  "jungkook! we brought you some food." hobi yelled, placing the takeout containers on the kitchen counter. jungkook padded out of his room and shut the door behind him quickly and tightly, and greeted his hyung's hastily.

"thank you, hyung." he said with a nervous smile as he sat down to eat.

"hey, i saw y/n coming out of her dorm and she seemed a bit down. she was mumbling something to herself. it sounded a lot like 'stupid jungkook.'" yoongi said with a small smile, collapsing on the couch. 

hobi and jimin immediately sat on either side of him, relaxing from their day of hard work.

"yeah, now namjoon hyung and jin hyung are over there trying to make her feel better. when y/n is sad, we all get sad." jimin said with a cute pout. 

jungkook felt bad.

he had asked to come over but refused to tell her anything. if he did, the surprise would be ruined.

but then why did he go over there in the first place?

"hey, jungkook! can i borrow your blow dryer?" taehyung asked from the main bathroom. jungkook nodded before he was hit with a thought.

his blow dryer was in his bathroom.

and the surprise was in the bathtub. at the time, jungkook thought it was a good hiding space.

"WAIT." jungkook yelled, sprinting to the bathroom before tae could twist the doorknob.

"what?" he asked, frazzled by jungkook's anxious behaviour. 

"i'll get it. don't worry. m-my bathroom's a mess." he lied. jungkook was panting; trying to catch his breath. 

taehyung gave him a weird look.

"what're you hiding, kook?" he asked, giving the maknae a mischievous and sneaky box smile. jungkook scratched the back of his neck.

"it's a surprise." he said, standing in front of the bathroom door, hoping his hyung wouldn't force himself through and ruin the gift.

"oh, okay. but don't blame me if i stumble upon it." tae said with a wink.

 jungkook quickly went inside his perfectly clean bathroom (making sure to close the door tightly shut behind him), grabbed his blowdryer, came out and handed it to taehyung.

"here you go, hyung." jungkook said, shooing taehyung away from his door. with a relieved sigh, jungkook joined his members in the living room but couldn't help but think that his surprise could be exposed any second. 

this was going to take some thinking outside the box.
