Nash his phone back.
"Guys I think later this week we should do a music video dancing around the city." I said picking up my phone.
"Ooh good idea Say" Matt said.
"What song"
"Well I dunno yet. Probably something from 5 Seconds of Summer" I said holding up my phone to make a vine.
"She Looks So Perfect" Kaley said.
"You know me so well" I said starting my vine.
"Hi guys. Just checking in because I haven't in like a day. Anyways we're in DC and so more vines on the way" I said giving my best Ashton Irwin smile and posting the vine.
"Now I feel obligated to make a vine" Cam said looking at his shoes.
"Sorry I've inspired you" I said sitting back down.
"Yooooooooo. Waz up vine. We're going to-"
"Nowhere" I said before Nash could reveal our exact whereabouts.
"THANKS SAYLOR FOR RUINING IT" he yelled finishing his vine.
"You can't tell them where we are unless you want a super vine." I said raising my eyebrows.
"Oh yeah" he said.
"Ok can we move on please" kaley said.
"Do you ever wonder what people think about us. I mean they must think we're kinda crazy. We're always talking to our phones" Matt said.
"Yeah that's a good point." I said putting my phone under my butt.
"Oh that's not gonna help your case sweety" Kaley said as my phone vibrated.
"Yeah believe it or not vibrating butt looks just as bad as talking to your phone" Shawn laughed.
"Haha yeah very funny" I sneered answering my phone.
"Hello?" I said 'talking to my phone'.
"Sayyyyylor" a voice said on the other line
"And who would this be" I said my face conforming into a confused look.
"This is your mortal Emily"
"EM!" I said. Emily was my friend from back home. I hadn't talked to her since the funeral.
"Hey girl what you up to"
"Don't you have school?"
"It was canceled because something about school board emergency meeting"
"Do we even have a school board" I said.
"I don't know but I sure as hell don't care" she said happily.
"Well I still have to do mine so I'm not winning here at all" I shrugged as we walked down the sidewalk to the Lincon Memorial (a/n guys I've only been to DC twice so idk what I'm doing here. Cut me some slack it's summer)
"Hey you'll be fine. Where are you. It sounds loud."
"Oh we're going to the Smithsonian because we have a few days off"
"Bart just texted me and said we have a photo shoot on Thursday" Nash said.
"Oh and we have a photo shoot" I added.
"Damn girl livin the dream?"
"Guess so" I giggled.
"Hey listen Ty and I are going to the mall so I've gotta go. Have fun and text me later Bæ"
"Ok. Stay beautiful my Bæ" I said and hung up.
"Who was that" Kaley said staring at her phone.
"Emily"
"WHAT THE HELL MAN! I WANNA TALK TO MY EMMY" she said acting all hurt.
"Oops" I said popping the p.
"Ok pause to take a picture ladies" Shawn said.
The next day kinda went like that. Pause to take pictures with famous landmarks and museum exhibits not to mention the fans. Now it's Wednesday night and I'm siting up on the roof. I looked out at the city. Happy for once. My phone buzzed next to me. I picked it up. It was Ryder. Ryder and Sam and I have been texting a lot. I mean we've actually become friends.
Ryder 🚀:
Hey Saylor we should hang out. I'll bring Sam
Me:
Ok. I'm up on the roof. Come and find me
There was a two minute pause before he answered
Ryder 🚀:
Why is my emoji a rocket
"Because I have no good reason" I said turning around. I know these kids too good.
"How did you even know I was here"
"Oh Ryder. Ryder Ryder. Sweet innocent Ryder. I've known you for a few days now. I know alllllll your tricks"
"Oh I doubt that" Sam said emerging. I flipped around and stood next to Ryder.
"Ok my friends. I just wanna say. I've only known you guys like 2 days or whatever and we're already this close. We have some abnormal connection. I mean we must be bound together at birth or something"
"Ok that's creepy but true" Sam said.
"Oh shut up Sammy boy" I said putting my hand over his mouth.
"Ahh you like it" he said after I swung my hand back when he licked it.
"Ewww" Ryder said taking off running around.
"GRODY" I said jumping on Sam's back.
"Jeez how much do you way. You're like air" he said.
"Go my trusty stead. Go" I said kicking him.
"Owwwwyyyy" he whined. I dropped from his back and grabbed my phone.
"Ok who wants to make a vine!!!" I sing songed.
"I do" Sam said jumping. Up and down.
"Ok so it's sorta dark but I think it'll work just record but wait for the Signal." I said to Sam jumping back on Ryder's back.
"Wait why do I have to do it" Sam said.
"Because your gullible and you get to be in another one" I said. He seemed confused then settled.
"Ok one two three..." He said giving his the signal.
