Carmen's POV***

I jolt awake to the sound of a screeching alarm clock. The steady beeps growing louder for every second it's still on. This is the standard alarm clock the school provides for each dorm room. It was specially designed by a couple Gifted people to torment us students until we couldn't possibly ignore the shrill noises. Or so, that's what most of the students speculate. With a groan, I throw my arm over my face, covering my eyes. It can't possibly be morning already. I feel like I just fell asleep!

Across the room, I hear Khalene grumble, fiddling with something. Good. That will give me five more minutes to sleep. I feel myself starting to drift back into a dreamless sleep when something is thrown over to my side of the room. I scream in terror fully waking up to see the black alarm clock crash against the wall by my head; breaking into many pieces. The beeping stops.

"What the hell!" I yell at Khalene struggling to sit up. Slowly, she sits up rubbing her eyes before yawning. "What's wrong?" My eyes practically bulge from their sockets, "What do you mean what's wrong?!" Anger pulsed through my veins.

Ellie opens the bathroom door, providing light to the rest of the room. She's already showered and dressed, wearing jean-shorts, white wrap up sandals, and a light green collared t-shirt. She's such an early bird. Her eyes roam around the room before widening at the mess Khalene made. "Woah, what happened in here?"

I glare at the sleepy Khalene before getting out of my bed. "That little nut head threw the alarm clock at me!" Khalene looks up in surprise, "I did?"

Ellie rolls her eyes snorting, and proceeded to walk into the room, "That doesn't surprise me. Carmen the bathrooms open for you." Ellie walks over to the mess Khalene made starting to clean it up. I mumble my thanks before moving over to my dresser to pick out my own clothes.

After at least five minutes of searching, I finally decide to go with a casual, black button up shorts, my orange converse, and a white halter top. I wasn't that big on fashion, but Khalene insisted that I should have the newest trends.

Before making my way to the bathroom, I grab my clear make-up bag. The black clock in the bathroom above the oval mirror read 5:45, I have plenty of time to take a shower. Stripping quickly, I start the shower up thankful for the endless supply of hot water and start washing my hair. The shampoo and conditioner I use smells like anemone and honey. I've always loved the smell of anemones.

Quickly, so Khalene can use the bathroom next I scrub my body with the citrus body wash I recently bought from bath and body works. They have the best-scented products. I smile smelling the orangey soap.

Rinsing my body and hair a final time, I switch the water off, grabbing one of the three white towels from the black rack to dry off. I still need to dry my hair and apply make-up. After drying off, I begin the process of blow drying my hair; combing through it with a purple pick. After fifteen torturous minutes of untangling my hair, I finally just decide that it's dry enough.

Khalene knocks on the bathroom door, "Hey, are you almost finished?" I shimmy my way into my shorts before answering, "Uhh, yeah just about." I quickly throw the rest of my clothes on and brushed my teeth, before finally applying mascara, eyeliner, and lipstick.

I step out of the bathroom carrying all of my stuff, returning it to its rightful place on my dresser. Khalene darts past me into the bathroom carrying a bundle of clothes. "I'll be out in ten minutes top. Don't leave without me!"

I gather my side bag, putting my black binder inside. Ellie's in the process of pulling her long hair up into a messy bun. I glance down at my phone. Breakfast starts in about fifteen minutes. "What did you do with the broken alarm clock?"
