"SAYLOR" someone screamed shaking me. I bolted up right. I was in my bed I think. My palms were sweaty and my cheeks were wet.

"Saylor are you ok?" Ash said. I looked at him. My breath hitched in my throat with the nightmare I had just had.

"F-fine. What time is it"

"2:30 AM"

"You didn't have to get up"

"Couldn't help it. I had to pee anyways and then I heard you" he said. I dropped my gaze to my lap and curled my legs into my body.

"Are you ok?" He asked again, the worry was clear in his voice. I stayed silent for a while.

"It was just a dream"

"Everything's ok now saylor. None of it was real." He said. I nodded and wiped my cheeks on my leggings.

"I'm gonna go back to bed. Try and sleep" he said leaning down to kiss my head. He truly loved me. And I loved him like a brother. He turned around and started to walk towards my bedroom door.

"Was I not good enough? Is that why she left? Was I not a good enough sister? Was I to oblivious to see that she was hurting?"

"No Saylor. No. You were the perfect sister. The perfect best friend. You can't beat yourself up about this. It wasn't your fault" he said turning towards me.

"Why?"

"I don't know say. I really don't know why god takes the ones we love"

"God didn't take her life. She did"

"I know say. I know." He said.

"I don't like it" I said more to myself then him.

"I don't either. Nobody does."

"Ash?"

"Yeah Say?"

"When did mom get home last night"

"11 why?"

"Are we not good enough for her? Why is work more important"

"I don't know" he admitted sitting down on the edge of my bed. I swallowed and tucked my head into my knees.
