The Dark Kingdom Chapter 1

A long time ago, both Kingdoms were friends. The Light Kingdom shares their Sun and the Dark Kingdom shares their Moon.

The most powerful rulers had the power to give energy to the sun and the moon. They are the only rulers who can do that. That's what makes them special.

They can also make it rise and set. It's a very important job and they do it every day. Every citizen is born with a symbol that represents the Kingdom.

The Dark Citizens wears a Moon symbol and The Light citizens wears the Sun symbol. But one day, Moonlight, The Dark Queen, was killed.

He believed that the Light Kingdom did this to her. The Dark King soon forbids any Dark Citizens to enter the Light Kingdom and the Light Citizens aren't allowed in the Dark Kingdom.

The Light King agreed and they never spoken to each other again. The Dark King was Mephiles. He had two sons and one of them was going to be crowned King soon.

His name is Shadow The Hedgehog. Moonlight died when he was a baby. So from now on, The Sun never sets on the Light Kingdom and the Moon never sets on the Dark Kingdom.

They no longer share their Sun and Moon. Meanwhile with Shadow, he was on his was to train with his friends when suddenly, his brother, Sanctum, grabbed his shoulder.

"Where do you think you're going?" Sanctum asked.

"I'm going to train."

"You know, I still don't understand why dad chose you as King. I'm older than you."

"Blame life not me. I didn't ask for any of this anyway."

"Whatever go do your training thing." Sanctum said as he walked away.

Shadow rolled his eyes and walked away. When Shadow arrived in the training room, he saw Sonic, Knuckles and Silver battling each other.

They are Shadow's Knights. Except for Tails. He's his helper. When his friends looked at Shadow, they quickly bowed in front of him. Shadow rolled his eyes.

"You guys don't have to do that you know."

"We know but the King told us to be respectful towards royalty." Silver said.

"So how have you been Shadow?" Sonic asked. Shadow shrugged.

"I'm alright I guess."

"I can't believe it's been 18 years."

"Don't remind me."

"Your mother was a great Queen, even though I never got to see her since she also died when I was a baby." Sonic said.

"Let's just get to training." Shadow said.

"Wait! Before we do that, have you found a girlfriend yet?" Silver asked.

"No and I don't plan to."

"You know that you're gonna have to at some point." Knuckles said.

"Can we just please get to training!?" Shadow asked.

"Yes sir." Shadow and his friends began to train for a while until he was ready to take a break.

"Have you guys ever wonder what the Light Kingdom is like?" Silver asked.

"I've never seen it before but what I heard is that it is very bright there." Tails said.

"I heard that it's mostly yellow and warm there." Knuckles said

"I heard that their princess is about to become Queen soon." Sonic said.

"Hey! Just like Shadow! Do you think they're the same age?" Silver asked.

"I think she's three months younger than Shadow so almost...I think." Sonic said.

"All of you shut up! We do not speak about their Kingdom! Or their princess! They were the cause of my mother's death!" Shadow yelled.

"But think about it Shadow, without the Sun, we can't grow anymore fruits, vegetables, or flowers. Also, it's a little bit cold here." Sonic said.

"Not to mention that it's always dark." Knuckles said.

"Who cares!? The Dark citizens can see just fine in the dark. We have enough food..."

"For now..." Knuckles said interrupting Shadow. Shadow glared at him.

"And we don't need the Sun! Who cares if we haven't seen it. If you want to see it, read the Kingdom history book but we are not gonna talk about the Light Kingdom again! Understand!?" Shadow asked loudly.

"...Yes sir." Suddenly, a white light shined behind them.

They turned around and saw the Moon glowing brightly which means that the Dark King is giving the Moon its energy.

When the glow disappeared, it means he finished. Shadow looked at his friends.

"I'm going to my room. Keep up the good work." Shadow said.

"Yes sir!" They began to train again as Shadow walked towards his room.