"Walk" I whispered. Later I would insert some music. He started walked not asking questions. I crossed my arms looking all boss.
"Ok done" Sam said watching the vine.
"Perfect" I said taking my phone back and inserting the song Ridin Dirty.
"They see me Rollin they hatin" I sang as I posted the vine.
"Race you to the other side" Ryder said to Sam.
"Wait I need a vine" I said holding up my phone. I sat on the flat ledge and gave them the count down.
"GOOOOOOO" I screamed as the two boys took off running. They tied. I mean seriously. How do you frinken tie.
"OH MY GOD" I said facepalming and posting the vine.
"Who do you even tie that. Seriously" I laughed.
"Like you could do better" Ryder said nodding towards my crutches. I sneered and stuck out my tongue. I was wearing a 'WHAT WOULD BEYONCÉ DO' muscle tank tucked into acid washed shorts with my white vans. I hopped off the ledge and limped into the middle of the roof. I laid down with my hair around me. My blue flower crown was around my forehead.
"Oh you gonna have a little nappy"
"Nah. But you can lay with me" I said patting the ground next to me. He lay on the opposite side our heads touching.
"Heyyyyy" Sam said scooting in next to me. We stared up at the stars for a while.
"Guys I don't feel like getting up" Ryder said.
"Why would we do that" I said holding up my phone.
"Ok close your eyes and smile" I said doing the same and turning on my flash. I took a few pictures and then rolled over on my stomach. I scrolled through the pictures most of them we looked really retarded but there was one that was perfect.
"And for this moment I swear we are infinite" I said typing as I spoke.
"Perks of being a Wallflower" Sam mumbled. I looked over at him surprised he knew that.
"What" he said rolling over.
"Let's go watch a movie" I said slowly getting up and grabbing my crutches.
"I'm gonna have to pass on that one" Sam said.
"Wait hold on a second. Why are you always here Ry" Ryder and Sam glanced at each other then back at me mentally debating something.
"Guys just spit it out and tell me. You know I don't judge" I said sitting up and looking at them. Ryder sighed and looked down.
"I live with Sam" Ryder said.
"Ok. Why didn't you tell me that before"
"Because I didn't want your sympathy" Ryder said.
"Sympathy for what"
"Why I'm living with him," he paused looked down and then back up at me, "my parents died in a car crash about a month ago. A drunk driver" Ryder said sniffing.
"We came to pick him up and take him back to Cali with us" Sam said.
"Oh my god. Ryder" I said engulfing him with a hug. He wrapped his arms around me and rested his head on my shoulder. I felt a drop of water land on my shoulder. I rubbed his back slowly. I know what it's like losing the most important people in your life. I pulled back and grabbed his shoulders.
"Ryder. You didn't have to lie to me. I know exactly how you feel. Losing your favorite people and then all everyone wants to do is tell you it's ok. They don't get it do they? They don't understand what it's like" I said. He stared at me and then slowly nodded. Sam was just standing there awkwardly. I pulled Ryder into a quick hug and then stood up turning to Sam.
"Hey where do you live in Cali?" I said shivering as the wind picked up.
"Harbor City" he said.
"Dude no way. That's like 20 minutes away from Long Beach we can hang out whenever"
"Ya know that's the first time that Ryder's ever cried over his parents" I looked at him confused.
"He has kind of a rough past with his parents."
"What do you mean" I said furrowing my eyebrows.
"Uhm Ryder's parents used to abuse him"
"What!" I said a little to loud.
"Shhh. He just didn't meet his parents expectations" Sam said. I looked back at Ryder then back at Sam.
"Yeah we'll hang though" Sam said as if the conversation that just went down never I happened. I nodded and sat back down next to Ryder putting my arm around his shoulders.
"Thanks Saylor" he said.
"For what" I looked at him straight in the eyes.
"For being there for me. I mean we only met like two days ago but you're still like my best friend"
"Yeah I have a way with doing that" I said leaning against him.
"Sing me a song" he said quietly.
"Me?"
"You and Sam"
"Ooh Sammy boy can sing" I said turning towards him.
"I guess" Sam said. I stood up and whispered what song we should sing.
"Ok ready" Sam said. I pulled up the karaoke version on my phone.
Then we bother turned away from Ryder.

"Guys can I tell you something I've never told anyone besides a few select few" I said looking into Ryder's eyes.
"Of course" he nodded.
"Ihavedepression" I blurted out. I watched their expressions change from happy to shocked.
"What..?" Ryder said.
"Please don't look at me differently now" I said with pleading eyes.
"We would never. And we're gonna help you get through this" Ryder said rubbing my leg.
"Yeah." Sam agreed.
"Thanks guys. Just thanks for everything" I said biting my lip.
