My heartbeat quickened the longer I walked, feeling like he didn't even bother to follow me. Eventually, I stopped my movement entirely and he ran into me from behind.
"You were following me! Why do you have to be so quiet suddenly?"
"Why do you have to be so loud suddenly?" He countered, looking around at our surroundings once again. "At least you've made yourself useful. Look over there. Three o'clock."
"What?"
"Look a bit to your right," he sighed, grabbing the top of my head and turning it to the right as he said. There stood a market a good distance away, though this one was on the streets rather than a secluded area behind trees.
"Well look at that," I blinked and smacked his hand off my head. He scoffed before hooking his fingers around my elbow, that hand still in my pocket, and tugging me along toward the vendors. Impatient.

"I hope you know I am capable of walking myself," I muttered as Yuri continued to drag me. "The market's not that far and there are only like, seven vendors." I didn't honestly care too much about his fingers around my elbow, but I wished he'd go at least a little slower. He walks rather fast for a guy who acts like he doesn't care about anything, and I evidently walk pretty slow considering I feel forced to care about everything.
Yuri didn't say anything until we actually arrived, and by then he'd let go of my elbow. "It's the smaller ones that sell the best stuff. Since they're so overlooked, no one cares about what they have to sell and so they usually have more stuff to choose from, more stuff in general, and better stuff since the vendors calling monopoly usually only carry cheap crap that people will either lose or break within the next week."
"I wasn't aware you were so technical about these kinds of things." I smiled at him, but it didn't feel like a very big smile. Even so, I could tell he had to try in order to keep a straight face. "Fine, act like nothing I do or say entertains you even a little bit. I'll be over here." I smiled a bit bigger as I lifted my hand to pinch his elbow and walk to a stand that appeared to be selling small video games and electronics.
I could almost hear the interest in his voice when he stood still but said after me, "I thought you didn't like talking to other people? Remember, the standing, the silence, the strangers and that thing with counting change?"
I scoffed and turned around to face him, a digital camera in my hands. "Why would you say that? I'm finally getting mildly comfortable with this whole endeavor and you decide to remind me of how anxious I'm supposed to be?" Though I heard myself sounding annoyed, I couldn't help but laugh, which confused me. "Then can I remind you you're supposed to not care about anything I do, and I'm only supposed to see you at the ice rink?"
Yuri rolled his eyes and mumbled something of which I couldn't hear before walking past me to get to a clothing vendor. It made me wonder, did all of his clothes come from places like these? I must've been eyeing him for longer than I should've, because the lady behind the stand I was at tilted her head and asked if I was going to buy the camera. She asked in Japanese, though, and it took me a moment to understand and respond to her. Because of the extra time it took me, I felt embarrassed about talking to her. I apologized and said I wasn't buying the camera, and I'd probably just be looking around while the blond boy with the grey shirt spent all his money. This elicited a laugh out of her and she nodded, saying at least it's not my money he'll be blowing.
