I've made it to the top 9!:D I'm so excited:P

Thanks for picking me to move forward:D

So, as you know, I had the situation this week(literally waiting for my ride to take me to the airport right now!), And Action isn't really my cup of tea, and I've got the flu. So, all the worse:/ This is just not my day:S

So for this one, since I'm sick, I just took a chapter from my book 'Love You, Love You Not'. The book's a romance, but this single chapter is Actiony...I hope it's enough:)

Submission Three

~The Fallen~

Introduction:

*Before I start, since this is chapter 14, I thought I'd introduce you to the main characters..

-James: The main character who is in a relationship with Melissa, but also has a bit of a crush on Riley.

-Melissa: James' girlfriend.

-Riley: James' crush.

-Nick: Riley's Ex-Boyfriend.

-Neil: A bullied, smart student who is James' best friend.

-Martha: Melissa's friend.

These are basically the characters most frequently found in this chapter! I'm so sorry I did this, but it's just been one of those weeks:$*

*Now For The Story*

"James!" I heard Melissa call. I turned around and saw her signaling me to go to her.

"Hi boyfriend!" she said, sounding unusually perky.

"Hi girlfriend!" I winked.

"How are you today?" I asked.

"Never better."

"Obviously. Who wouldn't be when someone like me is with them. You are honoured with my presence," I teased.

She laughed as we drew closer for a kiss. Just as ur lips touched, the sprinklers went off. She quickly backed away, and put a book over her head.

"Why is that water pours on us every time we kiss?!" she asked laughing, and wiping the water off her cheeks. We both laughed until a sudden, ear-piercing sound came about. Melissa's expression went from total happiness, to utter fear, as she looked into my eyes and whispered, terrified.

"James, was that a gun shot?"

We heard screams coming from close by. I tried to keep calm. It was a sound I'd heard a million times before when my dad took me target hunting. Melissa was right; it was a gun shot.

"Melissa, I need you to stay as calm as possible. We need to get out of here!"

Melissa nodded as we went into the closest classroom, turned off the lights, and hid behind the teacher's desk.

"What's happening?" said Melissa. Another voice came before I could answer.

"Melissa? Is that you?" said the terrified voice of Martha.

"Yeah, Martha! James is here, too. Are you okay?"

It was dark, but I could still tell she had just nodded.

"What's going on? Was that a gun shot?" she asked.

Our silence was answer enough. She put her hand on her ear to block out the continuous screams coming from outside. The class microphone suddenly went on.

"Students," came Principal Collins' voice, "this is not a drill of any sort. There is a shooter in the school! Please find the closest exit, and I beg of all of you not to act like heroes. To the shooter, whoever you are, think of what you're doing. Don't take away innocent lives. Surrender yourself. May God be with you all."