"Anything for you" they said. "Hey it's like 11:30 and I have a photo shoot tomorrow so I guess I should get to bed" I said putting my phone in my pocket and grabbed my crutches.
"Kk night Say"
"Night guys" I said kissing both of their cheeks and walking off into the building. Kissing your friends isn't weird stop looking at me like that. I pressed the down button and stepped into the elevator and went down a level. I stepped into the hallway and was hit in the face with something hard.
"Ow" I said feeling my nose that was now bleeding.
"Oh my god. Saylor I'm so sorry" Taylor said running up to me and retreating the tennis ball.
"It's ok I'm fine" I said catching the blood in my hand.
"Here let's get you cleaned up" he said leading me into his room. He handed me a wet washcloth. Hayes showed up next to him laughing.
"Oh is this who we hit" he said laughing more. I shook my head and rolled my eyes.
"What were you guys doing at 11:30 pm in the hallway"
"I could ask you the same question" Tay said.
"I asked first" I said sassily.
"We we're playing tennis"
"Ok I'm not even gonna ask about that one" I said.
"What were you doing" Hayes asked skeptically.
"I was hanging out with Ryder and Sam" I said standing up and hopping out of the room. I slid my room key into the lock and opened the door.
"Wait who's Ryder and Sam" Hayes called after me. I shut the door and threw my room key on the table and sat down on my bed.
"Where have you been" Kaley said.
"With Ryder and Sam"
"Oh" she said looking back at the tv.
"Where's Sammy"
"She moved rooms"
"With who" I said
"Mahogany" she said
"Why"
"I dunno. She just said she was switching and left"
"Hmm" I said moving my suitcase onto the bed and grabbing a pair of pjs. I closed the door to the bathroom behind me and slipped off my clothes and headband. I stepped into the shower even though I really wasn't supposed to shower for a while. Whatever I feel all gross. I washed my hair and body then dried off. I changed into my pjs and braided my wet hair. I grabbed my dirty clothes and put them in the suitcase.
"So how was the roof" Kaley said looking up at me as I lay down in my bed grabbing my phone.
"Awesome. I love it up there. Plus I swear how long have I known those boys for? 3 days? I mean they're like already some of my best friends. It's kinda cool actually. Plus Sam lives like 20 minutes away" I said scrolling through Instagram. I stopped on my picture. Oh god.
"Whoops" I muttered reading through the comments.
"What" Kaley said not taking her eyes off the tv.

I opened my app and dropped my phone.
"What" Kaley said.
"Let's Just say that #Raylor and #Samlor are both trending world wide right now" I said chewing on my lip.
"Haha that's what ya get"
"Yeah uh excuse me for a moment... Or a hundred" I said dialing Ryder's number on my phone.
"Did you see it?" He said
"Yeah. Listen I dunno when my photo shoot will be over tomorrow so get down here right now so we can make a video" I said hanging up. I grabbed my camera and tripod setting it up in 5 seconds flat.
"Will you get the door for Ryder and Sam" I said as the knock came. Kaley stood up and opened it groaning. Sam and Ryder stepped and and walked over to me. I opened my laptop and plugged it in to my camera.
"Ok guys so first we need to calm down. This is no big deal. We just have to make a video. Follow my lead" I said. They nodded.
"Plus I don't see why this is so serious. I mean we know the truth. Loosen up guys. So first we need a cover pic so kiss my cheeks guys"
"What" Ryder said.
"No just do it trust me" I said. They shrugged and each kissed one side. I stuck my tongue out and crossed my eyes. I took the picture and then pushed the boys off me.
"Alrighty. It's go time boys. Now we make the video. Will you hand me my phone. Nah actually it's cool" I said turning on my camera.
"Why hello amigos and amigas." I said waving.
"You know Spanish?"Ryder said. I gave him a look.
"Anyways. I'm Saylor and this is drum roll please," Kaley banged on the table.
"Oh Kaley thanks I didn't mean... Never mind it don't matter. This is Ryder and Sam" I said pointing.
"Say hi" I said.
"Hi!" Ryder said waving.
"Hi" Sam said quietly.
"Ahh is Sammy a little camera shy?" He turned pink and looked down.
"Ok back on track. Speaking of track who's doing Track this year for your school. I've done it for the past like 3 years but things changed and I'm here with my brahs I said"
"She has ADHD" Ryder whispered to the camera.
"Just a little" I shrugged.
"Dude that's my jam" Ryder said looking at the tv. Of course the one and only Miley Cyrus was on.
"Can't you see it's we who own the night" he sang.
"Zaym boy can sing" I said looking at him.
"Zaym girl can sing" he replied.
"Ok anyyyyyyways this video is about all the false rumors going around" the boys nodded.
