Well, it's been long since I've done one of these! So glad I made it to the top 7! We're almost at the finish line now!;)

So, the theme this week was summer fun. When I think of Summer, my mind rushes to my cousin's mountain home, where I spend most of my Summers. Just a couple of teenagers goofing off. So, that's how I came up with my idea.

Hoping you'll like it enough to put me through to the next round, here is my newest submission!

~A Summer Unlike Any Other~

I packed my bags with everything I needed for my trip; clothes, cellphone, tooth brush, and all the other essentials. That was my routine at the start of every Summer vacation. Every year, right after school ended, my uncle, John, would pick me up from home to take me to the best place I could think of being: with my cousin, Steph. She is the only cousin I have, whose age is close to mine, me being a year older than her. All my other cousin's are grown up and married, some, even, with children.

Upon arriving at Uncle John's mountain home, I glared at the vast clearing ahead. It was as green as I remembered it, filled with knee-high grass, and tall Cedar trees. There was a fresh, cold spring closeby, overlooking a neighbour's farm. The weather was just as I liked it; Not Sunny, but not cold either; natural beauty at its best.

"Vince!" she yelled, when she opened the door. She rushed down and practically jumped me down to the ground. She was the closest family I had.

"Hey," I greeted. "How are you?"

"I'm great! How about you?" she asked, pancing.

"Awesome! I was so excited to come!"

She smiled and invited me inside to unpack. The room was just as I'd remembered it. The walls were all made up of long rectangular wooden planks just like the exterior build of the house, the bed was puffy, soft, and relaxing. I took a huge breath in, and sank onto the bed. I'd been yearning for that feeling for nine, long, treacherous months. The beautiful, effervescent smell of flowers just added to the breath-taking experience that was living in that house.

My cousin soon came knocking. "All settled?" she asked, looking around.

"Yeh, thanks! Want to go for a walk?" I asked. It was our annual tradition to go for a walk across the grassy clearing on my first day there.

"So, you guys have new neighbours?" I asked, passing the chicken coop.

"Yeah! They were already here when we arrived," answered Steph.

"Have you met them?"

"my parents went over to welcome them two days ago, and invited them to dinner tomorrow!"

"Oh, that's nice! Can't wait to meet them." I've always loved meeting new people.

"Do they have any kids?" I asked.

"Nope," said Steph, popping the P. "Just a married couple. I haven't met them yet. My parents said that they seemed really nice, though!"

"I guess we'll find out tomorrow!" I ended, as we headed over to the kitchen to have dinner.

The next day came back with a rush. Yawning, I woke up, and rubbeb my eyes. I pulled the covers off of me, and went to the bathroom to wash my face. After that, I tip-toed to my cousin's room, opened the cracking door, and smacked her with a pillow until she woke up. She whined, while she sat up straight, took a look at the clock on her bedside table, which read 8 AM, then huffed and sank back into a deep daze. I chuckled at the sight, then went back to my room, switched into a shirt and a pair of shorts, then put on my trainers and went outside.
