i wasn't kidding.
if you read the last chapter, then please know that i don't ever want to influence anyone to take that course of action.
not only is it unhealthy and damaging, but if you want to lose weight, that is not the way to do it. you'll only gain it back again if you ever decide to start eating again, and even the path to that could be rocky.
girls, or even guys, whoever you are, wherever you are - purging or starving yourself DOES NOT solve anything. it does not make you skinnier. if you do want to lose weight, then do it in a healthy way, and make sure that you even need to lose weight at all.
body dysmorphia is a real thing, and most people will possess it, especially in a society like ours, where we photoshop models and promote skinny rather than healthy. so, look at your body - really look it - and ask yourself, "am i fat? do i really need to change this? or am i skinny?"
then, don't look at a magazine. no, i want you to make yourself feel good about yourself. dress up, go shopping, eat, whatever. but do whatever makes you happy.
did you need to be a magazine model to do that?
did you need to freaking photoshopped to be happy?
did you need to a size zero and even below to do that?
if the answer is no, then, be happy with yourself. please.
you're perfect the way you are.
it's one thing to exercise if you just want to maintain a certain healthy weight or if you want to get fit, get toned, maybe lose a little over here and over there, AS LONG AS you are doing it in a healthy way.
❝remember, starving is not the solution.❞
and the thing is, here i am, preaching, but i can't do anything about what you do. but i want to let you know that if you need anyone to talk to, i'm here. if you ever want to stop, there are people who can help you to quit. there are people who've been through what you're going through, or are even going through it right now. there are people who understand.
❝you are not alone.❞
if you ever need someone to talk to, if you're even in a situation and you need help, but you can't call anyone you, if you just need someone, i'm here.
if you don't think you could trust internet strangers, or might need to hear someone's voice, i've included a few helplines below. i don't know if they'll help, but if you ever need them one day, here they are.