"Ok first of all I just wanna say I'm gonna be doing a Younow maybe actually it's like midnight and I have a photo shoot tomorrow so yeah. And second of all if just like to address my shirt right here. Ok Sam read my shirt"

We sang together. Then there it was. A gun shot. There was a scream and then another gun shot.
"Shit" I said.
"Kaley turn off the tv and lock the door. Boys get under the bed" I said scared as hell. Kaley did as she was told shaking. I grabbed my phone and camera and followed Ryder under the bed. Kaley turned off the lights and slid under her bed with Sam. I was shaking and crying silently.
"Ryder text your aunt and saw that we're ok" I whispered in his ear texting my own mom.
Mommy:
Mommy there were just two gun shots fired at our hotel. Kaley and I are safe. I love you so so so much. I can hear sirens. Please pray for us and don't be worried.
I sent my text and squeezed my eyes closed. I put my phone on vibrate just in case. Ryder wrapped his arms around me crying silently. My brother was somewhere in the hotel. I haven't talked to him. Oh my god. No no this can't be happening no. I hugged Ryder back and we cried together. My phone vibrated in my hand.
Mommy:
Oh my god. Saylor. I love you so so so much. Stay safe stay where you are. Hide keep all doors locked. Stay quiet. I love you. Don't move unless you hear the police. I love you so much. Call me as soon as you can. I love you.
She didn't say if she had gotten a text from Ryan. I cried into Ryder's shirt. He rubbed my back.
"Kaley" I whispered. She and Sam were huddled together too.
"Come over here away from the door" I said. She nodded her cheeks wet. She went first quickly as soon as she got towards my I hugged her squeezing her tight. Then Sam came and we hugged him.
"My brother" I whispered. We huddled close to eachother. This can't be happening. No. There were more and more sirens. I don't want to stay at this hotel.
"Guys. Talk to the camera." I said swallowing. They looked at me weird.
"Hi guys. Kaley, Sam, Ryder and I are ok. Uhm mom if you're watching this. I love you so so much and Toby I love you. I don't want to leave you guys again. I just want to hug you. Uhm I don't know where Ryan is right now but if you're watching this then please stay safe. I love you" I whispered and passed the camera to Kaley.
"Chance and mom. I love you guys so much. Dad I know we haven't talked for a while but I love you and please just pray for us. I love you guys" she passed the camera to Sam.
"Hi. Uhm mom and dad and kiley and cole. I hope you gust are ok stay safe I love you so much. Please stay safe" he said crying. I rubbed his back as he passed the camera to Ryder.
"I don't have any parents to pray for but I do have my aunt and my uncle and my cousins. Please stay safe guys. I love you. Thank you for taking me in and giving me all you've given me. I love you guys" he said then handed it back to me.
"Ok I'm going to post this on YouTube right now without editing so I'm sorry but uhm. If anything happens and I end up up there with my dad and sister I just want to tell you I love you and that you guys were the best thing that ever happened to me. Stay beautiful if this is the last time I say it. I love you guys. I said then I carefully wriggled our of Ryder's grasp.
"No saylor don't do it" Kaley said holding me back. I pulled my leg out and grabbed my laptop then fled back under my bed. I plugged it in and clicked the upload button on YouTube. It uploaded fast and I gave it a quick title 'I Love You Guys' then posted it fast. I shut my laptop and let the tears fall. I held on to Ryder as tight as I could. Then there was a banging at the door.
"WASHINGTON DC POLICE DEPARTMENT. EVERYTHINGS OK. WE HAVE OUR SUSPECT IN CUSTODY PLEASE OPEN THE DOOR"
"Don't trust them" Sam whispered. I looked at my friends all holding on to each other. I had to be the one to open it. They had lived to live. If I died I could go straight to heaven and love with my dad and sister. Then there was a crack of wood and the door was busted open. I bite my tongue to hold in the scream. The foot steps came closer and closer to the bed as our breathing got heavier. A man in a police uniform lifted up the covers. I sighed letting out my sobs.
"It's ok kids. Quickly get out here. Is anyone hurt" he said. We shook our heads in relief sliding out form under the bed. I stood up and hugged the man.
"Whoa kid. Hey it's ok" he said patting my back awkwardly.
"I'm sorry" I said stepping back as Ryder came out of the bed.
"Ok kids are you part of the Magcon event"
"We are the boys aren't" Kaley said through tears.
"Ok come on out to the hallway" he said I grabbed my crutches and phone and went into the hallway.
"Where was it" Sam said shakily.
"About a floor down" he said. Sam and Ryder looked at each other and blinked then looked back at the officer. I put my hand on Ryder's back.
"Was anyone injured or killed" I said drawing in a shaky breath.
