Premium Chapter: Z

So this is Z's P.O.V and a bonus chapter.

I was peacefully eating my cereal. I got so lost in the crunchy goods that I totally forgot about Tobias.

What did he mean by we will come down later?

Maybe he is with someone. I let the matter drop. As I continued munching, I heard loud shouts from upstairs, all of them belonging to Tobias.

I stalked my way upstairs when the doorbell rang halting my actions. I opened the door revealing a very moody Rafe. Not that he is not moody 24/7.

"Hi!" I faked my happiness.

He just grumbled in response and dragged his slouched form towards the living room and collapsed on the couch.

"Yeah totally, make yourself at home." Heavy sarcasm was laced in my voice.

My ringtone blared when Rafe and I were in an intense stare off. Checking the caller ID, I sighed deeply. It read: Idiotic Bunny

"Yes Soobin, what is it this time?" You could tell that I was annoyed. Who wouldn't? This idiot decided to call me every hour.

"Z, I miss you. The others won't even play video games with me." He whined.

"I'll be back soon, don't worry." I comforted him.

"Z, I accidentally broke your controller." He admitted.

I was about to lash out on him when I heard the glass shattering. I hung up on him and ran upstairs.

Loud wails echo throughout the house. Rafe rushed behind me towards the bathroom. I tried to open it but the door didn't even flinch.

It just rattled. I called out to Tobias; I was panicking to death. Rafe calmed me in that moment of panic.

"Let me in Tobias!" I shouted.

"No, I just wanna be alone."

"Aren't you even gonna let me in?" My voice was very gentle, as if I was afraid that he might break if I don't be careful.

"No."

"Fine be it like that." And with that I stalked away to confuse him. I rushed to get the bathroom keys from the store drawer.

Rafe followed me.

"Is everything okay?" He was also freaking out with me.

"Follow me." And with that I rushed to the bathroom, keys dangling from my hand. After some effort the lock finally unlocked allowing me to see the other side.

"Hah! I used the spare k- OMG TOBIAS!"

The sight before me was truly horrifying. A weak Tobias was leaning on the wall. The mirror was shattered. His wrist had a very deep gash, from which blood oozed out nonstop. His eyes were droopy, his breaths were unstable.

I ran out of the bathroom screaming for an ambulance while getting my phone.

Hot tears streamed down my face as Rafe called the ambulance.

We rushed towards Tobias, I knelt down watching him close his eyes for the final time.

"No. Nononono NO. FUCKING NO TOBIAS. YOU NEED TO STAY WITH ME." I screamed while shaking him wildly, as if he was going to wake up.

What is taking that God damned ambulance so long?

I ripped my bandana off and wrapped it on the gash to temporarily control the bleeding.

Franny arrived at the hospital as soon as she was informed about the incident. Rafe was also there worriedly pacing back and forth in the corridor.

I just kept my head down silently weeping and praying for the betterment of my childhood best friend, more like my brother from another mother.

He was there when my father used to hit me and abuse me both, mentally and physically. I was engulfed by the darkness but he, he was like that bright ball of sunshine that healed me, cured me. Not completely though, but he did.

The doctors said that his health was still critical as the gash was pretty deep and he had lost a lot of blood.

Memories that I spent with him flooded my mind and I ran away. I couldn't help it. I just wanted to run away.

I ran to who knows where without stopping. My feet took me towards an open field near the hospital. I knelt down and screamed, screamed until I couldn't. Screamed until my throat was parched.

A new set of tears streamed down my cheeks as I violently wiped them and prayed to not lose another friend. I had already lost Kaylee, without knowing. I couldn't lose another one.

The walk back to the hospital was all gloomy. Even the sky was sad. The dark clouds hovered over the horizon engulfing the town into subtle darkness and uneasiness.

Blonde locks shielded my eyes as I walked in the familiar corridor. The disinfectant smell made me nauseous.

I hate hospitals. Some people are either having the first day of their life or the last day of their life.

Some people are exploding with joy while some are wailing in sorrow. Some are being discharged while some are being admitted.

I took my place back in the very uncomfortable chair as Franny sadly smiled at me. She must be going through a lot; she was the twins' godmother. And after Kaylee's death, dealing with Tobias' won't be easy for her.

The doctor came out and I immediately jumped on my feet.

"How is he?" My voice was hoarse.

"The surgery was somewhat successful. But due to major blood loss, he is in coma." The doctor filled us in about Tobias' condition.

He is in coma. Those words were enough to break me.

"We don't know when he'll wake up or if he's ever gonna wake up. You all have to stay strong. I would like the guardian follow me." He continued.

Franny followed him in his office. Rafe sat beside me and patted my back, drawing comforting patterns on my back.

"He's strong. Don't worry, he'll be okay." He said giving hope to both of us.

Where there is hope, there are trials.

By midnight, a nurse told us to go home.

"I'm sorry but only one person is required to stay with the patient, the rest can leave." She said in her sickening sweet voice.

"Doesn't matter. We're all family." I said, my blood boiling.

"Sir you need to understand." She continued.

"DON'T YOU GET IT? WE ARE A FAMILY, THAT MEANS WE STAY WITH HIM NO MATTER WHAT. IT'S YOU WHO NEEDS TO UNDERSTAND." Rafe growled.

The nurse squirmed away after apologizing.

It's been weeks since I last heard his voice, since I last saw those chocolaty brown eyes smile at me.

I was seated on the sofa in his room while Franny tried to feed me.

"I know you're all upset but you need to eat. He wouldn't want that." She looked at Tobias.

Now that I think, I don't even know what is that he wants.