"2 injured none killed" he said.
"Could you please tell me who"
"I'm sorry that information is classified"
"Please it could be my brother. Please" I said tears leaking from my eyes.
"Who's your brother" he said
"Ryan Fitch" I said between tears.
"Saylor?"
"That's my name" I said crying harder.
"You're gonna have to come with me" he said.
"Can my friends come"
"If you insist" he said. Kaley stepped forward immediately.
"We'll catch up with you later" Ryder said. I nodded sobbing now. I followed the officer into the elevator. He pressed the button for the lobby and stepped aside.
"You're brother asked for you"
"What happened. Is he ok?"
"He was shot in the arm"
"No" I said collapsing in Kaley's arms. I rubbed my back. I could tell she was upset.
"He's ok. They removed the bullet and he's able to move it." He said.
"Thank you" I said teas rolling down my face. Why me.
"Who was the shooter?" Kaley asked shakily.
"A 16 year old female. Hayley Tester" he said. Oh my god.
"His girlfriend?" Kaley said. I nodded.
"Who was the other victim"
"His name was Wren Hansel"
"That's Ryan's best friend. Is he ok?" I said. Wren was like a brother to me.
"Unfortunately he's in a coma right now"
"When's he gonna wake up"
"We can't say. Days, weeks, months, years" the officer. Finally after what felt like forever the doors opened and I saw Ryan sitting in a chair crying into his arms. I dropped my crutches and hopped as fast as I could towards Ryan. He stood up and picked me up.
"Oh my god" I said crying into his arms.
"I'm so glad you're ok. I'm so sorry. I love you so much" he said crying. I've only seen him cry twice before. When my dad cried and when Skylar died.
"Are you ok Ryan. This as to hurt" I said sliding to the ground.
"It's just a little sore" he said.
"I heard about Wren"
"I was gonna go but they want to keep an eye on me to make sure I'm ok" he said looking off unit the distance.
"Ryan?"
"Yeah say" he so as looking down at me
"What happened"
"We were watching tv and she stood up and pulled out the gun and said 'I'm gonna kill you tonight Ryan Fitch because you're dirty sister is a bitch that is hanging around with my man' I told her that you were my sister and I hadn't seen you for a while and then she said that it was Nash who she loved. That hurt more then the bullet. I moved just in time or else I would've been dead by now. After she shot me she turned towards Wren and shot him" he said a tear rolling down his cheek. I wiped it and have him a hug.
"I'm so sorry" he said.
"I should be the one sorry. She used you to get to me"
"No. I'm sorry for blowing you off and being an ass hole." He said. I hugged him tight and let myself cry. He could've been dead by now.
"Excuse me miss would you mind answering some questions for the news?" A lady said.
"Uh sure" I said.
"Perfect. Can we go outside"
"I'd prefer to stay here please" she nodded and sat down on the chair across from the couch. Ryan sat down next to me.
"And three two one 👉" a man said behind the camera.
"Hello America. I'm Chelsea Handler with CNN news. We are at the Hilton Garden Inn where there as been a shooting. Two injured none killed. The suspect is in custody. We're gonna talk to some guests at the hotel right now." She said turning towards us.
"I understand you were a part of an event taking place this weekend" she said looking at me.
"Yes mam" I said.
"Can you tell us what happened" she said.
"Well my friends and I were in our room and we heard two gunshots. We were actually filming a YouTube video at the time so all my viewers saw and heard that. I grabbed all my stuff and we went under the beds. I mean that was the most terrifying moment of my life. Knowing that my brothers life was in danger and my life was in danger" I said Looking down.
"So your brother was here for different reasons?"
"Yeah school field trip" he said.
"And you were shot?" The woman said turning to Ryan.
"Yeah in the right arm. By my own girlfriend. That hurt more then the shot itself" he said. I patted his leg.
"Your own girlfriend?"
"She said she loved me" he said choking up.
"I'm so sorry" she said.
"Cut" the producer said.
"Thank you. It talking to us kids. I hope you recover" she said getting up to go talk to someone else.
"I didn't like that" I muttered standing up.
"Yeah me either" Ryan said.
"Ryan Fitch?" Another woman said. He turned around.
"Saylor!" Nash said running towards me.
"Nash" I said as he hugged me. I breathed in his scent.
"Saylor I'm gonna go do some more interviews. Are you ok with Nash and Cam?" He said. I nodded and hugged Nash again.
"I don't feel safe here" I whispered.
"I know. Taylor's talking to Bart"
"I'm so glad you're ok" I said not letting go of him.
"Me too. Oh me too you have no idea" he said.
"Saylor" cam said running up and hugging me. I switched from Nash to cams arms.
"Thank god you're ok" he said rubbing my back.
"Ryan's not" I said.
" I know. He'll be fine though" he said kissing the top of my head.
"Saylor?" I pulled away from Ryan.
"Aunt KiKi" I said as she ran to me and hugged me. I felt so safe with her.
"You're mom called me. She knows about Ryan. You guys are gonna come stay with us for the rest of the week ok?" I nodded in her shirt.
"Aunt Kiki I thought I was gonna die"
"Oh sweetie I know" she said.
"Do you wanna go upstairs and get you're stuff. I'm gonna go find you're brother" she said. I nodded and Cam handed me my crutches patting my back.
"Aunt Kiki?" I said turning back towards her.
"Oh yeah tell Kaley to get her stuff too. She's stay with us too"
"Thanks" I said. She smiled at me and walked out the doors.
"You guys can come too ya know" I said looking at cam and Nash.
"No. We should stay with the group" Cam said.
"I really want you to come. Ryan's gonna be at the hospital with Wren and I want someone to be with me" they looked at each other.
"If you're aunts ok with it I guess"
"She will be" I said and we walked off towards the elevator. I grabbed Kaley's hand and pulled her in.
"Is he ok?"
"Yeah. My aunt said we're going to stay with then for the rest of the week"
"Oh ok" she said. She looked relieved. She knew my cousins. My aunt, uncle and three cousin love in a mansion on the outskirts of DC. They both work even though they don't have to. My uncle is one of the biggest journalists in the country and my aunt cares too much about children to not work with them and help them.
"Will you guys come with us" I said as we stepped out if the elevator.
"Of course" Nash said.
"Oh tell Hayes he's gonna stay with us too" Nash nodded.
"Come on" kaley said stepping into our room. The door was still open wide. We gathered all of our stuff and double checked before leaving. It was about 1:30 am but I wouldn't be sleeping tonight. My cousins are the same age as my brothers and I are. Casper's 16, Drew's 12, and Miley's 5. Nash and cam got their stuff along with Hayes'. On the way back downstairs we ran into Taylor and told her we were staying with my aunt for the rest of the week. He said he would text us details for everything later. We thanked him and went downstairs to meet my aunt and Ryan, and Hayes.
"Aunt Kiki, can Nash, Cam, and Hayes stay with us too"
"Of course sweetie. Nice to see you again boys" she said smiling warmly at them. She'd meet Nash and Cam at Ryan's 13th birthday the summer before my dad died.
"Ok are we ready? Here I'll take that" she said taking my suitcase. I was in my wheelchair with my crutches on my lap and my backpack on. Good thing Aunt Kiki has a SUV XL. We walked out to the parking lot and loaded all our stuff into the car.
"I'm gonna call my mom" I said after buckling my suitcase. I think Kaley and Aunt Kiki meet like when we were 5 for my birthday one year. I dialed my moms number. Ryan was looking out the window in the front seat.
"saylor? Oh baby I was so worried"
"I know mommy" I said.
"You guys are going to Aunt Kiki's right?"
"On the way right now" I said.
"Ok perfect. I love you so much baby"
"I love you too mommy"
"So listen Ryan's gonna come home on Monday. Do you wanna come home too?"
"No"
"Ok sweetie. Whatever you want. I have to go now. I love you so much"
"I love you too" I said. We hung up and I stared out the window. It was silent the whole way to the house. Finally we were there. It was 2 AM now. Aunt Kiki was parked outside the huge house. Casper and Drew ran out to meet us. I got out of the car and hugged Casper then Drew.
"Hi Kaley" she said. Kaley waved awkwardly.
"I can't believe Nash Grier and Cameron Dallas are staying at out house" she said staring at them.
"Act cool and you'll get along just fine" I said.
"Ok. I'll get your bag" she said grabbing it.
"Thanks" I said.
"Here Saylor" my aunt said grabbing my wheelchair for me. She grabbed my crutches and we walked inside. As soon as we got inside I felt safe.
"Saylor. My favorite niece" I smiled at my uncle.
"Uncle Remi" I said hugging him.
"Where's you're brother"
"I dunno" I said.
"Whoa" Kaley said gasping at the chandelier and the huge marble stair cases.
"Ok let's go up to my room" Drew said.
"Ok" I said following her up the stairs on my crutches. Up the stairs and down the hall into my cousins huge room. She had a queen sized bed and a flat screen In front. She had two couches with pulled out beds. She wasn't spoiled and she didn't act like it either. The whole family is just so giving all the time. Even Miley gave away half her dolls for little girls who didn't have any.
"Ok. I'll pull out the beds. Kaley you can sleep in my bed I don't mind. And I'm sure Saylor doesn't mind either she winked at me.
"Aren't you tired"
"Nah I fell asleep at like 7 tonight and I slept until we heard the news."
"Oh" I said.
"You guys aren't gonna sleep tonight are you" she said pulling out the beds.
"Probably not" I said sitting on one of the beds. These beds are more comfortable then any hotel room beds.
"Here stand up I'll make it for you" she said.
"No I can do it" I said. She's always so nice.
"You're hurt let me pamper you" she said in a posh accent. I laughed and hugged her. She tucked a huge fluffy comforter in and some other blankets. I threw my pillow over.
"Ok here ya go. I'll go get snacks and drinks" she said running out if the room.
"Jeez I love you're cousin" Kaley said spreading out on Drew's bed.
"Me too" I said.
"Hey I'm gonna do a Younow" Kaley said opening her laptop. I nodded and turned on the flat screen. I plugged in my own laptop and camera and phone. I unlocked my phone and texted Ryder.

Hey Ry. We're staying at my aunts house so idk when I'm gonna see you again but thanks for everything. I swear we'll meet up

I locked my phone and looked up as Drew walked back into her room with Hayes following.
"Hey Hayes is gonna hang with us"
"Sure" I said patting my bed. He ran over and flopped next to me hugging me.
"Oh Hayesssss" I said patting his head.
"Is this working" Kaley said. We all crowded around Kaley on her bed as Drew spread out all the snacks in front of us.
"Ok yeah we got it workin" she said. We all waved at the camera as the views grew. A lot of people were asking what we were doing and where we were staying.
"Ok so a lot of you guys are asking about where we are and what's gonna happen" I said scooting next to Kaley.
"You wanna explain?" Kaley said. I nodded.
"Ok so basically Ryan is fine. He's just sore. Uhm here Drew get over here." I said putting the laptop further down on the bed.
"So this is Drew, my cousin and we're staying there with Hayes and Nash and Cam and Ryan so we're all safe. As of magcon, I don't know what's gonna happen there. Tay I know you're watching so text me whenever about it. Magcon will still go on. It's just gonna be in a different location so everything's fine there. Uhm we're all good just a little freaked out you probably shouldn't watch my YouTube video because that was ya know a YOLO moment. I mean literally a YOLO moment." I said nodding.
"Yeah I mean we're fine just a little shaken up" Kaley said.
"I'm gonna go talk to Ryan" I said getting up and grabbing my crutches.
"I'm coming" Drew said.
"Kay" I said. She followed me down the hallway where Casper's room was. I knocked and then opened the door. They were all watching tv on the flat screen. Ryan was sleeping on Casper's bed with ice on his shoulder. My aunt was in the corner pulling out the couch bed. Casper had a pull out bed where Hayes was sleeping I'm guessing. Casper has a gaming corner where it was pretty much a big huge bed with a couch at one end. Nash and cam were sleeping over there and Casper was sleeping on the pullout bed I'm guessing.
"Saylor" Casper said
"Casper" I said throwing my arms around him.
"What'd you girls need" Aunt Kiki said.
"Oh I was just gonna check on Ryan" I said ducking under Casper's arm and sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Hi" he sighed.
"How're you doing" I said giving a sympathetic look.
"It hurts"
"Your arm?"
"Yeah and my heart" he said looking down.
"I'm sorry bud" I said.
"Yeah it's ok" he said. I ruffled his hair then walked over towards cam and Nash who were playing GTA 5.
"Did you get anything from Tay" I said wiggling under cams arm.
"Not yet. They're not sure yet. I know they switched hotels but it's hard with Bart not there. I mean Mahogany's mom and Carter's Mom but besides that there's like no leadership" Nash said.
"Is Bart flying in earlier"
"Tomorrow but not until 8 pm so he's not gonna be here until 10" cam said.
"Hey dude not cool" Nash said elbowing cam.
"Sorry" he said.
"Ok well I'm going back to Drews room now" I said watching them for a little while.
"Is Hayes in there" Nash said.
"Yeah"
"Ok just making sure" he said. I nodded and got up hopping out of the room behind Drew. I sat back down on my bed going on twitter. People were all still freaking out about the video.

I tweeted and then went on vine.
"Hey guys. We're fine. We're staying at my cousins house right now. I mean Nash cam Kaley Ryan Hayes and I are. Making a video in a bit" I smiled and then posted it continued to Instagram. I was tagged in a bunch of pictures with Ryan. There were pictures of Ryan on the news and in the hotel. I read through a bunch of them. I clicked on the hashtag #staystrongryan. There were at least 1000 pictures so far and growing as we speak.
"Drew will you make a video with me"
"I guess so." She said.
"Hola ladies" Casper said peaking in the door.
"You wanna make a video with us?"
"Sure" he said coming in and sitting on the bed. His dirty blonde hair was perfectly styled into a quiff and his blue eyes shone with hope and happiness. Drew had huge blue eyes with blonde hair that was dip dyed pink at the ends. They looked so alike it was hard to mistake them as siblings. I grabbed my tripod and camera setting them up to the proper height.
"Ok guys act natural" I said posing with my hand behind my head with the duck face. Casper had his arms crossed and Drew was laughing. I took the picture and them straightened up.
"ok guys. No plan we're gonna dive right into it" I said patting my cousins legs.
"Ok" Casper said.
"Ok. Three two one" I said turning on the camera and just smiling for a second. Or a minute.
"Ok" Drew said.
"Well hello there friends" I said smiling.
"We're back for yet another video tonight. This one will be more happy hopefully. No guns involved this time. Anyways I'm here with my two favorite cousins actually I shouldn't say that because all my other cousins are watching. Jk guys I love you all. But his is Casper and Drew and they're my cousins. We've been cousins since birth so I find that pretty special about us"
"No duh" Drew said.
"We're special" I said nodding.
"Thank you for once again stating the truth Captain Obvious" Casper said.
"You're welcome Casper" I said patting his leg.
"Now we're here to confirm our well being"
"Did you just say well being" Drew said.
"Yes. Yes I did. Pay attention Drew. No seriously I just want to say that we're all good. Ryan's doing better. Nash and Hayes and Kaley and Cam and I, we're all just a little shaken up. I don't really know about the rest of the guys. I know they're all fine and they switched hotels so they're safe. I don't know what's gonna happen about Magcon. I know it's still gonna happen so if you're coming out then just hang on for information there'll be a video or a email or something. I promise that it's still happening though. So yeah" I said. Casper and Drew nodded.
"Let's go talk to Ryan" Casper suggested.
"Ooh good idea buddy" I said. Standing up and grabbing the tripod.
"There's Kaley and Hayes. Wave to the camera guys" they waved and we limped out of the room down the hallway to Casper's room.
"There's Ryan and Cam and Nash over there" I said showing the camera and putting it down in front of the bed.
"Wait are you filming" cam said. I nodded and sat down next to my brother. Drew walked over to cam and Nash and Casper sat down next to me.
"This is Ryan. My brother. We've known each other since birth so we're pretty special" I said.
"Oh my god" Casper laughed face palming.
"It's all of our god. Don't be selfish Cas" I said. He shook his head rolling his eyes.
"Ok so uhm Ryan can we ask you some questions"
"Fine" he said.
"Alrighty. First of, all are you ok? I mean considering the circumstances being shot in the arm by you're own girlfriend and now you're best friends in the hospital with a coma. I mean considering those circumstances are you doing ok" he glared at me and sighed.
"Yes I'm ok" he said annoyed.
"Casper you get the next question" I said nodding.
"What I don't know what to say"
"Just make something up" I shrugged.
"How long have you been married?" He said. I burst out laughing.
"Not like that Cas. I meant something relevant to the situation" I said.
"You weren't specific enough" he said crossing his arms sassily.
"That my friends is 3 AM thinking for you" I said nodding.
"Will you be visiting the hospital tomorrow to see Wren" Drew said sitting down on Casper's squishy bed.
"No comment" Ryan said biting his lip holding in tears I could tell.
"Well thanks for your time Ryan." I said. Ryan nodding and looking down at his phone.
"Well #prayforryan" I said walking back to Drew's room.
"Uhm well this has been a pretty pointless video so we're just gonna end it here" I said sitting back down on my bed.
"Say bye guys" I said. Casper and Drew waved I smiled and then covered the lens turning off my camera.
"That was so pointless" Casper said laying down on the bed.
"Most of my videos are aren't they" I said grabbing my laptop and plugging in my camera.
"I'm going back to my room" Casper said. I nodded as Drew lay down next to me.
"Wanna go see a movie tomorrow?"
"Yeah. Hey can we meet some friends"
"Whatever you want" she said.
"Ah you so sweet" I said hugging her. I edited my video and then added a song at the end and the cover picture. I posted it and then tweeted about it. Then Instagramed about it. Then vined about it. Blah blah blah. I closed my laptop and turned off my phone. I put them on the bed next to me as I moved my camera so it would get broken.
"Text your friends and tell them to meet us at the movies tomorrow at, 12:30?" Drew said. I nodded and grabbed my phone.

I sighed. Ryder, Ryder, Ryder. Kaley shut her laptop and put it on the table next to her. She laid down in her bed pulling the covers over her. Drew was on her phone in her bed and Hayes and gone back to his room. We were watching old episodes of Psych on Netflix. Slowly we all drifted off to sleep at 5 in the morning.
